Chapter 151 - The Pain of Losing Someone Dear

Yeon Ah gave a nod and continued "Yes, I want to work here. I am already doing two jobs and if I do another one, I will be able to make enough money to return everyone."

"But..."

Before Sungjin could say, Yeon Ah interjected him "Please, Sungjin Oppa! Just help me like you did yesterday."

"Umm... Okay!"

As Yeon Ah heard a positive reply from Sungjin, she quickly hugged him and said "Thank you very much, Sungjin Oppa! Thanks a lot!"

Sungjin's heart raced when he felt her sudden hug and he looked at her face which was sparkling brightly unlike yesterday's. But he had to control because there was no way he was going to backstab on his friend who was madly in love with this woman who was hugging him, right now!

"Uhh... I think you... you can start working by tonight." Sungjin pushed her and said while hiding his flushed cheeks. He turned around and faced the wall.

"Or start whenever you feel like joining." He scratched his neck and placed the cheque book inside his desk. When he heard the door close, he sat down on the swivel chair with a thump.

"Huff! That was hard."

Later at night, Yeon Ah happily dressed into her costume and started her job. Well, working as a barmaid was a hectic job considering the loud noise and crowd in the nightclub but as of now, Yeon Ah could only think of this job...

Though she didn't have time to rest, she served with a smile on her face. Back in university days, she had attended clubs quite a few times so, she knew how things worked. While waiting for orders to come, she took out her phone and frowned.

"What is with this guy? He didn't even call until now. Ha! Scumbag!"

"Are you waiting for Ji Sang to call, huh?" Just as she was frowning while looking at her phone, she was startled to hear Sungjin's voice behind her.

"Sungjin Oppa... That is not the thing." When Sungjin shot her a questionable look, she sighed and said "Well, yeah! He didn't call or anything after he said something yesterday. So, I was..."

"Ji Sang's father passed away."

Hearing Sungjin's sudden words shocked Yeon Ah to the core and she looked at him with an unbelievable look on her face.

"Passed away?"

"It happened yesterday. An accident."

Yeon Ah couldn't believe what she heard. She had met Ji Sang's father for a few times and she knew how good his father and how much Ji Sang loved his father. After his mother's death, his father was the only one by his side.

And now when his father had also left him, she could understand of how hurting it was... Because she too had gone through that phase.

When her parents had told her to leave the house and never see them again, it was very difficult for her. She was hurt by her father's harsh words.... Not only that she was very broken when she got to know that her father had become ill because of her.

She knew the pain when someone dear leaves the world and you become all lonely.

"How is Ji Sang?" And because of this familiar pain, she could only ask that question.

"Barely holding on. When he comes, he will surely visit you. So, please treat him well, Yeon Ah!" Sungjin patted her shoulder and looked with a dull look on his face.

"But..." Yeon Ah sighed "I will. Don't worry, Sungjin Oppa!"

The next day, Yeon Ah walked to the hospital all lifeless. It seemed as if her soul left her body and she was walking just like a zombie without any energy or life within her.

She worked a lot. Not only it was because of her job but because she wanted to distract herself from that pain. Ji Sang's father was a very friendly person and he was very nice and kind to her. She couldn't stop herself from thinking about Ji Sang's father.

It just felt like he was with her yesterday and she lost him all of a sudden.

"I am sorry, Ji Sang!" She didn't know why but she just felt like apologizing to him.

Just as she had opened the door to see her father, she felt a hard thing hitting her forehead and shattering down after hitting the floor. A strong pain began to erupt and she touched her forehead. She looked at the person who threw the glass at her and tears started to emanate from her eyes.

In the midst of thinking about Ji Sang's father, Yeon Ah had forgotten that she still couldn't meet her father. Her mother had called her and asked her not to come.

But after hearing Ji Sang's father's news, Yeon Ah just forgot all about it and wanted to see and hug her father.

"Sorry Dad!" She walked towards her father and hugged him. Even if her father was to choke her to death, she had no need to worry about hugging her father. She didn't want to lose him... not anymore.

Her father was even more agitated by her hug and he began to hit her. When her mother started to interrupt, he stopped her and hit her again.

"Let go of me, you idiot child! I don't like you. I hate you!!!"

"Even if you are to kill me, I won't let go of you, Dad! I would never do so."

As her father got tired of removing his daughter's hand, he stopped hitting her and began to cry. He softly patted her back and cried while embracing her "You are very stubborn. Daddy is sorry."

Yeon Ah heard her father's words and her eyes beamed with happiness. She quickly kissed her father on her cheek and hugged him. Resting her hand on his shoulder, she called out for her mother and hugged her too.

"Now, we shall stay as a happy family!" Yeon Ah smiled while her parents caressed her hair and kissed her cheek.
