Shenny grunted in irritation as she marched down the halls. The boy just didn't know when to shut up,did he?
"Hey! Are you even listening?!" He called out. Shenny halted and turned to face him. She pinched the space between her brows and sighed. "Michel. Please stop talking. Your annoying." Then turned around and continued her trek.
Michel pursed his lips and followed. They walked down the large hallway and turned into another one on the left. "Here's your class. Power Control."
She peered inside the class then nodded. "Great. Thanks." Michel nodded and spun on his heel, walking away without another word. Shenny felt kinda bad. Apparently,Michel lived with the humans for the first 13 years of his life before his father came to take him. Having someone from there might have made him chirpy.
She pushed open the door and stepped in.
Immediately, her eyes were drawn to the little clique lingering at the end of the class.
She could pick out Queenette, Judith and two more girls. She also spotted Swollen Head Dude, aka her guide, aka Prett Arland.
Her eyes scanned the room and she spotted a redhead looking out the window. She ambled her way towards her and leaned on the window beside her. "Hey." Shenny smiled. The girl looked up and nodded. "Hey." And turned back to looking out the window.
Okay, she thought and crossed her arms, looking away. Just then, she spotted Judith,Queenette and one other girl making their way towards her. She groaned, rolling her eyes exaggeratedly as they stopped in front of her. "Oh Orleanus. I asked you to keep pests away and keep the darkness at bay. Why didn't you listen?" She said aloud.
Judith sneered at her. "Since when did Orleanus answer pagans?" Shenny sighed. "Right? Don't you wonder why yours has never been?" Queenette growled and made to step forward but halted when Jud it raised a hand.
Shenny cocked an eyebrow. "Ooh! Lemme guess!" She pointed at Judith. "I guess your the Lady Bee...and Queenette is your Right Hand Bitch." She pointed at the other girl. "And you...whatever your name is...should be the Substitute Bitch."
The girl snarled at me. "My name is Aisha Kel Ruchedster, the 12th daughter of Lord Lanka Kel Ruchedster and Lady Samara Guid Formoran!" Shenny tsked. "I don't really care. Now please go away."
Judith was about to retaliate but then Prett cut in. "Just move away,Judith, and give us peace and quiet." Prett hissed. Shenny shook her head. "I second that, brother!"
Judith glared daggers at her and gripped her forearm and began to pull her away.
"Hey! What the hell! Let go of me,you retarded godforsaken beast female!!" Queenette gasped. "How...dare you!!"
"Now what is going on here?" A voice spoke behind her. Shenny turned around and spotted familiar golden hair and growled. "For the love of God,Mikhail, don't you have a class to be in? Why must you make it a life duty to..." Shenny paused when she realized that she was talking to an older Mikhail. One that was all muscle and stubble. One that was mouth watering.
Older Mikhail looked at her bemusedly, with an eyebrow raised. "My son tends to make a lot of enemies. I hope you don't plan on murder. I might not know how to mourn." Shenny's cheeks tinted pink as she yanked her arm away from Judith and cleared her throat, wringing her palms. "Ah,sorry. I didn't know that you..."
"Its alright. I'm Carlisle. Mikhail's father and your Power Control teacher." Shenny grinned. "Carlisle? Like from Twilight? The doctor?" Carlisle cocked an eyebrow, seemingly perplexed. "Pardon?"
Shenny huffed. "You know? Carlisle? The one from Twilight? Edward's foster dad that turned him into a vampire? The blondie one?!!" She heard Prett scoff and mutter something along the lines of, '...ignorant imbecile...'. She would deal with him later.
Carlisle scratched his head. "Sorry. I do not understand what you speak of but I assure you that I am no vampire." Shenny grunted in frustration and walked back to the window just as Carlisle clapped his hand.
"Okay. Today we will focus on the basics. Step on the mats everyone." There was shuffling as everyone took a match and sat cross legged on it. Shenny followed suit and sat beside Window Girl. Carlisle faced the class. "Okay, there is a tray in front of everyone for your use. Now,I want you to assert your elements on the tray."
Shenny watched as fire, water and earth appeared on students palms and then settled on the tray. "Those who are Air Elementals, please keep your air moving on your tray." He added as he walked around the class.
Window Girl had a little flame on her tray. Same with Prett and Judith. Queenette had a little swirling patch of water in her tray.
Shenny looked at her tray and hesitantly opened her palm towards it. Ice. Nothing happened. She licked her lips and closed her searching inside of her for anything. Ice.
She opened her eyes. Still nothing. A growl rumbled in her chest. "Miss Russel is there a problem?" Carlisle asked as he stopped beside her. Shenny swallowed. "Well,um.."
A harsh laughter rung out in the room. "I knew she was a defect! What? Can't you even make a little something for us,newbie? Pity. All bark and no bite." Judith leered and others snickered along.
Shenny felt her face grow hot. "No. Just...just give me a minute." She reached out frantically for something inside her. Ice. Ice. Ice. Come on! Carlisle's voice reached her again. "Miss Russel,if there is a problem, then it's alright. You can..."
"NO!!" Shenny thundered and got on her feet. "It's gotta work! It has to work!" She said, frantically. Ice. Ice. Ice. Where the hell is the stupid ice?!
"Look,Miss Russel,I can speak with the Headmaster and..." Shenny growled. "No! Fucking Ice!" She screamed in fury. Just then, numerous shards of ice shots out from her palms, narrowly missing Carlisle and hit the wall.
There were gasps as everyone in the room got to their feet. "Ice? She has ice powers?..."
"That's impossible..."
"I've never heard of an Ice Elemental..."
There were murmurs and an uprising in the room. Even Carlisle seemed to try to get his bearings. "Miss Russel...is...is that ice?"
Shenny frowned. "Is there something wrong with that?" Judith yelled just then. "There's everything wrong!! You freak! I knew there was something wrong with you! You human mutant!!"
"Judith! Stop it! Sit down right this minute!" Carlisle barked as he gripped Shenny's arm. Shenny stood motionless as the class caused an uproar. She was a freak? Her ice powers were freakish?
"Miss Russel? Please come with me. It's okay. Let's speak with the Headmaster and figure things out..." Shenny ripped her arm away from him. "No!!" She screamed, tears clouding her vision. "No! Leave me alone! All of you!" She wailed. The ice on the walls began to spread across the room. There were gasps as people began to step and stumble out of the way.
Carlisle gripped Shenny by the shoulders and shook her slightly. "Shenail. Calm down. Breathe in." Shenny shook her head fervently, tears streaking down her face. "Just leave me alone!" She sobbed and grabbed her bag, dashing out of the room.
Ice trails followed after her as she ran down the halls, causing a commotion amongst the others on their way. The trail folliwed her at her feet till she reached a secluded walk by with healthy bushes and benches. She flung her bag aside and curled up on the bench, sobbing.
First, she leaves home because she was weird. Now,she comes to a place where there are meant to be others like her and yet she still ends up being the odd one.
The cold ice began to surround the bench she sat on,making sharp jagged spikes at the edges and preventing any one from coming closer. She could still vaguely hear an audience yet she didn't care.
She had known from the very start that her powers were nothing but a curse.
