Chapter 1 - Prologue

'Ugh, god, this pushover.' I looked at the strawberry-blonde woman up and down. She wakes up at 6 o'clock just to prepare for the three ladies and likes to talk to animals. You might wonder who I'm pertaining to, well, it's none other than Cinderella. And you might be asking how I got here, I'd like to know that as well. I've been living as a maid under Lady Tremaine for a few months now. I woke up inside a carriage with bruises all over my body. The last thing that I remember was that I was tending to my grandmother's bakery shop waiting for customers as I pass the time playing on my phone. The next thing I remember is I fell asleep and woke up inside a moving vehicle, it was a rotting carriage to be exact. My body felt stiff and hurt, the first thing I thought was kidnapping.

I didn't know who kidnapped me, I was about to kick the door open and run when I noticed my reflection. Hold on a second, 'when did I get this slim?' I looked at my reflection, then back at my body. The reflection from the broken window of the carriage reflected a pale woman. I still look like myself, but thinner and paler. My black hair was everywhere, I look, disturbed.

I came to a small mansion and is introduced to a lady named Madonna Tremaine. I was to serve her and her daughters, Anastasia and Drisella Tremaine, that was when it dawned to me, the familiar names were the characters in Cinderella, a fairytale. I was out of it for three days, I couldn't believe my situation. I was a bachelor in fine arts and had an average job as a food stylist. I am a 30-year-old woman who held importance on personal health, I was pretty much an average Joe.

When presented with these unexpected scenarios, I completely freeze, thus, I became dysfunctional for almost three days. So many thoughts were in my head. 'How did it happen? Why was I here? Why do I have to be in the fairytale I hated the most? Can I go back? Did I die?' I didn't get to sort out all of it, but I arranged myself enough so I can continue on, I would be as good as dead if I don't do anything now. I decided to sort it out one by one instead of overdriving my brain by thinking about it so much. I met Drisella and Anastasia and soon, met Cinderella. She pisses me off more than the step-sisters, how can she do nothing? She's not even getting paid, she can just leave and lead her own life. I couldn't stand it when she does nothing. I hated it, hated her, hated them. But I stayed passive, it has nothing to do with me, I don't do anything bad to her nor do I curse the three ladies, I was a bystander.

I showed indifference to them, I followed orders, and I get paid. Among the other Disney princesses, no, among any other princesses, I hate her the most.

I made a routine where I wake up an hour before the big clock tower strikes at 6. The loud sound irritates me so I get up and prepare, by the time the tower chimes, I'm already cooking in the kitchen. I got used to the farm animals making noise as well as preparing tea, bath, and laundry by hand.

"Oh, good morning, it's a lovely day today isn't it." Cinderella brought Lucifer with her, I nodded as I settled the sardines and water in front of him. After feeding him, I just left Cinderella with the food I cooked and went upstairs holding the tray and teacups properly. I settled it down on the long table in the hallway and woke up the three ladies one by one. I was already used to the loud snoring by this time so I swiftly woke them up and took their laundry. I'm a person that didn't like being pushed around, and this was a case that they already knew. In my first few weeks, they kept pushing me to the edge and getting me involved whenever they pick on Cinderella which I hated.

"You evil wench!" Drisella was about to shatter the plates because she didn't like the food, it wasn't "delicious enough". I mentally rolled my eyes.

"Go on, I'm not gonna clean that," I replied with a bored tone.

"What did you just say?!" Drisella looked at me and was red from anger.

"MOTHER!" She started shouting and complaining to Madonna who was just beside her. She finally shut up as Madonna looked at me.

"As far as I know, young lady, you are nothing but a mere servant in this household, that's your purpose, to SERVE nobility." She glared at me straight in the eyes and I glared back.

"As far as I know you don't pay me enough for me to cook your meals, clean your house, and take care of all this. Nobility? Please, old lady! You can't even pay for sh*t!" All I said was straight facts. She got mad and threw the plates herself.

"HOW DARE Y-" I cut her off before she even completed her sentence.

"No, how DARE YOU, act like nobility, you can't even pay one person a minimum wage to cook for you, you're POOR!"

"You know what? I have had enough of this cr*p. I'm not a pushover like your step-daughter." I picked up my stuff which just fit in one bag. I picked it up from the basement, where I sleep and went up again.

"Rot in your own sh*t."

This was also an event that caused her confusion. She expected being kicked out and even physically hit since it's the 1860's in France. But what happened was, Lady Tremaine, talked her into staying and even gave a large sum of money monthly as my pay. Lady Tremaine seems to want to hold onto me for some reason. And that was how I stayed here in the outskirts of the kingdom serving a bunch of spoiled little brats and working with a push-over.

I never was positive about the idea of transmigration here. From the books and series that I've read, the protagonists are intelligent and seem to have a good memory which they use for their advantage to conquer, or they reincarnate into a very beautiful and attractive human, or maybe into a book as a villain or heroine. But I had none of that, I'm not a studious type, talented type, nor was I transmigrated into a beautiful girl who's a beloved daughter of a duke or king. All I have is work experience in food styling and art, how the heck would that help me? It didn't even earn me that much money back on earth.

All I can ask is, 'why me?'. Maybe the guy up there got it messed up and was supposed to transmigrate an excellent successful woman instead? I sighed, how is this life going to be any different? It just became harder since I'm not used to old technology.

I hated the story Cinderella, I hated her character, how she needs help just to reach her dreams, how she accepts all the torment thrown at her. But then, I started thinking, if I want to get my life a little easier, I need to change the story a little bit. I want to be he cause of Cinderella and the prince's meeting.

'Kinda like inserting myself in the story so I could get a more comfortable life.' I'm not using her, well I am, but I'm going to teach her how to become independent and how to value herself. So she does benefit from me and I benefit drom her. I don't want to clean toilets all my life so I gotta work.

"Ella, wake them up." I said as I prepared the table for lunch. A lot of food got wasted earlier because none of them woke up. Lady Tremaine came back late last night from the gambling house and the two ladies naturally didn't wake up early. The food started to get cold by the time they went down.

There loud high-pitch voices irritate me so I entered the kitchen and snacked on the potato chips that I made.

"CINDER and ELLA, Cinderella! HAHAHA."

The laughter could be heard from outside, and not a moment later, Ella, who was covered with ash since earlier came in with a sad face.

She was currently 16 years old, she was smaller than the body I'm residing in. From my guess, based on my body, Ithink I'm 18 or 19.

I gave her the food I was munching at when she suddenly exclaimed.

"WOW! What is this?" I looked at her weirded out.

"Chips."

'Hasn't she seen chips before?' And that's when I realized that chips don't exist in this era. Nore does popcorn, fries, and other junk foods. While I was thinking to myself, Ella spoke again.

"By the way, I haven't known what your name is." Oh yeah! I don't even know what the name of this body was. I looked at my reflection on the cupboard. My real name was Olivia, and this body's eyes remind of green olives.

"Olivia Greene." I said.

"You have a last name?" Then I remembered that I reincarnated as a slave. 'Sh*t, I'm not supposed to have a last name.

"I used to!" When I said this, Ella's face became sad and her blue eyes started tearing up.

"I-I' m sorry." The girl standing before Olivia thought that she was a fallen noble, or that she was sold as a slave because of debt.

After that day in the kitchen, Cinderella became more fond of Olivia, the new maid. She relied on her and saw her as a sister figure who would always be there.
