"Maybe you all are not getting my point" I said raising my voice slightly. "Trust me we are very well getting what exactly you are saying Miss Harley. The problem is you are not understanding what we'll be putting at stake if we listen to you. Besides even if we agree and say yes to this madness you are planning it's not like you'd be able to achieve much. Because I don't think that Mr. President or any of the eight governments around the world would agree with this. In case if you still have not noticed we have limited natural as well as man made resources left to carry out such an ambitious mission. You see no one would want to put those valuable resources at stake, for most probably negative result" Burke replied arrogantly.

If he wasn't head of international space council, I swear I'd have smashed his head against the wall by now "well you see Mr.Smith this project might be a little bit ambitious, I agree" I said tucking my shoulder length iron straight black hairs behind my ears "but its not like that this is for my personal achievements or something,its for whole mankind.

"Still-"

"Mr. Burke Smith do you know what current population of earth is?" I asked cutting him off. In reply he sighed "well who doesn't" he said before sitting back in his chair.

"1.15 billion that's the current population of this planet. Now I guess you know how many years are left before this planet is completely destroyed as well?"

"May I ask Miss Campbell what's the point of these obvious questions" Indian representative asked. And Burke raised his eyebrow as if asking me silently to answer this question."Well since this council is not ready to understand the situation directly and in short, So I am just trying to make you understand by giving you a detailed summary, I guess. Now please hear me out without interrupting because I've been trying to convince you all for two years now, so my patience is kind of running out." I said giving a tight smile.

"So seems like Stephan Hawkings wasn't joking after all when he said that human race won't survive for long on earth and that we need to find another planet that can support life. Now good news is that we have this planet which is by the way know as Drarth K1 in case you all have forgotten" I gave another tight smile "which exhibits earth like traits, thanks to late Dr. Sharmann Vix, who burnt midnight oil so that human race at least have that planet as plan B. So my question is why are we not testing Drarth K1 to see if it supports life or not, what are we waitng for? For apocalypse to finally happen and wipe out our entire race?"

"Tell me are you all naive enough to believe that there are cures to these strange diseases that are killing millions every year? Naive enough to believe that you can prevent natural disasters that are killing millions every year and leaving millions homeless? Tell me don't you all ever feel guilty for following Darwinian theory of evolution?" I said standing up and slamming my hands on table "We are already wasting our time and valuable resources in achieving uncertain, why can't we use those resources and time in exploring the possibility of life on a planet that might save our race from extinction?"

"Look there are two options 1- either we sit and continue with our researches in hope of preventing inevitable. Which by the way will wipe 1.15 billions at the end. Or 2- We use our remaining resources in testing late Dr. Sharmann Vix's discovery Drarth K1, for the possibility of life. So that if in case Drarth K1 actually supports life we'll be able to save maximum people and hence preventing extinction of our race" I finally completed, wow never knew I can speak this much!

Burke took a long breath and adjusted his coat "You know how much fuel and our other limited resources this operation if we carry out will take?" he asked and when I said nothing he continued " More than fifty percent, if this fails we are busted entire human race is busted. And let me tell you yes Dr. Vix said that planet exhibits earth like traits but he also said that planet show some irregular or more precisely anomalous phenomenon, you do understand what that means right? We would be sending people to face unknown . You have been working with us since last one year 'officially' Trust me we know better than you, some of us here have been working in this field long before you started your internship here and know more about that research ms. Harley Campbell. I for one have studied Dr. Vix's research on Drarth K1 very closely, that planet might look like earth but it's different from earth. That planet might have shown sings of presence of water,trees and oxygen, but it.....let's just say that planet is quite peculiar. And your decisions are more emotional than logical Ms Campbell."

I opened my mouth to argue but he stopped me by waving his hand "I know, I know its better to die trying than sitting and doing nothing. So just for the peace of your mind, I'll talk to higher authorities and see if they are willing to take this risk. I guess my fellow representatives here would do the same." he looked around the table to see what say others have in this matter. Other representatives looked at each other for a second and then finally nodded in agreement. I rolled my eyes. Finally!

"So it is yes then, I guess now you are satisfied Ms campbell?" Burke asked. "Well I'll be satisfied the day we launch a ship to Drarth K1" I replied with an ever present fake smile on my face.

"I'd suggest not to get your hopes too high, chances that higher authorities would agree with this are very low. Now ladies and gentlemen this meeting is over." with that Burke got up from his chair.

"Well then tell them it would be in their best interest if they agree with this. Otherwise I've other ways which are far more compelling than this one. And I'm damn sure they wouldn't like those ways." I said loud enough for everyone to hear,while getting up and taking my files with me.

"Are you asking us to threaten on your behalf Ms. Campbell?" Burke asked his expressions mocking me. Others on the other hand looked thoroughly shocked.

"No, I'm a well wisher why would I do that?" With that I walked out of the meeting room.
