Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

...Just as we walked to the bar again, two men approached us lazily.

We strolled over to the bar and I took a seat while Preeti ordered drinks.

"One Martini and one Piña colada please" she said to the bartender who seemed to look at MY MANAGER flirtatiously. He wore an unbuttoned white shirt which showcased his perfectly built abs with rolled up sleeves. A talk, dark and handsome man elegantly pouring drinks. My eyes also caught a glimpse of Preeti looking at him with thirst. I mean, its nothing bad, she deserves some fun too. I gestured her to go ahead and take the hints and turned my face away to avoid making her feel like I am prying.

Minutes later, manager came back to me holding two glasses, smiling ear to ear.

"What's the fling with Mr Hot Bartender huh?" I teased.

"We,umm..We actually" she said stammering

"We what Miss?" I cut in.

"We just flirted and exchanged numbers."

(ayee no... just flirted and exchanged numbers.. no raising the temperature huh..? -_- this is everybody's reaction at this, including Roop!)

Before I could make weird faces and ask her to get some diploma in flirting, Preeti handed me over the Piña colada and started sipping the martini to which I raised an eyebrow.

"Preeti, I think you are so overwhelmed that you swapped our drinks." I asked confusedly.

"No babe, that was purely intentional."

"But why?"

"Because a bad drunk is enough drunk."

I rolled my eyes at her and finished my drink quickly and signaled Mr Hot Bartender for a bourbon and he poured it real quick.

"What..Roop.. No!" Preeti tried snatching it to stop me from drinking but I, Miss Malhotra raised it high above her reach. Seeing this, Preeti crossed her arms over her chest watching me enjoy the drink.

"Oh come on," I said getting back on my feet "I can stand perf...Holy Crap!!!"

I lost my balance and closed my eyes ready for the fall.

I waited

Waited

And waited.

But it never happened.

As I slowly opened my eyes, I saw a hand on my waist holding me steady. My eyes travelled upwards the strong, veined hand holding me, a black tuxedo, with a red shirt underneath, the top buttons undone showing his muscular chest. Looking further upwards, his diamond shaped jaw, lips parted softly, a pointed nose, and eyes as blue as the rarest sapphires hidden behind the blonde strands of hair falling on his face. My brain ordered me to look away, but neither my heart nor me could break away from the spell he cast on me. I kept looking into the eyes that seemed to look directly into my soul. I kept looking at him, without breaking the gaze till the storms rose and pacified over and over again, till the leaves of spring fell off in the autumn for many seasons, for what felt like forever....
