Chapter 7 - Draug

"Alice, why does it look like we're walking in circles and I didn't see any stairs?"

"Because the master's property was built in a circular fashion, a library is built in the middle of the mansion and has 4 floors"

"How do we get down?" Elena feels tired, who knows how long she would go around in circles if she hadn't realized it.

"There are doors leading to the library."

"Can you show me which door leads to the library?"

"Yes" The ghoul is still standing beside her, Elena enjoys her aching head.

"Are you going to show me which door is it?"

"No"

"Why?" Elena wanted to know what Alice had against her.

"A ghoul only obeys his master."

"Your master told you to show me the mansion."

A ghoul pointed to a door and a window. "This is a door and there is a window."

Elena looked at her for a moment and think, 'Are you serious? '. She then turned and opened the nearest door, it was a room much like her own, 12 doors later she was almost back to her own room. When she opened the 13th door she almost laughed when she saw a huge library, a reminder of a simpler time, when she was in modern times, and the world of books was what allowed her to travel to so many different worlds, when everything was a fantasy and not the reality.

"The thirteenth room, really?" She then noticed that there were several people in the room, well, several beings, some looked more like Alice, a little gray skin and red eyes, some looked like Victor, silver eyes and dark blue hair and there were other things too. She saw a ghost cross the floor to go to the lowest floor. "Why did I have to be sent to the capital of the undead ... why not the capital of fairies? Or the capital of elves?"

"The fairy capital is currently one of our enemies and the elven capital was destroyed by humans a few centuries ago." Said a wight behind her.

Elena made a great effort not to scream, the translucent being that speaking to her looked like she imagined the bloody Baron of Harry Potter.

"Um ... um ... a ghost? Are you a ghost? " Ask Elena

"A newbie?" He asked Alice, who nodded. "I'm actually a Wight, a spirit that continues to roam the earth for leaving unfinished things."

Elena wanted to ask if this was not the same for all ghosts, but the wight seemed very proud of what he was. And she wouldn't want to hear a dissertation on the differences between ghosts, Alice shaking her head behind him was also a tip.

"Welcome to the world of the undead." He smiled. "Which family do you belong to? Your hair is bluish black like Fernsby's, but your eyes are not silver."

"Unfortunately the master is waiting for us." Said Alice and took Elena to the stairs.

"Run." Vicent looked between the old man and the woman.

"What's your name?" The boy thought of a way to save him

"Usten" The old man seemed to notice his intention and kicked him out of the car.

Vicent fell on his back and was caught by Leiad, one of the ship's dwarves. She held it and gave three pulls on the rappel rope on which it was attached.

"Until another day, kitten!" He looked down and saw the white-haired woman looking at him from the train.

When they reach the ship's deck, there were at least 15 new people, all of whom were really young, which is normal among those taken by the Empire. The stranger really was that old man, Usten.

"What the hell was that ?" Vicent wondered.

"What happened? You didn't answer for a while and the device stopped working." Said the captain.

"One of the guards must have been wearing ear plugs , she destroyed the device and cut the rappel." He looks silly now, there was no reason to be so frightened before. Of course, she looked like a psychopath, cut a rope like nails and seemed to know him ... Who was he kidding? She was terrifying.

"They are getting more and more intelligent, in some other cars other guards have not passed out either. We haven't been able to rescue even half of them!"

"Christopher! Change the boat's direction, let's go to the metal city, there will be others waiting for them!" The captain shouted at his vice.

When Edwin, also called Ghoul 4, necessarily arrived at the castle among the workers. A roar of anger could be heard from a distance.

"How come you lost all communication with the Rosath's family ?!" A voice came from the castle. "Find out what happened, no, actually , send reinforcements quickly! We can't lose Unsten!"

"Usten"

"What ?"

"But ... But ... Your Majesty, we are without a human army in the capital today." Said the Empress' aide

"Then send the skeletons, the ghouls, even the vampires! I don't care. The number one priority now is to get Usten! Dead or alive! Find a necromancer urgently, in case he dies."

Ghoul 4 turned and ran to his master, it was obvious what the current problem was. These humans attack the empire, as if they are not the ones who protect them from the other fantastic beings on the continent. What Edwin does not realize is that for humans all of these beings, with the exception of elves and dwarves, are considered legends in the Empire.

Elena and Alice left the library and headed for the garden. Up close she realized that many of the plants were phosphorescent, they glowed in the dark, and that most of them were different from anything she had ever seen.

"I wouldn't touch it if I were you. It's a sleeping draug," said Alice, when Elena went to touch a flower that looked like it was born from a rock.

"Draug?" Asked Elena walking away. She then observed that the rock had a face.

"They are a type of undead that goes into symbiosis with animals or plants or... well anything. This is the most harmless type, it does photosynthesis with the plants in his body. The biggest danger it presents is to talk a little too much."
