OPHELIA'S POV
"XAVIER! RUN! MOVE AWAY!"
My heart was going at a speed I didn't think it could manage for any longer. I couldn't see Xavier being threatened that way. I knew his answer too damn well. And I'd rather die than let him work in that gang.
It was called Uccidi, o muori for a reason. It literally meant, kill, or die.
I couldn't let him join this gang. Joining this gang meant signing his life away. I was angry. Furious, actually. He was being forced to pay for all the mishaps done by his father and sister.
When Xavier began to speak his answer, the evil glint in Luco's eyes triggered me somehow. It made me feel like, Luco had created a trap for Xavier and he was falling into it. My body moved on its own. One moment, I was standing in front of Xavier, and the next, I had snatched the gun from Luco's hand and was pointing it at his foot.
"One move and I will press the trigger to the loaded pistol, Luco."
