Chapter 187 - Ex Couple

After submitting her report, the next day to her manager, Byeon Da-Jung sat on her chair and stretched her body. Just as she was taking the glass of water to drink, she was called by her manager. With an annoyed groan, Da-Jung pushed herself off the chair and walked to the manager's room. "You called, Team Manager Sina?"

The woman who was a year older than Da-Jung wore her spectacles which were on the table and gave a nod while looking at her.

"I checked your report, and it is good."

Da-Jung instantly smiled and pushed her hair which had fallen on her face, behind her ear. "Thank you!" She said being a bit shy with the compliment.

Manager Sina smiled back and rested her back on the chair. Tapping her nails on the table, she examined Da-Jung for a while and asked while arching an eyebrow "Do you know about the upcoming concert of Yang Woo-Jin?"

Da-Jung had already asked this question to Yang Woo-Jin. And she had received a positive reply from Woo-Jin regarding the concert. So, she gave a nod.

"Good!" Sina gave a satisfied smile and pointed at the empty chair in front of her. "Close the door and sit here. I have something important to discuss!"

Da-Jung looked at Sina being stupefied. However, she shook her head when Sina tapped on the table to bring her back to her senses. She did as told by her and sat on the chair. Moving a little closer, Manager Sina held Da-Jung's hand. "You know…" she stopped and rubbed Da-Jung's small hand. Da-Jung gave a weird look and blinked her eyes in an awkward way.

"You know… for this upcoming concert, Yang Woo-Jin is in search of a pianist… the news hasn't been published online but since our director of this company is good friends with Yang Woo-Jin, he told me to search for someone who can play the piano for him.

And as you already interviewed him and are good with musical instruments, you know… I was thinking if you could…."

"STOP!" As Da-Jung realized where this talk was going, she told Sina to stop.

"At least let me finish…"

"No! I know what you want me to do. You want me to go there as his help, right?"

When Sina gave a nod, Da-Jung removed her hand from Sina's hold and stood up with anger evident on her face. "I can't do that. I'm also not qualified for it. I don't even have a degree in music, how can you just ask me to do that?"

As Da-Jung snapped at Sina for thinking like this, Sina also snapped back at her. "You are asking 'how can I just ask you to do that?' I was the one who bought you into this company, Da-Jung… don't you think that you should do something to help me out?

You already know how the director is… if I won't be of any help, he would fire me instantly… and besides, you need a fixed position in this company, right? Just get this done and I will surely give you the position."

As Sina noticed the still angered expression on Da-Jung's face, she immediately knelt down on the floor.

"Hey! What are you…"

"Please, Da-Jung! Just this one time… I promise I won't ask you for anything else; not only that, I guarantee a fixed position for you in this company. So, please!"

Seeing Sina's desperate look, Da-Jung sighed. She helped her up and said with a suppressed smile "Fine! I will do it!"

"Really? Thank you so much!" Sina immediately engulfed Da-Jung in a big hug and kissed on her cheek. Da-Jung struggled under her hold and wiped the wet kiss on her cheek with the back of her hand.

"Lunch is on me today!" Sina quickly demanded and once again hugged Da-Jung.

Da-Jung scoffed and rolled her eyes at her friend's stupid behavior. "You always know how to blackmail me! But next time, don't kneel down and embarrass me!" Sina gave a smile and pulled Da-Jung again into a hug. Holding her by her arm, Sina took Da-Jung out of the company for a meal just as she had proposed.

While on her way to the restaurant, Sina looked at Da-Jung who was lost in her world. She felt bad for forcing her friend to do something which she not wanted to do. But she was curious as to why she was getting angry over matters concerning Woo-Jin.

So, she asked with curiosity in her tone "Between, why do you hate him so much?"

"He is my ex-husband!"

*SCREECH*

"What?" Sina immediately stepped on the brakes as she heard Da-Jung and due to the sudden brake, some other car from behind bumped into her car. Not paying any attention to the man who was dressed in a black suit knocking on her window, Sina looked at Da-Jung who was looking as if she had lost her soul.

"What do you mean by ex-husband?" Sina pulled Da-Jung by her shoulder and made her look back..

Sina and Da-Jung were high school friends. And by the time, Da-Jung came into university, Sina already had gone overseas to pursue her degree in Journalism. Da-Jung had also thought that her life would change just like her friend's but it had changed in a bad way, of course!

Since Sina had already left prior to her meeting Woo-Jin, she did not know anything about who Da-Jung married or dated. All she knew was that she was married to him for four years and divorced later.

She wanted to see who her husband was but she did not wanted to remind her friend of her past so, she didn't ask for any photos or the name of the person.

Now that Sina knew that Woo-Jin was her ex-husband, she understood why Da-Jung was so persistent to not go for the interview and also for this help regarding him. She began to feel bad for her friend who looked lifeless.

She wanted to talk more with her and know everything.

"Hey! Hey! Come out! LOOK AT THE DAMAGE YOU DID!" However, there was this man in black who was not allowing her to do so. Annoyingly Sina rolled down her window and yelled "WHAT???"

Hearing her, the man dressed in black got angered more and he began to open her door and pull Sina out.

"Excuse me? What are you doing to my friend?" When Da-Jung came back to her world, she saw the man dressed in black trying to open Sina's door. She immediately stepped out of the car, observed the damage which was done to Sina's car and then at the man's car.

Noticing how badly damaged Sina's car was compared to the man's car, Da-Jung angrily stomped towards the man and pulled him by his shoulder. Dragging him by his arm, she bought him to the rear trunk of Sina's car and showed him.

"See this, Mister! Our car is heavily damaged compared to yours. How can you behave like this when you are the one who smashed into our car and gave us a strong damage?"

Sina also stepped down and looked at the damage which was done to her car. With an angry glare, she walked towards the young man and asked for compensation. While the two again were beginning to have a fight, the man received a call. With that call, he immediately walked back to his car's back seat and talked with the person seated inside.

Da-Jung and Sina both looked at the man who was just walking away when a quarrel was about to begin with a dumb look on their face.

"Such a pain in the ass!" Sina sneered and saw the man coming near to them.

At first both Sina and Da-Jung prepared themselves to have a good verbal fight with this man who was approaching them again after having a small talk with the owner seated in the back seat; but as soon as he saw the man bowing towards them, both Sina and Da-Jung gave a pleased look.

Although, they were confused and surprised at first but considering how it wasn't their fault, they gave pleased smiles. As said by his boss, the man handed them the card and said them that his boss would get the repair done for their car. Sina accepted the card and the two walked back inside the car.

Meanwhile, the man who was dressed in black also sat inside the car and looked at his boss through the rear view mirror. "I gave them the card, Sir. They said they will contact you."
