Chapter 5 - Opening stuff like a loonatic part 2

Next Zeke began to open the chests, starting with the Botanist Update one. It Contained three green seed items, and a blue and a purple machines.

WARTSBERRY SEED X 3

BANANNY TREE SEED X1

WALTERMELON SEED X2

LESSER SPRINKLER X1

AUTOHARVESTER X1

Zeke was amused that he got these items, as they are extremely useful specially to get started. Then he went to the other upgrade chests. Starting with the biggest ones in amount, those from the latest updates. They contained some interesting stuff, specially useful for quality of life, in total Zeke amasses 12 different green items, 9 Blue ones, 3 purples in quite a quantity, and exactly 2 orange ones.

SPAWN RANDOM PLUSHY X 6

LOONIE FOOD DISPENSER X 3

LARGE LOONIE FOOD SUPPLY X 5

MINER HELMET X 2

CLOTHESLAND TICKET 30' X 3

LESSER XP JUICE X 12

GEAR STAND X 3

WEATHEROMETER X 1

SICK-AWAY X 11

FREE FROM JAIL PASS X 2

GREEN JOKER X 15

SHAPESHIFTING VINES SEED X 4

Those were the greens, Zeke just read at their names and figured them out without reading the description, tough he briefly noticed that some of them had symbols wich could indicate that they were reprinted from previous expansions.

LESSER SPRINKLER X 3

XP JUICE X 5

BLUE JOKER X 3

SKYWEED SEED X 2

ASSIMIWANNA EGG X 1

WATER AFFINITY HELMET X 2

DARKNESS ALLEGIANCE SWORD X 1

SICK - AWAY + X 5

MASS LOONIE FOOD DISPENSER X 2

BABY LOONIE NURSERY + X 3

Interesting enough on itself, the Nursery and the mass dispenser could be considered to be useful. Also he could maybe pay some debts with the extra stuff like that water affinity helmet, he hoped it would be worth something. Next are the purples.

INSTAHOUSE X 5

SUNSHINE GENERATOR X 6

CARD PRINTER: COPY X 3

This machines called Zeke's attention so he paid them a close read at their descriptions. Instahouse was preety straightforward. Given enough space a prefab house will be generated at the usage of between 250 to 3000 NRG. With the costs increasing first in increments of 50, then 100 and finally 250, and with exponentially better results at the expense of higher space requirements. The 3000 NRG ones could put some mega mansions to shame. This kicked out Zeke's suddenly discovered ambition: He wanted to use not one, but the five Instahouses he had to be spent on his terrain at their maximum.

So he needed to get those amounts of NRG and terrain.

The sunshine generators were meant to provide energy to some machines that required it, that is: All Purple or orange rarity machines, and machines from lower rarities that have been upgraded. The downside was that they worked only during daytime. It seems like there's at least a generator for nighttime and one for when it rains.

Finally the card printer allowed Zeke to copy cards from his Loonies's associated moves, tough those were immediately linked to his ID, so he couldnt sell them. Of course, that could be broken, tough there should be means to get his hands on this kind of cards through some market, he guesses.

Finally the Orange ones.

CTV CONVERTER X 1

GOLDEN JOKER X 1

Jokers are meant to be traded by any card of their rarity: Abilities, Gear, even loonies. That was obvious at this Point. But the CTV CONVERTER intrigued Zeke a lot.

He read the description.

"Allows to transform and get cards from the CTV Market. Cards converted to CTV will be deducted of some of their value as an operation fee. Higher rarity cards will be deducted a lesser percent of their value. Scrap cards cannot be converted into CTV"

This kinda has sense, tough Zeke doesn't know what CTV stands for. But as he kept opening stuff, he got some. It basically figured in an interface just like how he could check his energy. It was represented as a white shining spark. When he checked his interface, he could read that CTV actually stands for Card Trading Value.

Once he opened all that he had to open, he felt like he was set. So the first thing he did was placing all his machines and setting them to work.

First he set up a little farm with his sprinklers and the autoharvester, tough in the end, the orange quality machine only could handle half the area that the sprinklers covered. As a result, Zeke still had to work on half of his farm lands. The autoharvester also consumed one third part of the total output of a Sunshine generator. He connected the CTV converter and one Card Printer. He tested them and he realized that they didn't use any energy as long as they were connected idle, but when active they consumed one third of the generator's energy each. So he deducted that one generator can keep up with up to 3 machines, independently of what those machines are. The problem with that is that, actually, there's three generators that are needed to keep the machines running non stop, tough maybe there's an even more advanced generator wich allowed a greater amount of machines to be fed, or any means to store energy in another way.

Zeke also obtained the capability to build wooden stuff using the shovel through an upgrade. That also made the shovel a little bit more efficient energy-wise, so he built a small barnyard aside his current house, and he set fences around the nearest half of his island, before growing tired.

He felt thirsty but all he had at hand was the XP juices. He drank a lesser one, and then he actually leveled up a few times. He went straight up to level 3, and when he did, he faced an statistics interface.

ZEKE

LANDLORD LEVEL 3

NRG 100 (+5 per point allocated)

STR 2 (+1 per point allocated)

VIT 100 (+10 per point allocated)

SPD 10 (+1 per point allocated)

LCK 3 (+1 per point allocated)

DEF 0 (+1 per point allocated)

??? Unlocks in level 25

20 Points available.

So those were his stats. Actually they seemed way weaker than he thought. But now he needed to enhance his farming capabilities and specially, his capacity to make more terrain. It seems like that's the best way to get even more levels and specially, to get those mansions.

So he chose to allocate 8 points to energy, 2 to strenght, and the rest shared equally between defense and luck. Defense so he wont take that much damage from loonies as he did when trying to catch Anewbie, and luck because he figured that somehow affected the chest drop quality. Too bad he wasted those tons of opening material without upgrading luck a bit.

Zeke figured that, by raising his NRG maximum, he could also use that new energy, but when he checked, he had his energy at full. All his now 140 points. So he had an idea that kept him busy for several hours. He spent all his energy creating plains, then drank XP juices until he leveled up, and repeated.

By the end of It, at dusk, he owned several acres of land and reached level 20. In the process he managed to tame several new loonies. A small black lizard, an oversized mosquito wich nose resembled a moskeeton, and a tiny armored bat-like humanoid. He identified them as Tinydra, Mosquiiton, and Batallard. When it was getting late and he was returning home with his newly made friends, he was chased by a big andgry armored elephant and an old penguin humanoid wich fought him using mixed martial arts.

So he had to run like if there was no tomorrow.
