"YOU ARE FIRED!"
"What?" Before Mirae could even react, she saw her manager leave. She looked at his retreating back with an unexpected look on her face. 'You... are... firing... me?' She looked at him with her mouth open wide.
"Huh? I'm fired? How?" As Mirae was still rooted in her place, she saw her manager come again, this time with a bag and few other things in his hand. He threw the bag on the floor and said "These are your things. TAKE THEM AND LEAVE!"
"But why? What did I do wrong?" Mirae looked up at her manager who was fuming greatly with anger. She had never seen such a fearsome look on his face. It just felt as if the Grim Reaper was standing right before her eyes.
"What did you do wrong?" The manager asked her in a mocking manner. "You don't even listen when I speak, Mirae... what is the use of keeping you here when you don't even listen to the instructions and do as you please, huh?"
Mirae looked at him even more surprised. His reasoning was just baseless. 'How could he even say that when I am the one who always listens to him and follows his order more than anyone else?' She thought in her mind and asked while pointing out her finger "How can you say that, Manager? I always listen to you and follow what you say!"
Mirae's patience was now reaching it's peak. His reasons were just made out of the blue with no proper truth....
"You did it this time... And see, even now, you are not listening to me." Her manager gave a sly grin and Mirae scoffed. She had completely lost her patience. She was no longer the same Mirae anymore... She had to show this to everyone who thought that she was lenient, calm and easy-going...
Mirae kneeled down on the floor. Her manager took a step back thinking that Mirae would beg while holding his knees. Instead, he was very much surprised when he saw Mirae opening her bag and checking her things inside.
He also scoffed and said "Don't think that I will take any of your stuffs. I don't also need such cheap stuffs like yours. Hmph!"
"Okay!" Mirae replied and stood up. She shrugged her shoulders and said "I never intended to give my stuff to a 'CHEAPPSKATE' like you." She enunciated more on the word 'Cheapskate' and gave an evil grin after witnessing her manager who was at a loss of words.
Mirae waved her hands to the manager and said "You don't need to fire me; I resign from this café. Who the f*ck would like to work in a café where there are no more than two waiters, huh?" She began to walk out of the staff only room when something crossed her mind.
Mirae turned around and looked at the manager who seemed like he had lost his ability to speak. She giggled and continued "Besides, who would want to work with a Cheapskate like you? Haha!!!"
"You...." The manager could no longer do anything and he took deep breaths to calm himself down.
After everything was over, Mirae came out of the staff only room. The smile which she had on her face, faded and she shook her head. "Good! I lost my job." She said to herself and looked for James. However, the place where he had sat was empty.
Mirae sighed and walked out of the café. She swore to never see this café again.
Just as she walking, an SUV stopped in front of her and she looked at the tinted windows. The window rolled down and she saw James sitting inside.
"Get in! I will drop you home... "
James said and pushed open the front door for Mirae.
****
After a ten minutes' drive, Mirae finally spoke. She was in no mood of speaking and James was the only one who was speaking to her for the past ten minutes.
But after ten minutes, Mirae said with some sadness in her voice "I got fired from my job. No, I resigned. It was better to resign than to be fired from that reckless job." And honestly after saying that, Mirae felt so good.
It is true that in life you need someone to share things with. Mirae felt very much relieved after saying that to James.
However, she was surprisingly amazed by his simple answer "Hmm, I see! That is good."
"Good?" She turned her head to face him. "What do you mean by 'good'?"
"Good means good!" James shrugged his shoulders and replied nonchalantly. "I have a proposal for you and I guess it would be great since you no longer have a job, now. What do you say? Will you be interested?"
"A proposal?" Mirae asked being surprised, excited and nervous at the same time. Her heart again started to go Ba-Dump, Ba-Dump and she felt like she could cry out of happiness.
"Why don't you come and work in my company?"
Soon her heart sank down to the least level and she looked at him shocked, with her eyes wide open like an owl.
"Your company?" Thankfully, Mirae didn't get lost in her thoughts and asked something to James instead of staying quiet.
James gave a nod and continued "I actually am in need of an assistant. I thought of asking you before..."
