Jonah (POV)
I arrived home at my usual time but still, today was different because my parents were waiting for me and I felt happy about that. I became happier when my mom prepared waffles for me. She even cooked dinner for me which is wings chicken I think if Ariana would be here she would eat whole chicken wings. Thinking of her she is a good person and very talented except one thing that is studying but I think she can do even good when she knows the value of knowledge but she has some basics knowledge but for the future, she has to work hard for it but when I saw her painting it was really beautiful. I was broken out of my thought when I heard mom calling me for dinner. I walked downstairs and sat on the dining chair. Mom served me chicken wings when she started speaking.
"How your school is going?" she asked.
"It's good" I replied.
"Did you make new friends?" Dad asked.
"Yes, I made lots of friends" I replied honestly.
"Are they coming tomorrow?" Mom asked.
"Yes, they are coming at dinner hour" I replied. I didn't said them at what time so I will send a message after having dinner. After a few minutes, my phone rang and it was from 'Mr. Gonzales' why he is calling me? I asked myself and after the second ring, I answered his call.
"Have you seen Ariana? She didn't arrive yet and her phone is also switched off" he asked in a worried voice and I got shocked.
"What? She didn't arrive yet" I asked to confirm.
"Yes"
"Don't worry Mr. Gonzales, I am going to search for her" I assured him.
"Mom, Dad I will come soon don't worry about me I will be here ASAP," I said to them and walked outside with an umbrella and car key. How can she go somewhere in this heavy rain?
Today is Friday and last time she told me that she hangs out with her friends all weekend so I decided to call Rain and Lisa. First I made a call to Rain because they are childhood friends and they are very close to each other.
"Have you seen Ariana after school?" I asked him.
"No, after school I directly came to my house because my grandma had a checkup in the hospital so we didn't have any plan to meet and why are you asking? is there any problem?" he asked but as he said he is busy with her grandmother for a check-up so I didn't want to make him worry and I replied "no" to him and before he can have another chance to ask questions I hanged up because I didn't have time to talk him and I was also driving so I don't want to talk too long and then I called for Lisa and she said she is with her relatives so I didn't bother to tell her as well because she is far away so I didn't tell her that Ariana didn't arrive till now. Mr. Gonzales said that her phone is switch off but still I wanted to make a call but as he said it was switched off. After thinking today morning she said that Scarlett and she became friends maybe she would be with her. I decided to make a call. Thank god I took her phone number.
"Have you seen Ariana after school?" I went to a straight point.
"Yes, I treated her with ice-cream and after having ice-cream I told her that I will give her a ride but she didn't agree. I tried convinced her a lot but she didn't listen, is there any problem?"
"She didn't arrive until now at her house. His dad called me to search for her so I called you because Rain and Lisa both are busy so I called you" I explained to her.
"WH...what? I told her that it's raining and I will give her a ride but she didn't listen" She said while panicking.
"Don't panic just tell me the name of the ice-cream parlor" I asked.
"Snow world ice cream parlor" she replied.
I decided to go there maybe she would be standing there waiting for the rain to slow down and her battery had died that's why her phone would die there were so many thoughts in my mind. I was on the way when I saw a girl wearing the same uniform as our school uniform and the same height as Ariana I stopped the car near her and saw that she was Ariana finally I found her. I took the umbrella and went towards her and covered her with my umbrella. She was totally wet and when I saw her elbow and knee it has wound. First I grabbed her hand and took her in the car and made her sit in the passenger seat and I took the seat in the driver seat without any words she sat. I removed tissue paper and gave to her and she started to wipe the wound and she made a sound like it's paining so I took the cotton from the bag and I slowly started cleaning the blood. Thank god I had cotton in my bag.
"How did you know that I was here?" she tilted her head in confusion.
"Scarlett told me everything" I replied and she nodded and a question raised in my mind.
"Why didn't you took a taxi," I asked.
"I thought to take a taxi but when I removed my purse to know how much I have the wallet was snitch from my hand by the thief I ran towards him but he went on his bike then I gave up" she replied with a pout on her face.
Why do I found her cute?
"How did you get hurt?" I asked.
"I was coming home by walking and then somebody was in hurry. He didn't notice me and pushed me and I fell down" she replied.
"What about the phone?" I asked another question I know it may not have a charge but still, I want to know from her.
"It didn't come into my mind to call someone" after hearing that I facepalm myself feeling stupid myself to ask her then I decided to tell her.
"We called you but your phone was switched off," I said to her. She took out her phone and saw that it was switched off because it doesn't have a charge.
"Then if I would remember to call someone it would be useless," she said and I wanted to laugh so hard but I didn't because she may get hurt by that.
"Let's call your dad, he was worried about you," I said her and she nodded. I called Mr. Gonzales and in the first ring, he answered.
"Have you got any information about her?" He asked more worriedly.
"Yes Mr. Gonzales, she is with me and we will arrive there soon so don't worry now" I assured him and I started the car engine before hanging the call.
"Thanks for coming," she said slowly.
"It's ok" I replied.
We reached her house after half an hour and the ride was in complete silence. We were now entering into the hall and saw Mr. Gonzales waiting patiently when he saw Ariana he came towards her and hugged her.
"Where were you? And how did you get hurt, let's go to the hospital?" he asked her panicking when he saw her wound on her elbow and knee.
"Dad it's not a big wound to go hospital we have ointment so I will apply it" she replied.
Mr. Gonzales grabbed her hand and made her sit on the couch and then he went to his bedroom after a few minutes he came out with ointment and sat down beside her and applied ointment to her.
"You didn't tell me how you got hurt?" he asked her again after applying ointment.
"Actually..." she was going to say but I interrupted her.
"Mr. Gonzales I will explain everything thing but first let her go and changed her uniform because it's all wet then she might get a fever," I told him, he nodded towards her daughter. She went to her room, and I explained everything thing to him.
"Thank you, Jonah," he said.
"It's ok Mr. Gonzales" I replied to him.
"Did you had dinner?" he asked and I totally forgot about my chicken wings made by my mom after a few minutes I replied.
"My parent would have to wait for me, can I leave?" I asked.
"Yes, sure. And sorry that I have disturbed you" he apologized, he is a really kind man.
"No need to apologize, Mr. Gonzales," I said and he nodded. I walked inside my house and saw mom and dad waiting for me and they started to speak.
"Where did you go?" mom asked
"A friend needed me" I replied.
"Which friend?" dad asked.
"I'm hungry mom, dad," I said changing the topic because I don't want to answer.
"Let's go and eat our dinner then," mom said and why I think that they didn't have their dinner too.
"Have you both didn't had dinner?" I asked.
"We were waiting for you" Dad replied. I am really surprised by my parents today. We sat on the dining chair and started eating our chicken wings.
Ariana (POV)
Flashback
I decided to take a taxi but I didn't know how much I have in the wallet. I took out my wallet to see after taking it out someone came running from behind me and took my wallet from my hand and started running. I ran behind him but he was faster than me and then he took a bike with some other guy but still I ran for a few minutes to catch the bike but it was too fast so I gave up. I started to walk to the house and I came really far away from my house. After a few minutes of walking in the rain, I fall down because someone was in a hurry so he pushed me and went away from me without looking at my direction. I got wound in the elbow and knee, I got up on my legs and started walking again. After a long minute's one car came and stopped in front of me and I too stopped because the car was familiar. Someone came out of the car with an umbrella and when I saw it was Jonah I felt very happy. He came in front of me and covered me with an umbrella and took me into the car. I started to wipe my wound but it was paining and I think Jonah understood and started to clean. He asked me so many questions and I replied to him. After reaching home dad hugged me and I know he wanted to scold me but thanks to Jonah he helped me to go to my room.
Present
I entered my room and took my sweat top and pants and went to take a shower. After having a warm shower I felt relaxed. I went to the hall, when dad saw me he called out to have dinner he made my favorite lasagna. I sat on the chair and started to eat.
"You are grounded for one week you won't get your phone because you don't remember to charge and from now onwards where ever you go you have to inform me," he said in relaxing mode and my jaw drop.
"Dad!!! If you take my phone how do I inform you?" I asked.
"You have to inform one day before" he replied with a stern voice.
"Dad one week is a long time," I said with my puppy eyes.
"Decision is final, Aari," he said and I frown. I don't even want to skip my dinner because it's yummy and now I understood why he made my favorite dish. After having dinner I went to my room and fall down on my bed.
