The first week of the freshman schedule was to attending a lot of events prepared.
Most of the prestigious events were stuff that had been prepared for recruitment.
Recruitment for what?
Started from a small 4-man party through Guild or Clan invitation were what the recruitment was.
The curriculum of the Adventurer Academy was made for knows as a formality.
Students would be assessed by various examination or practical thing, but the most important was to be recruited in a group.
Of course, there were a lot of paths to be stepped on.
Teachers were able to recruit potential students that would also bring them to the ladder of success.
Obviously, the glorious statue of the Souldia Academy's hero was one of them.
Rayn was right in front of it. Freshman or any other student who was walking through the schoolyard was avoiding him.
The one walking in a group or pairs were walking away while covering their mouth.
They want to make sure their conversation was not overheard.
It was a normal occurrence for Rayn. He had been through that stuff back on elementary.
He was now 16 and decided to enter the lion's den.
It was his decision to enter Souldia Academy. He has prepared for the consequences.
He was born different from the other.
It was not a sin to be different from the other, it was just that his father's name haunted him.
There was a time when he hated his father so much.
Siron was right there when it happened to calm him down. The only brother he had who had given up his own future for him.
He was strong and respected by any, but he decided to taken care of Rayn.
The one he shouldn't do as a top-ranked adventurer.
All of them was happened because of one creature. Dragon.
Rayn could not help but holding his arm tightly.
He always got a goosebump whenever he thought of the Dragon.
All of the students here could attend the school as usual, but the frontline was harsh.
Even the retired Siron was being persuaded.
Rayn was so angry with the government upon knowing that information.
It was right after his elementary grade graduation, that event happened.
He did not want to be left alone at that time. Siron was really the only one he can rely on.
But, it was different this time. He had decided to follow his brother's path.
Instead of going to Senior High, he left the normal citizen path and chosen to enter the Adventurer Academy.
The path the other's won't choose if they were like Rayn.
He had the talent of the adventure path or best to say that everyone had it too.
It was the decision made by the family or the kid itself that made it different.
They could choose not to awaken the potential and follow a normal life as the majority goes.
Or, awaken their potential and lead their lives to face dangers.
Monsters were attracted by the awakened person and life won't be as peaceful as the others.
The same goes for Siron, he has retired, but he can't deny the danger he would face every day. For someone strong like him, monsters looked at him as a glorious huge feast.
And that's why awakened people must enter the academy.
The place that could give them the protection needed.
"Rayn."
He was startled by the sudden voice calling him.
It was a familiar voice of someone he knew.
"Ah, Vana?."
"Sorry about yesterday, I couldn't do anything."
If it was other people saying it, Rayn would be gritted his teeth so hard to hold back his anger.
But of course, he couldn't to the girl in front of him.
"Don't come close to me Vana, you will get into trouble."
Vana is a girl with black long hair. The black color was shining splendidly under the sun.
She was a 166 cm girl who was slightly shorter than Rayn.
Back when they were a child, she was already famous for her small face beauty.
They crossed paths once again in this academy after 10 years.
Vana had chosen the path of adventurer since her elementary age.
She entered the Trainee Academy since then.
A place for the kids who had chosen into a path of adventurer to prepare themselves for awaken and next stuff to it.
They would only meet occasionally when Siron brought them somewhere.
"I.. I can take care of myself, don't worry about me."
Vana was attracting attention with her loud scream.
Students began to look at their direction.
For them, this was a manifestation of Beauty and the Beast. A famous movie a while ago.
Rayn was not ugly, but for them, the messy and pitiful appearance he made from yesterday was enough to judge him.
Rayn could only cursed on his mind.
"What are you doing here again? Mr. Arcvicc?" The blonde guy, Gigra Gervian has made his appearance out of nowhere.
This was the golden opportunity for him to made trouble for Rayn once again.
"You shouldn't discredit our hero name like that, young master."
The one talking was someone familiar to Rayn as well.
He did not have blonde hair, but this guy was part of the Gigra's clan.
The corrupted referee from before.
'He is really his lackey, huh?'
Rayn could only grit his teeth. Whatever he wanted to do now could not be achieved. He could only suppress his anger.
"Stop it, please. Do not harm Rayn again."
"Who are you to defend me?"
The voice was not from the blonde guy, but instead from an unexpected direction.
It came from her back. Rayn said it.
"Hey hey. Aren't you being too cocky now? A princess tried to defend you, but what you said just now?"
"Who are you to defend me?"
Rayn was repeating the same sentence once again, answering Gigra's question.
"You dare you bastard!"
"Please! Stop it!" Vana screamed.
"Move! Princess!"
Gigra talked while made a different tone when saying the word 'princess'.
"Huh! Princess? You ain't pretty enough to be called princess."
Vana was startled by what Rayn just said. Her eyes began to tear up hearing that insult.
"What did you say!? You bastard!!"
Gigra was really agitated hearing that and rushed to the origin of the voice.
"Please stop!"
Vana was tried to block the upcoming attack, but she was pushed away from an unexpected direction.
"Move ugly."
"Bastard!!!"
Gigra rushed with a very red face boiled with anger.
