Aran looked at himself in the mirror and noticed the scar he got when he turned eighteen, a few bullet holes he got from his ex-girlfriend, and the sword still stuck in his shoulder from the man he killed a few minutes ago.

'Shit... Why is the world so blurry, hahahaha! I can barely see my hands!'

Aran leaned down to look at the glowing chest and tapped on it in order to unlock a rare treasure that hundreds had just died over. The coffer opened up immediately and a golden light burst from the treasure chest, causing the silver room to turn golden from its powerful glittering light.

Aran didn't have time to wonder about the voices in his head because of the soldiers rushing towards his position in the temple of ascension.

He turned around and pulled the blade out of his shoulder before a gut wrenching scream appeared out of his lips. The blade had been deep in his shoulder, but it was nothing compared to his odds of escaping the ascension temple.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The stairwell exploded in front of him and thousands of bricks shot in his direction.

A large group of soldiers rushed towards them and suddenly he felt a burst of anger. He'd just fought hundreds of men only to die like this! He wouldn't give up, not yet, even if he couldn't see the world in front of him and he heard voices in his head.

Suddenly, the bodies in front of him all dropped dead just by witnessing his countenance. They stumbled and created a line of bodies that spewed out a river of blood.

'Great, the voice in my head is making me hallucinate.'

Aran grabbed at his chest and coughed with the pressure from his injury starting to make it unbearable to walk. He finally fell down and everything turned black.

A few hours later,

Aran awoke with his body nested underneath a hundred other dead bodies in a pile. He could barely see the chest that he'd opened and the silver glow of the room at the top of ascension tower.

Three large men with axes, swords, and other weapons on their back pulled out bricks and tossed them at the wall.

"Damn it! How is it not here! We made it to the top, and killed everyone else!"

"You killed everyone, but clearly you did it too late." A beautiful woman replied that walked into the room. The clicking sound of her heels could be heard slamming down next to Aran's head. She turned back and looked at Aran with a smile before picking up his head and laughing.

"Ha, this one sure is an ugly one. I wonder what his mother screwed to make this kind of mistake."

"Leave the dead alone. We checked all their bodies." The muscular man replied with a scowl. "Anyways, we broke into the temple of ascension. If we don't leave soon, the leaders of the deity clans will be angry."

"Ugh, let them be angry." The woman replied before dropping Aran's head onto the ground. "Strange, he felt kind of warm. I wonder what level he'd reached before getting slaughtered."

"He had no heartbeat. Let's go Lash," The man tugged her by the wrist, bringing his other friend towards the spiraling stairwell towards the exit. "Tomorrow, they will hunt for us, but today, at least we got to pay those fckers back for kicking us out."

Outside the temple, twenty minutes later.

Aran ran towards the shoreline glowing with the twilight of the coming nightfall.

He ran quickly and briskly towards the greyshore mountains, dodging various creatures that stumbled towards him looking for an easy kill.

'I'm going back to the real world, and getting out of this wasteland of death! Why did I sign that stupid contract! All because some lady predicted I'd turn out special!'

Aran turned around and noticed all the monsters he looked at seemed to be dead on the floor.

'What the hell? How did they die? Damn it! Am I hearing things or do I really have some sort of system?'

Aran turned around and noticed a beautiful woman holding a sword rushing towards him that didn't seem to fall down. This must have been a mistake.

"Mister! Mister! There is a level 20 Bronze Eyed Ape coming after me, and trying to steal my life! Please save me! Please!"

"L-level 20.... How-WHY WOULD IT BE HERE?"

Aran saw the gigantic beast appear through the bushes after the girl only to feel her cold body dive behind his back.

"Ah! Save me! PLEASE! I'll do anything you want!"
