Chapter 32 - The Last Blast

QuickShot:

Fighting through the headache as I push myself up, I hear Dr. Cho's voice.

"Fire," she shouts, "Fire and bring this whole place down!"

I hear the sound of the energy cannon going off and look. A red blast is heading for a crumbling ceiling.

"If it hits," I tell myself, "If it hits, and the ceiling comes falling down."

I look at Ms. Justice as I picture the ceiling coming down. I imagine her being crushed, and as I do, I feel something building up inside of me.

"No," I scream, shooting out my hand. As I shoot out my hand, it starts to glow a bright red. I feel my power flowing out, only it feels different from before. It doesn't feel like I'm losing energy. If anything, it feels like I'm gaining more energy. Like I'm powering up myself.

Using my newfound energy, I focus a barrier around the blast. I watch with a smile as the blast with a barrier hits the ceiling. My barrier is more than able to absorb the full power of the blast from the Iron Fist's cannon, leaving the ceiling unharmed.

"No," Dr. Cho cries as she stares at the ceiling. "No!"

She snaps her head down and looks at me with twitching eyebrows and grinding teeth.

"Remember me," I say, grabbing my bow off the floor. With the bow in my hand, I reach behind and grab some arrows. Pulling the bowstring back, I aim at Dr. Cho.

"Not so fast," the evil doctor shouts. She swings her hand and, out of nowhere, a small flying robot with two arms appears beside me. It grabs my bow and tries to take it away.

"Let go," I say, fighting for my bow.

While I fight for my bow, I hear Dr. Cho screaming.

"Prepare the energy cannon," she yells as the Iron Fist armor keeps the other away from her. With one arm, the Iron Fist swings and fires blasters while on the other arm, the energy cannon is powering up.

"Let go of my bow," I say, stomping my foot against the robot. However, the robot stays strong. Even with my foot against it, it won't let go.

"Let go," a voice shouts. "Servant, let go of the bow."

I turn and see a shaking, smoking Silent standing behind me.

"Servant," he says, "Let go of the bow. Now!"

"I cannot," the robot named Servant says. "I am sorry, Master, but she is too strong. I cannot."

"Then I'm sorry too," Silent says. Without warning, Silent rushes forward. He grabs an arrow from my quiver and stabs the Servant robot with it. The robot lets go of my bow as he gently falls to the floor in Silent's hand.

"Master," the robot says.

"Servant," Silent says. "You were the only friend I had for all these years. Thank you."

"Master," the robot says again before the light in its eye turns off. As the light turns off, Silent bows his head.

"Go," he says after a minute. "Go and defeat Dr. Cho. JumpStart already had the shut-off program. All you need to do is install it."

"Of course," I say. I take my bow and prepare some arrows. I then leave Silent and runs toward the Iron Fist armor.

SpeedBlade:

"I need to get close," JumpStart says as he jumps out of the way of the blaster fire.

"I will draw the armor's fire," I say, running toward the Iron Fist armor. Already firing at me, I have to run in a zig-zag pattern.

"I will too," Ms. Justice yells. She runs from the side and jumps. Falling to the floor, she slides along it and hits the foot. Dr. Cho seeing this orders the armor to stomp its foot. However, at that moment, when the armor is raising its foot, arrows from behind us shoot and hit the armor.

While one arrow explodes and unleashes a net that wraps around the Iron Fist armor, the second arrow explodes into a familiar foam. It bubbles up quickly, eating and swallowing up part of the net.

With the foam holding the net firmly down and the Iron Fist standing on one foot, it becomes unsteady and falls to the floor.

"Go, go, go," QuickShot shouts as she runs up from behind us. "JumpStart!"

"I got it," JumpStart says as he runs up to the armor. Struggling to get free from the net, the armor can't do anything when JumpStart lands on it. He pokes around for a bit before finding what I'm guessing is a port.

About to hook in the hard drive, JumpStart is stopped by a screaming Dr. Cho. Jumping and knocking JumpStart to the floor, she hits and knocks the hard drive out of JumpStart's hand.

With her power, she then commands the Iron Fist Armor to slam the drive with one of its hands.

"Ha," she says, "Ha! The hard drive is destroyed, and the cannon is only seconds from shooting! You lose!"

While yelling at us, Dr. Cho doesn't see JumpStart bringing up one of his stun batons. He flips it around before stunning Dr. Cho with it. Screaming as she is shocked, JumpStart pushes her off of himself.

"She's right," JumpStart says after quickly getting up. "Without the program, we can't defeat the armor."

"It won't be long before it breaks through the net," I say. "We need a new plan."

"Come on," Ms. Justice says. "We've come this far. We can't give up yet."

"I have an idea," SpeedBlade says, immediately all eyes turning toward him. "Ms. Justice, please give me your shield."

Ms. Justice doesn't even need to ask. She gives SpeedBlade his shield. The moment he had her shield, he runs.

"Was that part of the plan," Ms. Justice asks.

SpeedBlade:

Using my speed, I run right up to one of the walls of the room. I then turn around and bring up Ms. Justice's shield so it's in front of me.

"I only got one shot at this," I tell myself. "Only one shot, but I know I can do it."

I look at QuickShot, Ms. Justice, and even JumpStart as they surround the Iron Fist armor.

"I know I can do it."

I push myself off the wall. Giving myself a running headstart, I charge at super speed. Everything is a blur as I run. Nothing looks clear. Nothing except the Iron Fist armor.

"Move," I scream, my friends barely have enough time to get out of the way as I run past them. I run right into the right arm of the Iron Fist armor. With the added speed, I'm able to push it down. Now, the cannon is aimed right at the armor itself.

"I get it," JumpStart says. "I know what SpeedBlade is trying to do."

"So does the armor," QuickShot adds. "Look!"

The Iron Fist armor is struggling to push me off of it. It's trying to shake and push me off. Screaming as the armor throws its arm, I have to wrap one of my arms around the cannon so I don't fly off.

"Doggy pile," Ms. Justice says, running and jumping onto the arm herself. Landing on top of me, we both push the cannon down a little but it's not enough.

"Make room," JumpStart screams, jumping on top of us.

"Geronimo," QuickShot shouts, adding her weight. Together, with the four of us on top, we pin the cannon against the armor's chest.

"Everyone hold on," QuickShot screams.

"Stay strong," Ms. Justice yells.

"Just a little more," I shout.

"It's time," JumpStart says.
