Chapter 10 - Echo of a different life (chapter 10)

As she drifted off to sleep her blankets provided much-needed warmth. She found herself looking at a star-filled night sky where twin moons rested. As she lifted her head to look around, she noticed that the grass around her was silver in color. Looking past her feet, about 20 strides away was the lake that her other self was at when it warned her other the wild hunt. Slowly pushing herself off the ground she stood, turning her head towards to what was behind her. There stood might redwood trees whose tops seemed to go on forever.

Her curiosity got the better of her as she made her way towards the tree. the roughness of its bark rested against her open palm, as the fresh smell drifted towards her nose. But there was only silence, it felt as if she was alone in this place. As she walked into the woods, she appeared facing a lake again. "What the hell?" she thought and when back into the woods. again, she appeared facing the lake once more. Shrugging it seemed like this was all she could travel in. her strides were paced and even as she made her way towards the lake.

As she reached the lake her reflection greeted her. As she moved her body it followed her movement. until it didn't, she looked at it surprised as she watched it move its hand as if forward until it appeared outside the water. slowly it began to pull itself out of the lake. this caused Her to trip backward, landing on her butt. She pushed herself back and away from the water, watching herself leave the water like that one girl that came out of the tv. Water dripped off the girl as it walked towards the Ellehish, its hand stretched out with a single finger extended. Ellehish had been trying to shift to try and fight back but no matter what she tried she couldn't shift. As the girl reached her their face was covered by their wet hair, only allowing one eye to be visible. As its finger touched Ellehish's forehead.

Ellehish was confused as all the girl did was hold its finger against her forehead before laughter broke out from the girl. she fell over from laughter while holding her side "You should see the look on your face" she managed to say between laughter. An angry blush painted Ellehish's face as she watched her twin roll around the grass in a fit of laughter. A snicker was heard from behind and as she turned to see what had made that noise, she saw a Large White Furred Wolf, watching her from the woods its eyes glowing one red while the other was golden.

It was in a part she could not reach while her embarrassment grew larger. It had taken a few mins for her to finally stop laughing in that time Ellahish managed to calm down, resting herself on the grass. "That was a dick move" she huffed as she stared at herself while her other self was wiping a tear from her face. "Sorry, sorry I couldn't help it, "it said " I've been going through your memories, plenty of scary and interesting things there to see. Plus, your face reaction was worth it," it said as it pulled its hair out of their face. what took Ellahish by Suprise was the fact that its eyes were glowing a bright Golden color. They just glowed without having her needing to shift but what did it mean? She could help but think.

"Right, I believe it's time I shared more about our past with you, but since we share the same name. I believe I'll have to dawn a different one," it said seemingly in deep thought. " Ah I got it you can refer to me as Aruzhan," it said clapping its hands together " In our people's tongue it means beautiful soul."

Dumb founded she looked at Aruzhan and the only thought that came to mind was that she was talkative type. But she could only chuckle it was like a child that had no one to speak to finally having someone too. "Very well Aruzhan there are a few things I'd like to ask once you're done with explain what you have too." Ellahish said with a calm voice. "Ah right, from what I could gather from your memories you have only seen bits of our life in fragmented dreams." Ellahish nodded and motioned her to continue " Well first would be the truth of nights of tears, when the Atmorans first came to our shores our race was somewhat comfortable relationship with Humans but that changed when my father allowed one of Ysgramor member into his home. I was quite young at that time but from what my father told me. after having allowed them into his home he had held a feast to welcome them. while they eat that human kept staring at our mother, our father didn't think anything of it at the time but a few moons later she had been taken." her breathing was rapid as anger made her body tremble while tears fell.

Ellehish moved closer to Aruzhan and wrapped her arms around her. rubbing her back and resting her head on hers, this helping calms her twin. After a few moments she continued " Our fathers forces found where they were holding our mother after six months. A settlement of Saarthal, it was the home of the ilk that took our mother. our father's forces raided the settlement and subdued the warriors, they found her chained their chef's home. Our father told me that after checking with magic it had come to light that she was with child, enraged he ordered his forces to kill all of the humans founded in the settlement. Word had spread within the forces of what had happen to their queen. At that moment they stopped seeing humans as children and looked at them as lesser races. So, comment the Night of tears.

"Ysgramor and his two sons were not there that day so managed to escape the punishment of its kin. From reports father had received the information that they had fled from their lands. Father had sent her mother away towards a far of palace. Everything seemed to be going well but then reports of our settlement being destroyed reached our father's ear. Ysgramor had returned with his 500 hundred Companions and their followers." Her own anger grew at the thought of what her mother when thought. It had begun to make sense now she though, the hate she had for the Nord's.
