Chapter 83 - Angry young man

Alex pushed away Matthew and rubbed off the blood coming out of his nose.

Alex: You think you can win against me with violence?

Alex kicked him in the chest and threw several punches at him. Matthew reached out for the beer bottle lying beside him and smashed it on Alex's head making him collapse on the floor instantly. The manager of the bar called the police and an ambulance instantly causing even more panic.

Meanwhile, after having dinner Carla was waiting for Alex to pick her. She looked at the clock, it was already 9 pm.

Cindy cleaned up the kitchen and noticed her worried face, "What happened Aunt?"

Carla: I wonder where Alex is, it's already 9pm.

Carla replied anxiously.

Cindy looked at the clock and thought, 'He didn't have much work to do though. Is he out with Isabella?'

Carla: I hope he is alright, he didn't pick up my phone.

Cindy: Let me try.

At first, the phone kept ringing and no one answered. She tried two more times but it was still the same. On her fourth try a woman answered it. Cindy was shocked when she heard a woman's voice, "Um excuse me, Can I talk to Alex?"

Nurse: I'm a nurse from Westside Hospital, Mr. Robinson is currently in the emergency room.

Cindy: What!? What happened!?

Nurse: He was in a fight with the CEO of Ultraviolet records.

Cindy: HE WAS IN A WHAT WITH WHOM!?

Nurse: in a fight with—

Cindy: oh I got it, no need to repeat it. I'm on my way!

As soon as Cindy hung up the phone, Carla asked worriedly, "What happened? Is he alright?"

Cindy looked at her concerned face and couldn't find the guts to tell her the truth.

She took a deep breathe, "He is in the ER".

Carla: What!?

Cindy: Yes, but there's nothing to worry about, he is fine. I'm going there, you stay at home.

Carla: But..what happened!?

Cindy: He just got into a fight...with someone.

Carla put her hand on her head in stress, "What am I gonna do with this son of mine".

Cindy: it's okay, I'm going there. You won't have to worry.

Cindy quickly dressed up and left for the hospital. She hailed a taxi and called Matthew as she murmured, "You better give me a good reason".

Meanwhile, Matthew sat in front of the captain at the police station as his lawyer talked about the incident. Suddenly his phone rang grabbing everyone's attention. He looked at the caller ID, it was Cindy. There always used to be a gentle smile on his face whenever she called but now he knew the reason behind her calling him was not for him but for the man he sent to hospital.

He picked up the phone and was blown away from Cindy's anger.

Cindy: Where the hell are you!?

Matthew: What do you want?

Cindy: Why on Earth did you have a fight with Alex!?

Matthew: I didn't like what he said.
