Matthew: I'll call him later.
Melissa: Sure?
Matthew nodded obediently.
Melissa smiled, "That's great, now did you talk with Cindy?"
Matthew: Nope, she called me but I didn't pick it up.
Melissa: Is this how you're gonna end things with her?
Matthew: I'm not ending anything, I need some time for myself. I need a break from her.
Melissa: I see.
After few minutes of silence, Matthew leaned forward and put his head on his hand, "So...are you seeing anyone right now?"
Melissa rolled her eyes, "What is it now?"
Matthew: A friend of mine took interest in you.
Melissa looked down, "I see."
Matthew: You aren't still over Jacob, are you?
Melissa: Of course I am...
Matthew: Mel.
Melissa: Hm?
Matthew: I saw you having lunch with him.
Melissa: Matt, I came from China yesterday, how—
Matthew: I didn't say in LA.
Melissa: ...

Cindy quickly ran to Alex almost bumping on people on her way. After reaching his doorstep, she caught her breath and walked in.
Alex looked at her in surprise, "Didn't know I'd see you this fast, are you missing me that much?"
Cindy: Oh shut up, you won't believe what I saw just now.
Alex's face got serious instantly, "What happened?"
Cindy: Remember Mr. Robert White?
Hearing this name, Alex had a sudden bitter feeling in his heart, "Yeah...Why?"
Cindy: Turns out he was a fraud lawyer.
Alex: What? What do you mean?
Cindy: Yes, I just read an article. Every year, he chooses two people with any kind of court problem and takes money from them without any help.
Alex: That sounds so stupid.
Cindy: You think I'm kidding?
Alex: It's been 8 years since we got divorced, why is it now that he got caught?
Cindy: I don't know, it's in the news. There are other lawyers as well.
Alex: It makes no sense honestly, how could he get away so easily.
Cindy: He usually targets people who don't know much about all this stuff and is in dire need. We didn't have much idea back then as well, remember?
Alex: Hm.
Cindy: ?? What do you mean by "hm"? What are we gonna do!?
Alex: let's go to the police station where they kept him.
Cindy: Alright, I'll get my stuff.
Alex nodded and Cindy left hurriedly. All of a sudden, he felt this sudden rush of happiness that he couldn't stop smiling, 'if the divorce paper was fake does that mean we are still married? Is God giving me a chance to fix things?'

Cindy and Alex rushed inside the police station after taking the permission. When they entered, they saw Robert White sitting on a wooden seat gritting his teeth furiously.
Officer: Who are you two? Why are you here?
Alex: We are here to confirm if Mr.White is really a fraud.
Cindy: We got divorced with his help 8 years ago.
Officer: I see, what's your name?
Cindy: Cindy Andersen and this is Alexander Robinson.
After looking for a while on a paper, the officer looked up, "Well, I do see your name here. In the list of victims".
Cindy: So... it is...
Officer: I'm afraid yes, it is true. Your divorce wasn't finalized officially so you two are still married.
