Tainted with One Kiss by DEADLIFE
Soldiers, both men and women clad in dark blue uniforms with yellow bands wrapped around their heads and arms, gather in the deserted plaza. All around them are pieces of debris and craters where bombs once landed. They don't care, however, and just make themselves comfortable in the aftermath.
Yelling and shouting are heard as they congratulate and comfort each other, recovering after a long battle. They group up and talk of their feats, boasting their kills or firing their weapons erratically in the air. The morale is high and soldiers are happy, exhausted, sad, and all the above. Overall, relief is felt by everyone, whether they are grieving or celebrating.
The pro-Regime city is conquered, and soldiers of the Golden Fist stand tall. And standing taller than the rest is a red-haired woman dressed in a grey overcoat and black pants. Currently, she stands on a huge tank with a rifle in her hand to support her stance. Her posture is straight and a dangerous smile rests on her face. She adjusts the cap on her head and grabs a megaphone from a crewman inside the tank.
When some of the soldiers of the Golden Fist see their leader, they turn to the woman and cheer. Others pick up on this and join the cheer, creating a loud roar of high and low voices.
Bringing the megaphone to her mouth, the Grand General speaks, "Warriors!" The crowd of soldiers yell with large smiles on their faces. "Today! We have cemented our place in history!"
The cheer only grows louder as more soldiers join in.
"Rest easy for we have taken victory! Soon, we will storm the fortress of the Regime and kick them out of our home!" Whooping, yelling, and screams of joy come as her response.
"We will exterminate the Regime from our home world and end their tyrannical reign over these beautiful lands!" By now, the soldiers are chanting the general's name.
"Historians shall write and study our glory as we rid those Regime dogs!" Her dangerous smile grows wider as she waves her other arm around.
She practically yells into the megaphone. "On the twentieth, we shall charge into the fray and wipe those bastards out! Every! Last! One of them!"
The crowd cheers wildly now.
"To the east, we will charge! I will take the lead, and with all of you behind me, we will come down on them like a golden fist!" She shouts.
"A golden fist!" The crowd chants, repeating her words as if it was a motto they used all the time...
"But! For now, you rest. Recuperate. And prepare to take down the Regime once and for all!" She puts her hands behind her back with the megaphone as she listens to the cheering crowd of soldiers in blue uniforms.
Under her breath she says to herself, "We will finally be free." The Grand General's smile does not falter one bit.

The man takes his knife out of the soldier's forehead, wiping it on the fresh body. He breathes heavily, catching his own breath before he sheathes the knife in a scabbard. The back of his wrist rubs against his brown eyes, getting out any unwanted dirt that landed near.
Dressed in the same blue uniform as the man on the ground, he gets off his knee and stands up to average height. Appearing as a lanky individual with his long arms and legs. The balaclava on his face covers all of his features except for his vindictive brown eyes and hateful frown.
He takes his gun that was resting on the wall and slings it over his shoulder. He stops as he hears the cheering in the distance, grinding his teeth and scrunching his eyebrows in anger and disgust.
The man mutters to himself, clenching his gloved fist. "I'm gonna kill you like a fuckin' pig, you disgusting rebel parasite." His voice is low, managing to sound both smooth and a little raspy at the same time.
Looking around, he sees the smoldering ruins of the urban environment. Broken windows, demolished houses, burned pieces of furniture, lost toys. The sight of the destroyed environment infuriates him.
"Like a goddamn pig." He muttered once more before picking up the pace and going into a jog.

A large grey tent has many armed soldiers patrolling outside of it, a soldier holding several binders enters. Inside the tent, he sees the Grand General, reading over a few files scattered on a makeshift table. She lets out a puff of smoke and goes for another drag.
She narrows her eyes as she sees the contents of the files. The feeling of frustration is well-hidden, but it is still there.
"Ma'am, the soldiers have found more bodies. They each have the same wounds as the other corpses." The soldier, dressed only in dark blue fatigues, reported to the Grand General.
"I see." She takes another drag of her cigar and releases a puff of smoke. "Then I guess that only confirms our investigation."
Nodding only, the soldier doesn't say anything else.
"Send out several of my agents to look for the traitor." Her eyes gain an aura of ferocity as she looks at the soldier. "Make sure this doesn't get out, do you understand me?"
He quickly salutes - ignoring the uncomfortable binders - and says, "Yes, ma'am. I understand."
The Grand General stares holes into the man, only taking her eyes off him after a few seconds. "Good. Get to it, then."
"Yes, ma'am." He quickly sets the binders down on the table and leaves in the same manner. His steps are fast as he goes to complete his objective.
Her eyes remain on the files in front of her. She sighs as she reads the information: Tesmo Abon - several stab wounds to the forehead, neck and chest. Clara Yebin - stab wounds all over her forehead and neck. Ickmund Barül - one stab wound to the forehead and several more to the back of the head.
While she obviously knows that soldiers of the Regime can be brutal, she also knows that wounds like these shouldn't be so consistent. They were just stab wounds too, not even bullet wounds, only a sharp instrument was used. And the worst part of it? It was the fact that there were so many lacerations.
It was almost as if the attacks were... made out of hatred. Of course, that's an expected possibility but she didn't need to worry about that. She just needed to worry about a very potential traitor, whom she still has to track down.
But for now, she just has to keep her eyes peeled and hope that her agents manage to catch the bastard responsible for such brutal kills.
