Chapter 78 - Back to East Blue

A little away from Minion Island,

The marines on the lookout ship looked at the complete devastation, caused by the golden dragon that scattered into innumerable arrows and descended upon the Ghost Town hill.

It was supposed to be the Diez Barrels hideout, but now it's no more. 'What are we supposed to report?'

Hearing the report, Vice-Admiral Tsuru suspected the attack is targeted at Donquixote pirates as they are the ones who were last seen at the attack spot.

But who did it? She had no idea. And, the scale of the attack is too powerful. It only annoyed her further, as nothing is going according to plan.

"It seems like Doflamingo knew about our ambush beforehand, he directly went to Minion Island. Let's go there!" Tsuru muttered and ordered her subordinate to steer the ship toward Minion Island.

After pondering a moment, she called Sengoku and reported the entire incident.

--

"Who are you? You aren't an ordinary marine? Why I haven't heard of you before!" Rosinante gazed at Blaize in horror. 'This guy is not simple!'

"You will, from now on," Blaize responded with a light chuckle. "Shall we go? Sengoku-san told me to bring you personally."

As soon as he asked, Rosinante kneeled without any hesitation and begged. "You can take me but please let Law leave.

Once the World Government gets hold of him, they won't hesitate to sacrifice him for greater power. He's still young, I don't want him to be restrained.

You can take me, I will explain to Sengoku-san and accept whatever the punishment may be. Please, I beg you!"

Blaize looked at Rosinante and said, "I will let him leave if you agree to my condition!"

"What is it? I will accept anything!"

"I want you in my unit," Blaize stated the condition. Rosinante's a knowledgeable person and his devil fruit is a rare one. Having him in his unit will help Blaize in the future.

"No problem!" Rosinante agreed.

"Ok then, let's get out of here. Your injuries aren't serious but they need treatment." Blaize said, eyeing the latter's wounds.

Rosinante then crouched in front of Law and spoke, "Law! It's your chance. Go somewhere...far...far away...nothing will bind you anymore...not the iron borders of the White City...nor your shortened lifespan. Nothing will restrict you anymore.

You are now...truly free. Live your life, we will meet again in the future."

"No, Corazon. I don't want to. Didn't you say we will travel the world, just the two of us?" Law cried.

"I lied. The truth is I am a Marine, I can't abandon my duty." Rosinante smiled.

'I know! I hate you!' Law thought in his heart.

Blaize knew it won't end if he doesn't take the initiative, so he picked Rosinante by his collar and flew away from the island. Law tried to chase after him but he was left in the dust.

"Law! Live well!" Rosinante yelled and closed his eyes.

If nothing goes wrong, Law will follow the original path. He will reach swallow island and would meet Bepo.

--

On the other side of the Island, Donquixote pirates met the Vice-Admiral Tsuru unit.

They were already battered badly. It's their worst day ever since the Donquixote pirates were formed. Even now, they don't know who attacked them.

If not for the fact most of them are strong and had several devil fruit users, the attack could have exterminated them.

Still, to defend them from Blaize's attack, Pica was injured heavily. Two of the arrows pierced his body; one to his leg and another to his left shoulder.

To their bad luck, just after they left the area they met Tsuru. The most dangerous enemy to face at the moment. Even so, they somehow escaped the island with injuries.

--

All this ruckus caused Vice-Admiral Tsuru to grunt. She failed in her mission to ambush and annihilate the Donquixote pirates in one fell swoop.

As Doflamingo's ship disappeared from her view, she called Sengoku and recounted everything that happened there. Nothing went as they planned.

Hearing the report, Sengoku had a blank look on his face. He sank back into his chair, rubbing his hands down his face in frustration.

The mission failure didn't affect him as much as Rosinante's betrayal. Sighing, he dialed Blaize's Den Den Mushi.

After a few rings, Blaize answered. "Hello?"

"Did you attack the Doflamingo pirates?" Sengoku asked.

"Yes."

"It looks like your strength improved further. What happened there?"

Blaize patiently explained everything, from Rosinante stealing the Devil Fruit, Vergo's espionage, Doflamingo's plan, and so on.

As for Ope Ope no mi and Law, Rosinante said that he will explain to Sengoku himself. So, Blaize left the part to him. It's his responsibility after all.

"Is Rosinante there?"

"Yes," Blaize replied.

"I want to have a word with him in private," Sengoku asked.

"Ok, I will leave the Den Den Mushi to him!" Saying this, Blaize gave the dial and walked away.

After fifteen or so minutes, Rosinante came back resolving the matter with Sengoku. Blaize doesn't know what he said, but Sengoku let him off the hook.

As for Blaize's request of placing Rosinante in his unit, he agreed. "Blaize, be careful. Doflamingo will definitely come looking for you since you killed Vergo, one of his executives."

"Good. I am getting bored in East Blue."

"When will you learn? Doflamingo isn't your ordinary man, he has a lot of connections and influence in the New World." Sengoku lectured.

"Hai! Hai! Don't worry, Sengoku-san!" Blaize ended the call. After treating Rosinante's wounds on the nearby Island, they returned to East Blue the next day.
