Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A favor

Wandering around the hometown of her, she couldn't help but to feel nostalgia with each second passing by. The leaves rustled as the strong gush of wind passed by while she stood on the bridge, putting a strand of her hair behind her ears looking over the deep blue ocean.

Feeling the vibration in her hand, she looked her phone screen, a small smile flashing on her face after realizing who it was as she pressed the green icon, accepting the phone call.

"Hey. How are you?" The person from the other end asked while she just chuckled with his question.

"You know it, the usual." She answered.

"I've got your mail, how can I not help you. Of course it's fine with you living with me as much as you want to. Although I can't guarantee that I will be able to take good care of you, but I will try my best."

"You don't have to. I just need a friend whom I can lean on not someone to pity me and look after me. Thank you so much, I owe you a big time." She replied.

"Okay. So, when will you be coming?" The latter one asked.

"Probably tonight."

"I will text you the address. See you later then."

"See you."

Hanging up the phone call, she hugged dearly onto her over coat as she blankly looked at the ocean. As the sun started to hide behind the big mountains, she set off to Seoul hoping for the best.

Enjoying the breeze and the song played in the car, she parked the car infront of a mansion after few difficulties of finding the exact location sent by that person.

Just as she got out of the car, a person came walking quickly out of the gate and recognizing who it was, she just smiled taking few steps forward to hug the person which the latter one didn't mind and just hugged her back too.

"Been a while, Scarlet." The bubbly looking guy said while letting go of the hug as she just smiled lightly.

"Yeah... how have you been?" She asked.

"You know it, the usual. Come on let's go inside... it's cold" He said.

Both of them went inside the big mansion, exchanging few words, getting to know about each other more. Indeed, it was little awkward for them to interact after few years of not meeting in person at all but nonetheless they did just fine with the extraordinary personality of Jung Hosoek who is working as a dance instructor to the trainees in the famous Bighit Entertainment, who didn't fail to make jokes and make the younger one laugh despite knowing her condition.

Soon, Scarlet decided to take a rest which hopefully the other one didn't mind and let her take rest while he just decided to make a light dinner for both of them.

Dozing off to sleep as soon as she landed her head on the soft pillow, she woke up after an hour or so with a phone call which was none other than from her personal doctor asking for her to get the report the next day.

Getting up, she walked down the stairs and saw him in the living room watching a show, more of a concert of the famous idols.

"Do you know him?" She asked standing behind the sofa as he glanced at her with a bright smile and nodded his head.

"Yup, his name is Jeon Jungkook, I am his dance instructor. I can't believe, that kid is better than me. He's just good in everything." He explained.

"His voice is good." She commented watching the brown haired boy singing while dancing at the same time.

"Wanna eat the dinner?" He asked while standing up and looking at her.

"That'll be okay I guess. Sorry for the inconvenience once again." She said with a guilty face to which he just waved his hand in the air in denial and just pulled her gently towards the dining table next to the kitchen.

Placing down the pasta and other side dishes on the table, Scarlet couldn't help but to comment how good it looks embarrassing him as he just laughed and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Any plans for tomorrow?" He asked after gulping down the bite of his pasta.

"Yeah, I've an appointment. What about you?" She asked back.

"Oh, I'm free tomorrow. Do you want me to go along with you?" Jung Hosoek asked looking at her questioningly.

"Will that be okay with you?" Asked Scarlet.

"Of course, why not. We could even buy some stuffs for the Christmas on the way back home. Don't tell me you forgot about the Christmas." He narrowed down his eyes as she just grinned sheepishly with a small shrug. "What am I gonna do with you?" He added making her just chuckle.

The next day came sooner than expected for Scarlet who was desperately wanting to escape the time she would be spending in the hospital but she knew it better, there was no escape.

Entering inside the office of her personal doctor, she made Jung Hosoek wait outside which the latter one respected her decision.

"Is everything alright, doctor?" She asked feeling the tension in the room as the doctor just seriously looked through her report.

"You didn't take your medicine, did you?" The doctor bluntly asked as she just looked away avoiding his intense stare.

"I did..." She started to speak slowly, pausing for few seconds in the mid way to clear her throat. "For one week" She completed her sentence to which the doctor just stared at her with a displeased look.

"This explains why. I'm afraid, Scarlet, your condition is becoming worse than I have imagined. You have to get admitted to the hospital soon." The doctor stated while she just looked at her lap feeling nothing.

Locking herself in a stall in the restroom in the hospital, she palmed her face, rethinking of what the doctor said. It was little hard to grasp the situation after knowing it's either she gets admitted and treated by the doctors or die with a thoughts of dying any day but despite that she didn't feel anything nor did she wanted to.

After washing her hands, she walked out of the restroom and headed back to where the car was parked and Jung Hosoek was waiting, forcing a smile to not to make the other one worry.
