...Blaze is looking for Topaz, irritated about Topaz's absence.
"Guards! Where is my daughter? She has not returned." Blaze asks and informs
"We will locate her immediately, your Highness." A guard says
"I will try calling her again."
As for Emerald and Topaz, they're in Emerald's basement; talking and caressing each other's sides. Yep, they're dating now.
"So, what's it like at home?" Emerald asks
"It's awful. My mother hates me for my homosexuality and keeps me locked within the castle walls. But if my father goes out, I've got to join him." Topaz answers, lowering her ears
"Oh, my. I'm so sorry about that."
"It's not your fault, at least I'm accepted here."
"And that'll never change, babe."
Emerald then caresses Topaz's cheek and kisses her, for Topaz's communicator to sound. As if on cue to kill the mood.
"Who's that?"
"It's my mother, I've gotta take this."
Topaz walks to the other side of the basement to take the call; to be confronted by Blaze.
"Alright, alright. I'll be home soon. Bye now."
Topaz cuts communications, lowering her ears.
"Are you alright, babe?"
"I've gotta go home."
"Can't you stay for longer?"
"No, unless you take me to your roof."
"It's late though."
"I wanna show you something."
Emerald and Topaz go to the roof, to see Shadow standing alone.
"Father, what are you doing here?" Emerald asks
"I'd ask the same to you." Shadow responds
"Wait, you're a vampire too?" Topaz asks
"What's going on?" Emerald asks
Shadow soon turns into a vampire, with fangs and bat wings.
"You were saying..." Shadow says
"Wait, is this what Topaz means?" Emerald asks
"Yes, it is."
"What about you Topaz?"
Topaz soon turns into a vampire, with the same features as Shadow.
"Oh, my gosh! You, father... vampires!" Emerald says, shocked
"We won't hurt you, that's for sure." Topaz reassures Emerald
"But vampires suck... blood!"
"We're the type that takes blood from willing participants only. Other vampires... aren't as empathetic." Shadow informs
"Everyone keeps saying that vampires don't exist. Well, they're wrong."
"But we need to remain a secret. So, you need to lower the volume."
"Oh, sorry father."
Topaz soon looks into the distance, becoming upset. Emerald notices and approaches her.
"Are you alright, Topaz?" Emerald asks
"I wish I could do this every night. But my mother always keeps me inside. That being said, I need to go home. Goodbye for now." Topaz answers
"See you later, babe."
Topaz then turns into a bat and flies into her bedroom window. She enters her bedroom, goes under her quilt, and turns back into a Cat, falling asleep. Morning comes and Topaz is awoken by the sunlight. Soon, Blaze the Cat enters Topaz's bedroom.
"And where have you been?" Blaze asks, unimpressed
"Out and that's not a nice way to say good morning. Topaz responds, tiredly
"You have been away from home for six months, young feline. Where have you been?"
"Out."
"You've not been with those Hedgehogs have you?"
"No, do I look like an idiot?"
"You have six months' worth of etiquette to catch up on; in six weeks!"
Topaz groans in disappointment and tiredness as books are put on her desk.
"Now, get to work; your exam is in six weeks."
"I want to do what others my age do, not sit inside reading books on manners and how to dress."
"Nonetheless, get to work Topaz the Cat."
Topaz reluctantly gets to studying. As for Emerald, she's searching for ways to contact Topaz.
"Are you alright, Emerald?" Sapphire asks
"I want to talk to Topaz, but how?" Emerald answers, asking
"Come with me, I think I've got a solution."
Emerald follows Sapphire to the library, becoming confused.
"Why are we in the library?"
"Keep following, I've got something to show you."
Soon, the two relatives enter a secret room, filled with wrist communicators.
"What's with all the communicators?"
"I've been collecting these devices for about five years; not all of them work though."
"So, why keep them?"
"To keep track of their development. Anyway, back to why we're here."
Emerald follows Sapphire into another room, this time with one communicator instead of several.
"Is this why you brought me here?"
"Yes, I'm giving this one to you. You'll be able to talk to Topaz using it."
"How?"
"Topaz's contact communicator has been automatically stored onto its memory."
"Thank you, mother."
Emerald soon hugs Sapphire, tightly
"It's quite alright, sweetheart. Now, I'm guessing you want to talk to Topaz."
"Yes, thank you again mother."
Emerald is soon trying to find a way out.
"Mother, could you guide me out of here?"
"Certainly, don't forget your communicator."
Emerald picks up the communicator and follows Sapphire out of the library. As for Topaz, what feels like two hours have passed and she has fallen asleep whilst studying. Blaze soon enters and bangs on the desk, waking Topaz up.
"Huh, what time is it?" Topaz asks, tiredly
"Still study time; get up and get back to it!" Blaze informs, instructing
"Can you at least let me have a break?"
"Alright, two hours and then back to studying."
Blaze leaves the room as Topaz starts to sleep on her bed, for her communicator to sound.
"Hello, who's this?" Topaz greets, asking
"Hey, babe. It's Emerald." Emerald responds
"Hey, baby. How are you?"
"I'm all good thanks. Are you okay? You sound exhausted."
"I've been studying etiquette all morning and fell asleep."
"Oh, my. Do you want me to cut communications for now?"
"Yes, please."
"Okay, see you later my vampiress."
"Goodbye now, babe."
Soon, communications are cut, and Topaz falls asleep. Four hours later, Topaz is rudely awoken by Blaze.
"Get up and study; I said two hours, four hours ago!" Blaze instructs
"Leave me alone, I'm not meant to be up right now..." Topaz responds, tiredly
"Why is that?"
"You know why."
"Vampire or not, being awake now won't hurt you. Get up!"
Topaz groans as she gets out of bed and gets back to studying. Dennis watches and comes in.
"Dear, a word." Dennis instructs
Blaze follows Dennis out of the room, closing the door behind them.
"What is it?" Blaze asks
"You're pushing Topaz too hard and being up during daylight hours isn't healthy for her."
"She has not been here for six months and needs to catch up somehow."
"And giving Topaz six months' worth of work to do in six weeks isn't the answer. Being part vampire, she needs to sleep at the right time. This is so she has the energy required to feed."
"How do you know this?"
"I'm a vampire as well. I've had time to adjust to daylight feeding and sleeping at night. But not all vampires, Topaz for instance, can adjust to this, even if they were to try. If this were to carry on, Topaz will die."
"She still needs to catch up."
"Nonetheless, Topaz still needs her sleep. Leave her alone. Also, it's obvious that Topaz isn't interested in royal etiquette."
"What makes Topaz different to her Hedgehog counterparts?"
"I've been observing the Hedgehogs, their daughter isn't put through something that she's not interested in. Instead, the Hedgehog Princess is given the freedom she desires."
"What about the feud?"
"You know what I mean by that. All I want you to do, is give Topaz the freedom she wants. If you do not, you'll end up with your daughter hating you and regretting your actions."
Blaze lowers her ears, in guilt.
"I think you owe Topaz an apology."
Blaze enters Topaz's bedroom, to notice her asleep at her desk. Blaze politely taps on Topaz's desk.
"Huh, who's that?" Topaz asks, tiredly
"It's me, your mother." Blaze answers
Topaz soon perks up and rushes to studying, to be stopped by Blaze.
"What're you doing?"
"I've come to make an apology."
"I'm... listening."
"I apologise for not giving you the freedom you desire."
"Well, that's one apology mother. It doesn't change the fact that you act like a homophobe."
Blaze's 'cover' is quickly blown as Dennis enters the bedroom.
"Is this true?"
Blaze, quickly silenced, leaves the room embarrassed and infuriated.
"Wait, you're not like that?" Topaz asks
"Nowhere near, I'm bisexual and can't see a reason to act or be homophobic. I've had my eye on one of the Hedgehogs for a while now."
"Really?"
"Oh, yes. Why are you asking?"
Topaz soon blushes and tries hiding, for Dennis to see through her facade.
"Are you dating one of the Hedgehogs?"
"How did you...?"
"Your blushing face, standing up to your mother. Other than that, something's telling me that you want something else, as well."
"More than anything else, I want this feud to end. Seeing Emerald angry and upset, this breaks my heart."
"You're dating the Hedgehog Princess?"
"Yes, and during the feud. I'm so sorry."
"You don't have to be you two are the ticket to this feud's undoing. Move your books, I want to show you something."
Unbeknownst to the relatives, Blaze was listening to the whole conversation. As a last-ditch attempt at winning Topaz back, Blaze goes to the Hedgehog household; to be met by Sonic.
"What are you... Blaze?!" Sonic asks
"Sonic?!" Blaze responds
Sonic and Blaze hug and cry, remembering old memories before the feud.
"How have you been?"
"I've been fine, better now that I've seen a close friend."
"Why are we fighting like this?"
"That's why I'm here, I need your cousin."
"I'll take you to her."
Blaze follows Sonic inside, to be stopped by Shadow.
"What is Blaze doing here?" Shadow asks, unimpressed
"I'm here for Emerald." Blaze answers
"If it's to win Topaz back, not a chance. You act homophobic and that is the main reason why Topaz hates you. The issue you have, is that you can't take the truth."
Blaze lowers her ears, getting angry; to quickly calm down.
"I've heard Topaz's father mention that she and Emerald are the ticket to this feud's end."
"And you're trying to end this feud to win her back, it won't work."
"You might not realise it, but a family member that acts homophobic has very high significance to someone who is homosexual, even bisexual, like myself." Sapphire points out, getting nervous
Blaze soon approaches Sapphire, staying silent and soon turns her back to Sapphire. Emerald soon sneaks out to the Cat household and knocks on the door, for Dennis to answer.
"Oh, hello Princess. Can I help you?" Dennis greets, asking
"Hello, King Cat. Is Topaz in?" Emerald greets back, asking
"Yes and call me Dennis. I'm Topaz's father."
"Have I come at a wrong time?"
"Oh no, not at all. Come with me."
Emerald follows Dennis to Topaz's bedroom, to notice Topaz sleeping at her desk.
"Is Topaz okay?"
"Yes, I'm just letting her sleep."
"How come?"
"Topaz can't function during daylight hours and needs her rest; due to her being part vampire."
"So, if she doesn't sleep at the correct time, it could kill Topaz?"
"Yes, that's correct."
Emerald soon looks at Topaz and approaches her.
"Hey, Topaz."
Topaz soon stirs as she hears Emerald's voice. Emerald then kisses Topaz's cheek, awakening her, causing Topaz to notice Emerald. Dennis then leaves the room.
"Huh? What're you doing here?" Topaz asks, tiredly
"I came to see you, gorgeous."
Topaz almost falls asleep as Emerald intervenes.
"Let's get you to bed, babe."
Topaz gets up as Emerald helps her get into bed and falls asleep, for Emerald to sit on the floor beside the bed. Night falls, on Emerald's roof Shadow is looking out into the night; worried about Emerald's whereabouts as Sapphire joins him.
"I knew I'd find you here." Sapphire says, causing Shadow to turn to her
"Sapphire, what're you doing here?" Shadow asks
"I was looking for you all day, but you were constantly in a hurry."
"I need to feed right now. I'm also worried about Emerald's whereabouts."
"I know you are babe, but first feed from me."
"You always get weak when I take blood from you."
"I don't care. If you need to feed, I won't stop you."
Sapphire puts out her arm and Shadow reluctantly feeds from it, to detect a pathogen within Sapphire's blood. He stops, spitting out Sapphire's blood and using his powers to disinfect his mouth.
"You're ill, Sapphire; you need rest and medication."
"I'm not, am I?"
"You've been tending to Sonic and caught what he's ill with."
"Oh my, I'm so sorry. I nearly passed it onto you..."
"No need for apologies, my mouth is pathogen-free."
"What about your body?"
"That's next, babe. Just go to bed, I'll join you soon."
Sapphire teleports to her bed as Shadow uses his powers to disinfect his body and temporarily quench his thirst. Shadow soon comes into contact with Silver the Hedgehog, causing his thirst to return.
"Are you alright, your Highness?" Silver asks
"I need to feed..." Shadow answers
"Since I'm a vampire, you can't feed from me."
"Who do I ask?"
"Since her blood is too pure for me and I can't feed from her, you'll need to ask Amy."
"Firstly, why can't you feed from Amy?"
"Amy is one hundred percent Hedgehog."
"Secondly, why Amy?"
"She's the only one out of your two girlfriends that's not ill."
"Amy never lets us feed from her."
"You can make it a royal command, we can't."
"Against permission protocol, not happening Silver."
As for Topaz, she wakes up and hears someone sleeping next to her bed. She finds Emerald, sound asleep on the floor. Topaz then gets down to Emerald's level and kisses her lips as she sleeps. Emerald soon wakes up, noticing Topaz kissing her. Confused, Emerald allows Topaz to continue, and taps her side. Topaz stops, noticing Sapphire awake.
"Hey, did I wake you?" Topaz asks
"No, you didn't. Unless, you've got something else in mind." Emerald answers, scratching behind Topaz's ear
Topaz blushes, lost for words and moves on top of Emerald.
"Looks like some-Cat's excited." Emerald teases
"What? No way, that's ridiculous!" Topaz protests, as Emerald kisses her neck
Topaz moans, giving in.
"How's about I make this easy for you, gorgeous. Get on the bed and I'll be there."
Topaz gets on her bed and waits for Emerald, for her to tease Topaz by stroking the bedsheets. Emerald gets up, seduces Topaz, and gets above her, blushing as well.
