Chapter 232 - They Call Me The Red Fairy

"Eh?"

The small woman shook her head and sighed, "It would seem that nobody could earn my vote today... However, you have talent, but no guidance on how to utilize your gift."

"My gift...?" He looked to her in confusion.

"Your voice is still lacking the deeper tone, isn't is? It isn't common to find someone who posses dual voice, or should I say, countertenor." She said this with a smirk under the hood.

"Countertenor? Dual Voice?"

"The ability to sing both high and low notes three octaves or more lower." She clarified, "That is countertenor."

"So, this condition actually exists!" Cai Yao's eyes wide in disbelief.

"You have the talent... but do you really want to pursue pop music?" She questioned.

He looked to her in surprise as she continued, "Just because you have a countertenor doesn't mean that you are meant to be a singer or is a natural singer. There's no such thing as a natural singer in this world only those who are naturally gifted with a good voice. The title 'singer' are only given to others who struggle and practice day and night to sing. To do that, you must also have a reason to sing. Is the reason you strive for sing for that important that you'd risk your entire future of office work and other possibilities to pursue? Those who go into the entertainment department don't always get a good office job after they leave that world. Your own popularity is what can give you your living and there can also be dubious and shady companies in the world, but, in the end, you will have to choose one to depend on. Then, there will be those who will try to undermine you or use you for your own worth. In the end, this all depends on your luck and your own determination and effort. So, do you really want to sing pop music?"

It wasn't like she was completely ignorant of the genre of pop music. Just that she was not very into the subject after hearing the piercing metal band back in the undergrounds of Rose Kingdom. Since then, her opinions of music in this world's modern era have been rather bland and distasteful. She didn't dare to venture very far as well in the field. She only knew of those who sang the song and have a beautiful voice with the music. When it came to pop music, Vil was the only one who she heard with music. Others were different. However, she knew the path people with counter tenor should take and so she decided to give him a try.

Hearing all this, he nodded, "I was already prepared for this when I thought about singing. Naturally, I'm willing to go the distance if it means that I can sing for others and myself."

Lotus chuckled, "I see. Then, let me recommend you someone to teach you."

"Teach?" His eyes widen in suprise, "You can find me a teacher?"

"Had it not been for the elementary skills, I would've already given you my vote. However, you lack skills needed for a pop singer. Naturally, you need lessons, but not from a pop singer. Ah, I haven't introduced myself either, have I?" She pulled down her hood and smirked after seeing the surprised expression on the boy's face, "Everyone outside calls me many names, but those who are closer to me calls me Red fairy because I was raised by fairies growing up."

She handed him a card to which he takes and explains, "When I was out traveling with my guardian, I met a singer who can sing dual voice as well. After highschool, go to S univeristy in Pyroxene and learn from them. If you succeed, then maybe you can achieve your dream. It all depends on you in the end."

With that, the girl with bright red hair raised a hand and waved it as he looked around and realized that he was back in the school's courtyard! Looking in his hands, he had realized that his wounds had healed up and the card was still in his hand as he muttered in surprise, "So, it wasn't a dream... The Red Fairy..."

.....

After having done this, she magically changed her appearance and used her eye abilities to hide herself amongst the darkness. She sent the remainder of her butterflies out to scout the place before leaving the forest with a wooden bracelet around her wrist. She then went back and completed her introduction of her raven before evening. On her way to the kitchen, she noticed a familiar looking figure walking on the main street she was traversing on. She looked up in confusion when she noticed the familiar blue figure that had accompanied besides Niege and the dwarves. She raised a brow in confusion before greeting the old man, "Good evening, Headmaster Ambrose."

She had witnessed the magician from afar when she was infiltrating the school a couple months ago. A magician in blue, old in years but smart and active for his old age. However, from afar, she naturally could see that the man also sly in nature and a trickster by heart. However, he had a passion for caring for his students just as headmaster Crowley does. The duty to care for their students and educate them properly.

"Oh? You know who I am?" The old man looked to her with a look of surprise having stopped in his tracks, "Have we met before?"

"I had a guess." Lotus explained, "My mother and siblings had told me that she had seen you from afar a many years ago. They described it as a magician in blue at that time. Since today is a collboration between our schools, I had an assumption when I first saw you, but I wasn't too certain because I didn't think it would be so easy to come across the headmaster of Royal Sword Academy. May I know how is Niege's condition? He didn't text me, so I can only assume he is well, but it would be bad to have a sore throat during this season."

"Ah, I see. Mister Leblanc is doing just fine." Ambrose responded with a wide smile, "Your name is Lotus, was it? I heard that you rejected my school's recommendation in order to enter Night Raven College."

Lotus nodded without shame, "Yes. Though Royal Sword Academy is the best school of magic, I want to compete against other students in this school. There are so many students in this school who wish to prove themselves. Naturally, I find this compelling to come and test my strength and knowledge against them. I want to see where I stand, so I can better understand myself before I join the mass society in the next couple of years."

Hearing this, Ambrose raised a brow, "But you still have university if you want to compete against others."

Lotus shook her head, "Entering university if equivalent to taking a step in the outside world. I want to see where I am now and how to better myself. University has no diversity and discrimination against the students in background and talents, so there will be more competition before then. I'll also come across friends and allies of many talents and background when I'm in university. If I want to prepare myself, it has to be now."

Hearing this, Ambrose smiled curiously when he heard this. Such a small child so full of pride and talent, yet acts and talk like an adult who have seen all. He was too young to have seen all and too inexperienced to understand the workings of this world. Yet, here he was before him dreaming big and expecting big things from himself against such a large world full of challenges.

"Then, do you have a clear path in your eyes?" He questioned with a wide smile.

Lotus could feel the ridicule from his eyes and chose to ignore it as she responded with a wide smile, "I'm not too certain yet. Personally, I must enter the medical field, but I also want to go into Marketing and Law. I need the doctoral liscense on my path if I want to continue, but I'm also curious in the Marketing field and the field of Law. Yet, time is limited and, with my current circumstances, it's too early for me to try and skip grades. Since you sent me a recommendation letter before, you must've known that I am homeschooled. If I skip grades now, I would be jumping into the mass society to quickly before even understanding how move through them. Since, it's like this, I may have to try to take additional years to complete my goals. May I ask you something Headmaster Ambrose?"

"If it's something I can answer, then go ahead." Ambrose responded curiously.

"Have you ever seen or heard of a student that have truly achieved three or more doctoral degrees together?" Lotus questioned.
