He awoke with a start, body drenched in sweat. When did he log out of the game and get in bed? He couldn't remember anything after falling unconscious in game. What was going on? His head was heavy and pulsed with pain, throbbing as he sat up in his bed.
The sun shine brightly through his window on the second story of the old apartment building he lived in. What time was it he wondered. He glanced over and the clock read 11:00am.
"Ughhh! I way over slept," he groaned as he rolled out of bed and got to his feet.
His morning went pretty quickly and effortlessly. Eggs for breakfast, a quick shower and a fresh change of clothes. He took a few drinks into his room and set them in the mini fridge next to his bed. He wanted to get back to his life as Zalin as soon as possible. He downed a bottle of water then grabbed the DreamGear. Checking to make sure it was fully charged, he placed it on his head and layed down.
Turning it on, he closed his eyes and started the game.
Zalin opened his eyes and looked around him. He had logged in and appeared at the very same spot he had been stabbed. Briefly checking his status bar and person to make sure he wasn't still suffering from the mortal wound, he sighed with relief seeing no injury or penalty, just a scar where the blade had pierced him. He was sure how, but he ended up here though. He was certain he had been dragged away by that young woman. He wanted answers, but he needed to be stronger first. It was time to check his quest log and see what needed to be done.
Zalin opened his quest log in and looked at the three quests that needed to be done:
Quest: Shadows of the Lost Lands:
- Quest Objective: Talk to Novice Alchemist Lycen in the Black Alchemist's Guild
- Quest Rewards: Black Alchemist's Note, Black Leather Armor, 500 experience, 56 copper
Quest: The Gates of the Shadow Lands
- Quest Objective: Talk to Journeyman Alchemist Groat
- Quest Reward: Shadow Pendant, Shadow Cloak, 1000 experience, 1 silver 43 copper
Quest: Collect Death Orchids for the Black Alchemist's Guild
- Quest Objective: Collect Death Orchids for Novice Alchemist Drear, Death Orchids can be found just outside the Citadel of Shadows
- Quest Reward: Black Leather Leggings, 300 experience, 46 copper
Zalin browsed over the three quests he had lined up again and settled on the easiest task, to collect the twenty Death Orchids, and headed back around the Citadel to the main entrance. It was time to level and start his adventures in Alrisia.
