Chapter 179 - Admin of Reincarnation Center

"What?"

Elijah wasn't sure about what he heard.

Jason hung his neck down.

"Take care of her. If you hurt her, I'll break you." Jason warned.

Something shiny fell through the air and plopped on the ground.

Since Elijah is shorter, he had a good look at Jason's face even though his head was down. It surprised him to see tears drop from Jason's eyes.

Although he hasn't forgiven Jason, at this moment, all feelings of enmity died in him.

He placed his hand on Jason's shoulder and lowered his head.

Jason tightened his grip on Elijah's shoulders.

"It's alright bro," Elijah said in a sedate voice.

"Touch her wrong, and I'll f*** you up." Jason sobbed.

"I hear you, man. I hear you…"

In a beautiful and bright yet plain white space, there is a smooth white curvy rock acting as a small personal round table.

The chair was similarly an irregularly shaped smooth rock. Both the table and chair looked like gigantified smooth river pebbles used for landscaping homes and gardens.

The table was a black color, and the chair was gray and they both hovered still in the air.

Sat on the rocky chair was an 18-year-old girl with white wings coming out of her back. She was slim but had an ample bosom.

She has brown eyes and long silky blonde hair. Her fringe reached her eyes but went further down in the middle forming a V fringe. Feather bows held together her pigtails.

She wore a low cut sleeveless white dress covered in feathers.

Opposite her was a 12-year-old boy sitting on a wooden chair who had just come from WW1.

He wore a 1902 Pattern Service Costume and pants. This was a thick khaki dyed woolen tunic. There were two breast pockets for personal items and an inner pocket sewn under the lower tunic's right flap where the first field dressing was stored.

He dropped his British issue steel helmet earlier in the trenches on the battlefield. His brown hair was greasy and swept to one side, revealing a neat hairline.

Despite there was a beautiful angel in front of him, he didn't react to anything. His eyes were lifeless.

"Welcome to the reincarnation center, otherwise known as the afterlife." She said professionally.

The boy in front of her didn't react at all. He stared at her apathetically.

"Since you keep your memories after death, I'll cut to the chase."

She had already skimmed over his file from the system display screen before taking the next queue.

This soul was a special reincarnator who had been given a gift from the System. The ability to keep memories of his past lives. This was hardly a rare thing, but it had allowed this soul to remember all 99 of his past lives.

In every life, he was put into a military force or a job that involved killing.

Whether as a soldier, police force, spy, assassin, pilot, swordsman, archer, etc. He lived to kill.

"In your next life, it is listed here that you will become an assassin initially, before becoming a soldier-"

*Bzzt*

*Clang*

Something zipped at her at high speeds but bounced off as if it hit a force-field. It stunned her for a moment. Then she saw the combat knife on the ground and a damage value text had popped up next to her, "0".

She looked at the boy who had his hands on his side where they were originally and then checked her surroundings.

However, that was an illogical thing to do. The knife must have been thrown at her and could only come from him. Her eyes settled on the boy again. His facial expression was the same as before. He looked like a statue.

That perfect knife throwing skill didn't come from the System but the experiences of those 99 past lives. It was thrown so fast that she didn't see it coming. If she wasn't immortal, she would have died without realizing it.

'He threw that knife at me while I was speaking? He tried to kill a staff member of the reincarnation center?'

Even though she couldn't be harmed at all. Her temple got sweaty.

Do souls come with the equipment and clothes they had when they died? It's an option.

As an administrator for the reincarnation center, she could choose from the System Menu whether they came in their clothes or a standard white gown. This was purely for the satisfaction of the autonomous System Workers because of their boredom.

The workers can occasionally make requests, and the System occasionally approves of them. Some requests are for entertainment while others benefit both the workers and the system.

Admins sometimes find that souls can be more comforted in coming in with the stuff they had when they died. The opposite can be true too.

Nia was the former. Having souls come in their clothes were more random and interesting than the plain white gowns. You can sometimes pick up things about their character just by looking at what they wore. Nia wanted to know more about this boy but didn't think he would attack her.

"Haha… Say, you've been working hard for us for a long time right? Is there anything I can do to make your next life more comfortable? Do you want a snack? We can materialize just about anything here in the cafeteria."

She had hoped that he said something to break the silence, but he didn't. His unblinking stare was uncomfortable and made her want to turn into a snake and slither away.

Unexpectedly, his lips moved.

"Take away my memories."

Nia had a hunch, but she double-checked the System Panel.

[Erase Memories]

[Are you sure? (Yes/No)]

[System Error. Access Denied — Requires Master-Level authentication]

Her eyes wanted to stay on the system screen forever.

"Sorry, but I don't have the authority to do that."

The boy expected as much.

She could see that his expression was unchanged, but somehow he seemed gloomier in the eyes and even more dead than before.
