OPHELIA'S POV
Was that gold?
Coming out of Damon's eyes?
He refused to look away from my face. His shoulders trembled a little as he shook. Silent sobs reverberated in the room as his hands clenched into fists. It looked like he was at war. A war against his own darkness.
Ahh, the irony.
An angel at a war with his own darkness.
A single tear rolled down his cheek as his baby blue eyes were no longer the sky's color. They were the stormy ocean. The darkness in the sky; the one that draws you in but you run away from it.
A single tear turned into stifled sobs as his shoulders shook tremendously. Like mountains in an earthquake. His legs gave in.
He collided with the floor as the shiny substance poured out of his eyes.
I could hear the raw pain in his voice. He kept repeating the words, "I left her to die there.", over and over again.
