Our father taught us from a young age that we were alone in this world. That no one really cares about us. They only thought they did. If our secret ever came out, my friends, the people I had relied on for comfort and companionship since birth, would turn on us both without hesitation. Merciless.
Humans truly are despicable, aren't they? How easy it is for them to single out the weakest link. Humanity has a foul need to find anyone to oppress. They have to be superior to someone.
Disgusted by it as I was, I was forced to play along.
Let me explain.
Earth had been dying for many years by the time the first shuttles had been sent out. Humanity had found its next [target]. A small, rocky planet that they decided to call their own.
There was, of course, one [fixable] problem. There were already life-forms living there. They could be separated into two large categories: the [redacted] and the [redacted].
Humanity lovingly dubbed the [redacted] 'the blue-skinned, six armed freaks.'
They were actually a rather peaceful people, who were more excited and curious about the strange beings that had visited their world than anything else. They welcomed us with open arms, let us try the food of the planet, and try to understand us, our language, better.
When night fell on the first day, the species that called themselves the [redacted] crawled out of hiding to [kill]. According to the first settlers, these creatures, as they referred to them, 'the eight foot tall goat bastards,' were immediately hostile towards the new humans.
A long, bloody war, which resulted in many casualties ensued. And as the human scholars wrote, the natives of the planet attacked first.
History is told by the [victorious].
And their swords and petty magic tricks were no use against the guns and machinery, so foreign to them, that Humanity had brought with them.
In the end, they surrendered. They'd had no choice; they needed to survive.
Not all humans are like this, of course, although they did nothing to stop those in power. Some took pity or fell in love. Uh, it happens.
This resulted in quite a few of what the government calls 'halfies.'
[The Human Government] didn't like this, and banned them.
That in and of itself is disgusting, But here comes the truly repulsive part.
They rounded up thousands of Half-Blood children and put them to death. Slaughtered them.
That is, of course, with the exception of two adorable twin boys. My father hid my brother and I after our mother's [disappearance]. The only reason he succeeded was because we look human. For the most part, anyway. Not that anyone can tell unless they're really looking.
My name is Aubrey Lee O'Connor.
Welcome to New Earth.
