OPHELIA'S POV
I kissed him and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. His hand rested below my ear, his thumb caressing my cheek as our breaths mingled. I ran my fingers in his hair, scared to touch his bare body. He pulled me closer until there was no space left between us. I could feel the beating of his heart against my chest.
The kiss obliterated every thought. For the first time in forever, my mind was locked into the present. The worries of the day evaporated like a summer shower onto a hot car.
