"Oh--" Edward sighed and said in desperation: "Without a deer, you can't make a bow and arrow. What should I do!"
He clenched his fists tightly and stared ahead. Everyone looked at him with worry, unsure of his reaction.
Only Night was aware of the dilemma faced by Edward. She moved even closer and sat down next to him.
"Light, you said the bow and arrow are a kind of weapon, can only deer help you make them?"
"Night…. Not just deer ribs and tendons, but at the moment considering big games, only the docile deer are the best chance to hunt. Ferocious animals like boars and buffalos are hard with just us!"
Making bows and arrows was the key to being able to overcome Titan and his clan. Only then would Edward get the chance to settle down in peace and start building his foundations. It was an indispensable weapon, and it had to be made.
'But what can we do now? Use tough plant fibers? Leather rope? These kinds of things are not flexible, and the arrows that are shot would have no strength at all.'
Without bows and arrows, there was no way for Edward to compete with the Titan. Not only he won't be able to protect Night from Titan but his own life was in danger at this point. He felt afraid the more the thought about it.
"Brother Light, you just said tendon? Deer ribs? What you have been trying to get these two days is the deer ribs?" The delicate face of Daisy was vivid as she asked with a small smile.
"Well, deer ribs and tendons are very important to us, if we can't get it, our troubles will be big!"
There was never a concept of bow and arrow in the mind of Daisy. People in their time would not think about things after tomorrow. They were already busy surviving and had less time for innovation.
Even if Edward said that he had to hunt a deer to make a weapon to hunt deer, she could not understand what his dilemma was.
"If you only want deer ribs and tendons, I have seen one before, a dead deer left behind. A bit large in size."
"Daisy, where is that deer now?"
Like a star that shone brightly in this darkness, Edward grabbed Daisy's shoulder and asked in a hurry.
"Ouch, Light brother, you hurt me!" Daisy shouted, Edward quickly released his hand, his eyes full of expectations, even Night came together.
"My sister speak quickly; Light has been dying to get a deer for days!" spoke Night
"Sister, you know about Wolf from Cloud Tribe. We've been together several times but he found another girl and left me…." She seemed to be remembering the good times of her past before her face turned sad.
"Daisy, do you trust me, your Light brother?" Edward held his hands on Daisy's shoulders, looking directly at her eyes and solemnly said.
"Trust."
"Why do you trust me?"
"I trust Night sister, she brought you, so I trust you too."
"Only this?"
"And... you are different from everyone else, you will make a fire, you can catch a rabbit, you let us eat, too.... I have a lot of things that feel very fresh to me."
"Silly Daisy, everything you said is nothing but something simple for me. I'd still do it all for a friend"
Edward put his hand down from Daisy's shoulders and grabbed her hand.
"What I can do is far from this. I will make your life change dramatically, but now,"
He paused,
"I don't have a deer! If you want me to win the gamble with Titan, for the sake of your Night sister, you have to help me! I just need a deer and time. I'll hunt you as many deer as you want but I need some place to start."
He continued after a word;
"I need your help, I don't know Wolf but if he has a deer, we need it."
"But...." The Daisy scratched her head and her face was full of worry.
Edward understood what it felt like meeting again with your ex-lover. He himself understood more than others. He could understand her hesitation as she had her own pride. And he understood that if she was to ask a favor from the other party, it might mean sleeping together with them once again.
This was the way the original society of the world was at the moment.
'Lets make a plan to fool that Wolf guy. Lets have Daisy bait him and somehow get the deer we want.'
But even Edward was not too hopeful of the result and it felt like it would go down the sex route no matter what he might try. His gut kept telling him that. There was nothing he could do but make it the least possible possibility.
Looking at Night and Daisy, he knew that their sense of values were different from his and this would be different to them compared to himself. He still felt like he was using Daisy.
'What if I am really overthinking things? Does modern logic really work here…. I wonder."
