Chapter 157 - 'I will be back'

Five hours passed since the battle between Blaize and the World Government has begun, it was intense and destructive. If the battle had happened somewhere other than Red Line, it would have wiped out the entire Island.

"Sshhluck!"

The Elder with the Samurai sword flashed before Blaize and drove his sword to the heart. Though Blaize had seen the future, he's in no shape to dodge the attack.

So, he used the opportunity to seize the latter by his neck and punched him multiple times in the face, with his right fist that's imbued with Conqueror's Haki.

Even though the samurai-sword-wielding Elder defended with Armament Haki, Blaize's punch disfigured the Elder's face, broke his facial bones, and shattered his teeth.

Throwing the Elder like a rag, Blaize faced the incoming punch of Kong with his own, but the power behind the attack shoved him back a few meters.

The Five Elders and Commander-in-chief didn't pursue him but instead once again regrouped. They gazed at blood-covered Blaize in wonder.

"He's as strong as a Yonko. If we hadn't deprived his devil fruit power, it would have been more troublesome." The Elder with the birthmark on his forehead spoke.

"True. However, what astonishes me is his ability to heal from his injuries instantly. I thought it's his devil fruit ability but it seems like it comes from his physique." A long beard Elder state.

"He's more annoying than Kaido. If we had let him grow, he would have become a threat. Fortunately, we acted fast."

"It doesn't matter anymore as he's at the end of his line. His injuries had long stopped healing."

As the Elders discussed among themself, Kong stood somewhere away from them looking at Blaize. He had witnessed and experienced many things over countless years but he hadn't seen someone as terrifying as Blaize.

He saw how Blaize singlehandedly took out the World Government agents one by one and finally began to target them. Every single one of them on the battlefield is injured by the latter, even the Five Elders suffered under his hand.

He had seen how Blaize's strength improved as he battled them. His question is, What if the other party had support? Kong couldn't predict the outcome. It somewhat disturbed him.

--

Meanwhile, Blaize looked at his body that's drenched in his own blood. The last attack of the Elder completely damaged his heart and touched his left eye that's destroyed by one of the Elders.

Though he was super strong, he's a human being at the end of the day. Facing multiple figures of Yonko caliber, he couldn't maintain his powerful state.

Moreover, he finally couldn't suppress the tearing pain that he has been feeling from all over the body suffered from countless injuries and sword cuts.

Weakness assaulted him while he felt dizzy, it took all of his willpower just to stay conscious. The effect of exhausting his haki to the limit and overdrawing his life force to heal the injuries again and again.

Even so, he stood tall with his back straight without minding the heartbeat that's quieting down by every passing minute or his severe injuries.

Blaize could feel his life slipping away from him little by little. But, he was feeling happy and felt like laughing aloud as in his heart he didn't regret anything he had done.

The time may be short but he enjoyed life in the one-piece world to its fullest and even fought countless strong figures. He accomplished, what he missed from his previous boring life.

Death doesn't fear him. His only regret is, he couldn't say goodbyes to his loved one and the one he cares about. Countless figures that he met in the One Piece world flashed before his eyes.

Especially Hancock, he finally loves someone but regrets that he couldn't spend time with her.

True, he's impulsive and a little arrogant but the battle with Word Government is inevitable. Since they decided to eliminate him, nothing would have stopped them from achieving it.

If he hadn't come here today, they would have resorted to more vicious methods. He doesn't want to see the ones he cares about losing their lives in the process.

Finally, everything comes to one thing: He's not strong enough.

--

Far away,

Unknown to Blaize, four figures were watching the battle. They are none other than Regis, Rosinante, Airi, and Seia. After successfully rescuing Airi and Seia from the agents, they came to see the battle.

Seeing Blaize's sorry figure, tears poured from their eyes. "Blaize-san..."

"If not for us, Marine-san wouldn't be in this situation," Airi and Seia said in sadness.

"Don't feel guilty. The ones in the wrong are the World Government. They decided to eliminate Blaize-san so they will use any method to use against him." Rosinante comforted him and spoke to Regis,

"Regis, we should leave. If we stay any longer, someone will discover us."

"Five minutes..." Regis stated while Rosinante sighed.

---

Laughing a little, Blaize gazed at Kong and the Five Elders. "What are you all doing standing there? I am still alive you know."

"Not for long. Your heartbeat is barely beating, once per minute. It won't be long before you die." One of the Elders calmly stated.

They don't want to experience the same thing that happened to the samurai-sword-wielding Elder. Look at him, his entire face is smashed to pulp. It will take at least one month for him to heal from such injuries.

Facing someone of Blaize's caliber who's on the verge of death is a wrong move. Since he's dying on his own, there's no need for them to stain their hands.

"Pity, I thought I would at least bring one of you to death with me." Blaize chuckled and thought, 'So this is it for me huh...'

Closing his eyes, Blaize relished the last moment of his life. Just as he thought this is the end, the system notification sounded in his mind.

While a translucent screen emerged before him with a row of text,

[~ System Notification. Initiating the 'one-time' emergency protocol gifted by God.

Reason: The host's life force is on brink of fading away.

Establishing random teleportation...Co-ordinates marked.

Teleporting in 10, 9, 8... ~]

Blaize nearly laughed, when he looked at the Elders he understood they can't see the system screen.

"Five Elders, it's not the end it's just the beginning. I will come back stronger than ever. The next time we meet, it will be the end of all of you."

Saying this, Blaize laughed aloud. His words sent the Five Elders in bewilderment. But what happened next shocked them to the core.

Blaize's entire figure vanished from the spot without any sign.

"Where is he?" One of the Elders asked the blonde Elder who has the space power.

"I don't know." He shook his head as he couldn't sense even with his space power.

"Did someone help him? But I don't sense anyone within a few kilometers radius!"

"It doesn't matter. He's already on the brink of death, no one can save him. He's doomed to die." The Elder with the scar on the left side of his face spoke.

"True!"

"Let's go."

--

"Blaize-san disappeared? He didn't die!" Regis exclaimed with his fist clenched.

"Let's go. I can't hold on much longer." Rosinante spoke. He has been constantly using his devil fruit to avoid the Observation Haki of others from spotting them.

He can only hold on for another fifteen or so minutes. If they didn't leave, they will be discovered.

"Ok"
