"Are you new here?" There was no hint of gentleness in his voice. The same cold voice with a poker look.
Mina gave a nod. "Yes, Director Kim! It is my first day today."
Kim Young Min looked around towards his employees with the same icy glare. He gave a nod as if he asked it formally and said, "Have a good day then, Miss!"
Son Mina gave a smile and bowed. She repeated the same "Thank you, Director Kim! Good day to you too!" As she saw him leave, she took a deep breath and sighed. 'Great!! I can breathe freely now!' She saw the time on her wrist-watch and grunted "Damn!! Manager Cha told me to report at 9 and it is 9:05 already?? I'm done… So… So… done!!"
With long, quick steps, she strode towards the elevator and since the elevator was taking time to come down, she took the stairs.
After reaching the fourth floor, she began panting. As if facing Kim Young Min wasn't enough, she soon faced another monster who had made Lee Yura's work life tragic and that was none other than Manager Cha or Cha Dong Jin.
Son Mina's breathings hadn't even turned normal and behind her Manager Cha came like a ghost spooking her.
"Very well!! Late on the very first day, Miss Lee!" He remarked. This Manager Cha was the worst character in the entire comic. Son Mina hated him so much that whenever she saw him in the comic, she would scribble up on his face and cuss him.
Thanks to her fantasy world, she had learned quite many bad words and she was happy that she learned it. At least they were useful for her to curse on this guy. Hearing the old man's pathetic remark, Son Mina's mouth was already filled with curses but, she held it in.
Maybe some other day but, not today!!
She turned around and bowed. "Good morning, Manager Cha! I wasn't late… It was just that… "
"That whatever… Just carry on with your work and don't be late from next time onwards!" Manager Cha quietly said his words and left Mina dazed.
"He didn't even let me complete!! But, what bought this sudden change in him?" Mina turned around and saw where Manager Cha was going. The old guy was walking towards a lady who was standing somewhere near a room.
"Hah!! This man and that woman!! They actually are doing it in the morning?" Mina gritted her teeth and prayed that she should never walk upon those two together otherwise, it would be awkward for her. Nevertheless, she was gonna have a good time over here at the company.
Why?? There were just too many reasons. 'Poor Yura had to go through all of this!!' Mina felt bad while thinking about her. "But, again… It is just a comic!" She murmured and introduced herself to everyone. Her manager wasn't doing... so, she just did it on her own!
****
At exact 8:30pm, Son Mina pushed herself out off her chair. Everyone had left and she was the only one working in this empty office room. She sighed. Despite of acting bold and cunning, these people still gave her enough work to do which made her stay for long.
All she was doing was warming that chair and typing and typing… "Damn!! My hands hurt!" She winced and stretched out her body.
Previously, she was feeling bad for Lee Yura and now she was feeling bad for herself. She was in her place doing everything which Yura had done.
She kept all her stuff inside her bag and took the two files which were to be delivered to the Director's room. She could have done it in the morning but, Mina didn't want to face him early in the morning. Seeing him from afar was enough to fulfill her incomplete heart rather than facing him from up close.
As she came inside his room which was on the fifth floor, she was surprised to see the huge spacious room, which was decorated very beautifully, like a piece of an art!! He also had the same color choices as hers, Grey and Black!
Maybe he was a neat freak cause there was no single thing kept astray. Everything was kept just in place.
She walked towards his table to place the files and her eyes fell on his coat. She saw his coat hung above his swivel chair and instantly she became stunned.
"Why is his coat here? Is he… still inside?"
Just as those questions left her mouth, she heard the door behind her open. She quickly turned around holding those files in her hand. She had a terrified expression on her face as her eyes met his cold blue eyes. She quickly diverted her gaze and bowed.
"Good evening, D… Director Kim! I did… didn't know you were still here!" She was reluctant to open her mouth and speak but, when she felt his icy glare on her, she couldn't help but open her mouth.
"I… I came to… p… put these files on your table!" She pointed at the files in her hand and quickly placed them on the table while still having her eyes fixed on him. Her heart was beating so crazily that she was afraid that he would hear it too.
After all, there was no other commotion in the room except for her stammered words. "I will leave then, Director Kim!" Son Mina got no response and this silence was creeping her out. She could no longer control her rapid beating heart and she just wanted to escape. She quickly walked further and stood in front of him.
Kim Young Min was still standing at the door while his hand was still on the doorknob. As Son Mina stretched out her hand to put it on the doorknob, she saw his hand on it and she quietly pulled her hand behind.
Okay!! So… she was standing quite near to him and she didn't know what to do.
She could feel his gaze on her, and no words were escaping out from her mouth such that if they did, she would be able to make him move. She kept her gaze lowered fixated on her own hand which was fiddling with the other as she didn't know what could be done. At this time of the moment, she felt her mind which was filled with all sorts of fantasies empty.
'Ohh god!! He can at least move away, right? So that I can open the door and leave… Why is his hand still fixated on that doorknob?'
Mina was broken from her thoughts when she heard his loud masculine voice "Isn't it your first day?"
"Yes, it is!" Mina gave a nod while her eyes were still on his hand which was placed on the doorknob.
Finally, she saw him lifting up his hand and she quickly took hold of the doorknob and opened it. "Alright, Director Kim!! I will get going!" She gave a deep bow and was about to step out of the room when she felt something touch her wrist.
She turned and saw Kim Young Min holding her wrist. She widened her eyes giving him the look of an owl.
"I didn't say that you could leave, Miss!" He looked at her face with a sly grin.
'Gosh!! Why does his smile look like he is going to do something dangerous to me?' Mina blinked her eyes quite a lot of time to clearly see what she was seeing. There was a sly smile on his face! But why?? Why Oh! Why?
