"Wake up... Open your eyes..."
A bright light and a warm smile welcomes him making his tears to fall down in an instant.
"Y-you're finally here..."

A smiling Lucas greets Gray the next day who seems to be waiting for him at the school gate.
'He's smiling...'
He halts his steps as he could suddenly feel his heart racing wildly.
'What's going on? Why do I-'
"What's wrong? Why did you stop? We're gonna be late." He stares at Lucas in confusion. His face is so bright and calm, much different to his usual gloomy, dark, and cold appearance. Nothing really happened last night though he still can' t believe that he managed to get Lucas out of his convince much more to convince him to go back to school. He's not expecting much that's why he got really confused at his sudden 360 change.
"The class is about to start, we should hurry up." Lucas holds his wrist and gently drags him to walk.

And as expected, Lucas' sudden change sparked not only a confusion but amusement to their classmate. Still, they could feel the barrier he put up on himself and they still can't talk to him freely but looking at him, one could positively tell that he's indeed changed.
"What happened, Gray?" Castle can't help asking. "Didn't you went to his house last night? Did something happened there?"
"I don't know either." Gray answered truthfully with a hint of confusion on his tone. "He was on his usual forum last night. He didn't even talked to me so I don't have high hopes so I was really surprised..."
"Well, isn't that a good thing?"
"Huh?"
"It seems like he's gonna open up himself to others. It's a good thing, right?"
He secretly glances at Lucas only to find him already staring. He let out a small smile that surprised him. He quickly adverts his gaze with his mind full of questions.
'He' s smiling but it doesn't reach his eyes. It still looks dead. Is he just faking it? But what for?'

Breaktime.
"Gray! The weather' s really good today! Let' s play soccer!" One of their friends from other class barges in on their class and jumps at him.
"Sure, Sure!"
"You should join too, Castle!"
"Yeah, yeah."
A soft pull at the hem of his uniform catches Gray attention. He turns around to see Lucas standing in front of him. This is the first time he approached him first as he was always the first one making the move.
"Ah, right! We're gonna play soccer, wanna join us?"
Lucas slightly shakes his head and held his lunch box tightly.
"I want us to eat together. Can we?"
Gray gets taken aback at the sudden request. He switches looks on Castle and their friend while deciding what to do.
"Just follow us to the field after you eat." Cadtle decided and drags their friend outside leaving him and Lucas.
"L-let's go?" Gray awkwardly asks as Lucas keeps staring at him.
'It feels weird...'

The following hours passed by without any hassle until it reached the end of their class.
"Gray, wanna go-"
"Shall we head home?" Lucas suddenly appears behind them and stops Castle's sentence.
"Huh? But our way home are different from each other..."
"But I wanna walk home with you." He said as he secretly glances at Castle, seemingly asking him for something.
"It's fine with me... But..."
"It's okay, Gray. See you tomorrow." Castle already left the classroom before he could even protest. And thus, their walk home started.
'But we're going separate ways. Does he want me to drop him off at his house? I really couldn' t tell what he's thinking. I'm so confused right now.'
"Lucas-"
"Do you want to eat that?" He ask pointing to small retail shop sending fruit candies beside the road. He approaches it before he could give an answer and buys two of them, giving the other one to him.
"You used to like this, right?" He continued while nibbling the candy. Gray could only stare at him.
'How did he know I like this? I don' t remember telling him this.'
"I' m so happy..." Lucas whispered and stared at him with tears forming in his eyes.
"Lucas-" He closes the gap between them and rests his head on his shoulder.
"Don't leave me...Please stay with me forever..."
