Vasco woke up from his sleep and look at his alarm clock. It was 6 a.m in the morning and he feels tired because yesterday he went practicing martial arts with his father. Today will be his first day going to the academy to learn more about energy.
"What kind of dream is that?"
"I think I might be too tired"
"Better get some more sleep before the welcome ceremony started."
Vasco sleeps back but what he did not realize is that on his right hand has a small silver ring. Then it disappears.
...
"VASCO WAKE UP! YOU ARE LATE FOR THE WELCOME CEREMONY!" Vasco mom Anna yelled.
He wakes up and check his phone. It is 8.30 a.m and he is pretty late because the ceremony starts at 9.
"Fuck I'm late!"
He dashes to the bathroom and starts to get ready.
Vasco family is a small family consist of his mother Anna, his father Brian, his little sister Cassie and Vasco in the house. They are just an average family lived in a double story house. Brian is a retired soldier and a martial artist while Anna is a baker and sells her famous delicious biscuits in her own shop. The city that they lived in is called Desine.
Today should be the day he go to the academy to start his studies about energy and how to use energy. The academy is located just outside of their city and it is connected by a portal that teleport which there is also other cities like Desine connected to the academy.
'Thud!Thud!Thud!' (Sound of footsteps running on the stairs)
"Mom! Dad! I'll be going first!" yelled Vasco while running down the stairs.
"Hey! At least eat the sandwiches that I made!" Anna yelled back.
"ERGHH! Okay mom." Vasco turns to the kitchen and eats the sandwich.
"Make sure you eat properly, don't cause any trouble, be kind to others, help those who needed help and most importantly you need to come back here at least once a month." said Anna.
"Yeah mom I'll try." Vasco reply with his mouth full.
"Be good and do your best but don't die son." Brian said while reading the newspaper.
"Hahaha okay dad but where is Cassie?" asked Vasco while wolfing his sandwiches down.
"She's upstairs asleep. She's tired from all the crying last night when she heard you were going to the academy today." Anna smile while looking upstairs.
"Tell her I'm going and when I get back I want to see progress on her martial arts." said Vasco after he drank a glass of water and then get up and walked to the front door.
"Mom! Dad! I'll be going first!. Love you guys!. See you guys later!" he yelled and closes the door.
He goes to his motorcycle, start it up and then speeding to reach the academy.
While inside the house.
"Our son has grown up Anna." Brian said after he put down the newspaper.
"I'm worried about him Brian but I'm more worried about Cassie. You know how he always pamper his little sister and Cassie might be sad." Anna said with a worried face.
"Don't worry. Cassie is a big girl and she will understand eventually." Brian continued reading the newspaper.
"I hope so." Anna said.
Upstairs in Cassie bedroom.
Cassie watch from her window to see her brother go to the academy while murmuring softly to herself.
"Brother in 2 years I will catch up to you and make you admit that I am a genius."

This world is a world that revolves around magic, aura, and qi energy. But everything here in this world worked in magic. Electronics and transportation exists with the use of magic although those who had power like to use their energy to fly. The city is just the same as the city in earth but more unpopulated as earth. They lived in a big city and each of them had a big wall circulated around them. There are many types of beasts and there is also magic equipment and divine items.
Vasco arrived at the portal at the middle of the city and parked his motorcycle. The portal is a semi circular shape with blue like water circling in it. He shows the gatekeeper his ID and inform his destination. The gatekeeper nods and set the destination to the academy.
"You may enter the portal now." said the gatekeeper.
"Thanks." reply Vasco and he enter the portal with a smile.

Vasco came out of the portal and he feels dizzy.
"I feel dizzy and wanna throw up." he said while holding his stomach.
"It's a first time experience I think. No wonder mom forbid me to go through the portal." he thought to himself.
He looks in front of him and saw the gate of the academy. He walks to the gate and before he could enter.
"Halt! Who goes there?" asked a guard stationed at the academy gate.
"I am a student and I'm late for the welcome ceremony." Vasco said.
"Show me your ID and student card." said the guard.
"Here it is." Vasco give it to the guard.
The ID has already been given at someone since birth and it will auto update the picture on the ID once every year unless the person is confirmed dead 24 hours while the student card is given to each teenager that is coming of age 16 and will auto disappear when it is enough 3 years time.
The guard look at the ID and the student card then scanned both of them. The guard pass back Vasco ID and student card to him and said
"Confirmed. You may enter now and you might wanna be at the welcoming ceremony now before it starts."
"Thank you." Vasco said and ran towards the hall.
The gate of the academy had a scanner to scan someone without him having to takeout his ID or student card. So students may enter freely without any worries. But if a person does not have a student card or the person student card have not scanned yet by the guards then the gate will informed the guard about the person trespassing.
Vasco ran straight to the hall while follow the direction given on the walkway, he was almost lost but found the right path and as he enters the hall he was shocked. Inside the hall there are many chairs that can fit up to fifteen thousand students and five hundred teachers and it is full to the brim while at the stage of the hall there is a big banner that written 'Welcome Ceremony of New Students'.
A male student came towards him and asked
"Are you a new student? Come inside and let me take you to your seat because the ceremony is almost started." said the student.
Vasco follow him without question and arrived at his seat. Besides his seat is a handsome blonde guy with semi curly hair. Vasco thanked the student and as he sat down the blonde guy hand out a hand to him.
"Hey, what's your name?" ask the blonde guy.
"Vasco, you?" Vasco reply while shaking his hand.
"I'm Peter, nice to meet you. By the way you are quite handsome." said Peter with a smile.
"Is this blonde guy gay?" Vasco thought to himself.
"Nice to meet you too. Thanks for the compliment and so do you." reply Vasco to Peter.
By the time Vasco said that, they hear the microphone ringing with someone tapping on it and said.
"Ah! Testing. Testing. Hello new students! Welcome to the Storm Academy!" said the person on the stage.
(Sounds of clapping hands)
"I am Allan McKenny, your headmaster of the academy ." said the headmaster.
"Now I love to see new faces with passion and high spirits to learn about energy. Every year the new students keep on coming with a lot of potential and power. I hope this year will be the same and maybe the best year. I'm expecting more from you lot and not to forget the seniors of the academy. As you can see sitting behind me is your teachers and all I wanted to remind you is that always respect your teachers. Make sure to make good memories and study diligently. Before I end my speech let me say my last words. WELCOME NEW STUDENTS TO THE STORM ACADEMY!" the headmaster said.
"This is going to be an amazing year in my life." said Vasco to himself.
Little did he know that the words he just said might make him hate himself later.
