Chapter 28 - Chapter Twenty-Eight

I turn around and look at the other car, which is when I see Kiyoharu and Hiroki.

Hiroki gets out of the car and runs up to me.

Hiroki: We have to leave now.

Yuki: No...I can't. If I go with you, my father will kill you guys.

Hiroki: Your father is getting arrested as we speak. If we don't leave, know the police will try and find you.

I look at Hiroki in surprise; my father is getting arrested. I look back at the driver and see that he is already knocked out, and Mirai is standing over him.

Yuki: What's going to happen to the driver?

Hiroki: I will answer all your questions once we get you to the safe house.

Hiroki then graves my hand and pulls me to the car. Once I am in, Kiyoharu drives off. I look behind us and see Mirai Putting the driver back in the car I was first in. I am still confused about what is going on as I sit and wait for us to get to the safe house. After a couple of hours, we pull up to an appointment complex.

Yuki: Where are we?

Kiyoharu: Kawagoe.

Hiroki: Chihaya is inside waiting for you.

Yuki: You guys aren't staying?

Hiroki: We have to go back and make sure Mirai is ok.

Kiyoharu: We will be back when it is safe for you to come home.

I look back at the apartment and see Chihaya coming out.

Chihaya: You guys shouldn't be out here for too long. Yuki lest go inside.

I say bye to Hiroki and Kiyoharu and follow Chihaya inside. I look around the room, and I see the living room and a hallway. The kitchen is on the other side of the room. I go down the hallway and find three doors. Two are the bedrooms, and one is the bathroom/washroom. I go back to the living room and see Chihaya is on the couch; he is looking at the tv. I turn to look at the tv and see that the news is on.

Newscaster: Breaking news today, The wealthiest man in Japan has just been arrested for having a black market auction, sex trafficking, smuggling illegal substances into Japan. Once they get him down to the police station, the police say he will be charged with at least twenty-four more crimes. People are saying that he has been doing this for over 35 years.

Yuki: It's amazing how they didn't found out till now.

Not expecting me to be in the room, Chihaya jumps a little when he hears my voice. He turns towards me, and I can see the worry on his face.

Yuki: You don't have to worry about me. You can still watch the news.

Chihaya: How are you feeling?

Yuki: I am fine.

I move closer to Chihaya and sit down on the couch.

Yuki: They didn't found out about how he killed my brother and mother.

Chihaya: You got your memory back?

Chihaya looks surprised, and then the next thing I know, I am being hugged. After a few minutes, I hug Chihaya back, and then that's when I start crying. I didn't think this would end with me getting out of that house alive. Now that my father has finally been arrested, I could live a normal life without having to hide or look over my shoulders. I start to cry more when I think about it.

After a couple of hours of crying on my cousin's shoulder, I go and make dinner. Once the table is set, we sit down and start to eat.

Yuki: So, how long will we be staying here? Will I be able to go back to work?

Chihaya: We will need to stay here till they have your father locked up for good. As of right now, there is still a chance that he could get out.

Yuki: Do you know how long that may take.

Chihaya: No, because of all the laws he broke, it could take a few months for them to be able to get a trial-ready. Till then, it won't be safe for you to go to work.

Yuki: How did the police get all that information? My father is a powerful person, so for him to get arrested for almost everything he has done is hard to believe.

Chihaya: Hiroki found out that there was an undercover cop in his mansion. But I don't think that was it. I think there might be someone else behind this. They arrested him on many charges, and no matter how many undercover cops there are, they wouldn't have gotten that much information within a month.

I don't say anymore as I think about who would want my father in jail. I think about everyone who knows my father and those that may have wanted him out of the way. I then think about how Eisuke and all of his friends. They all have the power to get any information they want when they work together. Was Eisuke behind my father getting arrested? But then why did he send me back to him? By the time I go to bed, I am still questioning everything thing that happened between Eisuke and me.
