Elijah ran across the cave in a couple of seconds. He was confident that he was as good as the Olympic sprint runners but wasn't sure if he was as fast as Usain Bolt.
He picked up a couple of pebbles and threw them all at a wall. Thanks to his +10 strength, they bounced back like tennis balls and flew in different directions.
He took a couple of quick steps and caught them all in one hand.
To an observer, it looked like Elijah just swiped his hand across the air and caught them effortlessly.
Elijah nodded satisfactorily.
Speed wasn't bad at all.
Increasing the agility stat increased his movement speed and reflexes. When the pebbles rebounded off the wall, they moved slower from his perspective as if the air was thick.
AP: 8
Intelligence: 0
Elijah needed a bit of mana to summon a light spirit but didn't know how much one point of intelligence was.
Intelligence: 1
He confirmed his selection.
Mana: 25
[You have a new spell!]
[You have unlocked affinity!]
[Rearranging your status screen.]
"Huh?"
Elijah blinked in surprise.
He checked his status.

…
Nia and Charles were right. The Hero System is an OP class.
Elijah thought of the angel and the Navy Captain he had met in the white space of the reincarnation center. It was apparent to him now that choosing the Hero System was indeed the right choice.
How was it he got a new spell so easily? Was it because he had gained some mana? Maybe he would get new spells whenever he passed a milestone in mana capacity.
Elijah put another point into intelligence to test it out.
Mana: 50
…
Nothing happened.
He didn't want to spend any more points to test his theory right now.
Elijah guessed that the sense stat was like a spidey sense. In that case, it was synonymous with dodging.
He put in two points into sense.
…
His breathing sounded louder.
He looked at his hand in front of him.
His vision was sharper, and he could see better in the dark than before.
He felt superhuman.
Finally, he put in the last four remaining points into strength. To Elijah, there was nothing more reassuring than having more strength.
"…"
"Summon light spirit?"
-10 MP
A ball of light faded into reality in front of him.
The light emitted from the spirit was too bright that he covered his eyes. It was like a mini light bulb.
The light spirit sensed its summoner's agitation. It dimmed its light and floated in front of his face.
Realizing the light dissipated, Elijah lowered his hand and looked at the ball of light.
It said nothing or rather it couldn't speak, but he could feel a connection with it.
"Oh, thanks."
The spirit danced and then circled him. Elijah followed it with his head. It felt like it was checking him out.
It stopped moving around and hovered.
"My name's Elijah."
"…"
"What's your name?"
"…"
"You don't have a name?"
"…"
After a moment, the ball of light did a dip. He guessed that was a yes to his question.
"Hmm…"
*Stretch*
Elijah looked over to the cave passage on his left.
*Thwish*
He ducked.
*Whoosh*
A small arrow passed over his head and hit the cave wall behind him.
*Clack*
The light spirit flew into the cave passage where the arrow came from and then lit up like a light bulb.
Elijah saw a group of goblins. They were covering their eyes from the sudden brightness.
There were six of them, but they all looked different. Elijah was expecting to see identical character models, but they all had variations in height, facial features, and equipment.
Some had knives made of stone, wooden clubs, and one held a small bow. It felt like he was fighting six different monsters!
They were threat-level twos and threes. They were all skinny. Some of them had the same weapon but different levels. He assumed that was because of combat experience.
The goblin with a bow was level 3.
They nervously jumped and swiped at the light spirit, but it was floating too high.
This was his chance.
He took out a knife from his inventory and charged towards them.
They were 18 meters away from him, but he got there in less than two seconds.
One of them turned their head, but it was too late.
Elijah stabbed that goblin in the chest. Then he took out the knife and slashed at the goblin next to him in the neck. Blood sprayed out of its neck.
[You have killed a goblin!]
[You have killed a goblin!]
[You have leveled up!]
A goblin swung at him with a club, but he dodged it with a step back. The goblin at the back drew back an arrow and aimed at his feet.
*Thwish*
He dodged to the right.
Two goblins in front jumped to do an overhead swing, but he did a sweeping kick. They smacked into the side of the cave passage and rebounded.
They broke their bones.
The bowstring was drawn back again.
Elijah ran towards the goblin archer. The last goblin of the six stood in front of the archer to protect it. Elijah took advantage and kicked the goblin.
It crashed into the archer. Elijah lifted his knife and was about to stab the archer on the ground.
It squealed in fear.
Tears rolled down to its cheeks, and its nose dripped.
Elijah gave it a look of pity. He dropped his arms to his sides.
It wasn't necessary to kill the goblins. All that was needed was to kill the floor boss to clear the dungeon and get out.
[+9 Light points]
He had made the right decision again. Elijah gave a soothing smile to the goblin and reached out with an open palm.
The goblin blinked in surprise. It thought it was a trick.
After a moment, it slowly reached out to Elijah's hand and grabbed onto it hesitantly.
It pulled itself up from the ground and shoved an arrow tip into Elijah's neck.
The goblin sneered.
