During our shoping, Hagrid bought me an owl saying it was a birthday present. I wanted to refuse, said that he already gave me more then I could ever hope by getting me away from the Durslays and bringing me to the magical world, but he insisted.
I am now holding a large bird cage with my new owl. The owl was a female and had beatifull snow white fethers. Hagrid helped me name it: Edwiges(A/N:"I've heard that the name is 'head wig' in the original... Yeah, I'm using a dub name instead-_-").
Hagrid:"Excited?"
Me:"Yes."
We left the best for last: Ollivander's wand shop!
The shop was narrow and shabby. Peeling gold letters over the door read [Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C]. A single wand lay on a faded purple cushion in the dusty window.
A tinkling bell rang somewhere in the depths of the shop as we stepped inside. It was a tiny place, empty except for a single, spindly chair that Hagrid sat on to wait.
???:"Good afternoon."
The soft voice came out of nowhere. Hagrid jumped, there was a loud crunching noise as he got up too quickly from the spindly chair. However, that was not the only crunching noise of the moment.
*CRUNCH*
Yes, I punched the owner of the voice.
The owner of the voice fell on the floor, holding his now broken nose. He was an old man aparently.
Me and Hagrid just stand there, looking at the pained old man on the floor.
Akward...
After a few moments, the old man finaly pulled himself together enought to get his wand and cast a spell on his nose to fix it.
*CRUNCH*
???:"Right handed I see. Nice reflexes by the way."
The old man slowly got up from the floor, his wide (and now teared), pale eyes shining like moons.
Me:"Dude! Don't go jumpscaring people like that!"
???:"Sorry about that."
The old man dusted himself a bit before extending his hand for a handshake.
???:"I'm Ollivander, the owner of this shop. What may I do for you today?"
I took the handshake and introduced myself.
Ollivander:"Ah yes. Yes, yes. I thought I'd be seeing you soon. Mr.Potter. I have to say, you have your mother's eyes. It seems only yesterday she was in here herself, buying her first wand. Ten and a quarter inches long, swishy, made of willow. Nice wand for charm work. Your father, on the other hand, favored a mahogany wand. Eleven inches. Pliable. A little more power and excellent for transfiguration. Well, I say your father favored it but it's really the wand that chooses the wizard, of course."
Ollivender then looked at my scar.
Ollivander:"And that's where.... *sigh* I'm sorry to say I sold the wand that did this. Thirteen-and-a-half inches. Yew. Powerful wand, very powerful, and in the wrong hands... well, if I'd known what that wand was going out into the world to do...."
He shook his head and then spotted Hagrid.
Ollivander:"Rubeus! Rubeus Hagrid! How nice to see you again.... Oak, sixteen inches, rather bendy, wasn't it?"
Hagrid:"It was, sir, yes."
Ollivander:"Good wand, that one. But I suppose they snapped it in half when you got expelled?"
Me:'Expelled!?'
I look at Hagrid with a questioning gaze. He returned it with a 'I don't wanna talk about it' look.
Hagrid:"Er. Yes, they did, yes. I've still got the pieces, tho."
Ollivander:"But you don't use them?"
Hagrid:"Oh no, sir. I'm still banned from using magic, you know?"
I noticed that Hagrid gripped his pink umbrella very tightly at the question.
Ollivander:"Hmmm."
Ollivander, gave Hagrid a piercing look.
Me:'Banned from using magic? Hagrid seems to have quite a dark past that he left behind....'
Ollivander:"Well, now. Mr. Potter. Let me see."
Ollivander pulled a long tape measure with silver markings out of his pocket.
Ollivander:"Right handed, right?"
He winced a bit remembering my punch.
I nod.
Ollivander:"Hold out your arm. That's it."
He measured me from shoulder to finger, then wrist to elbow, shoulder to floor, knee to armpit, around my head...
Me:"Is this all realy necessary?"
I am genualy curious. This is a new world I'm stepping into after all.
Ollivander nodded, and started talking as he measured.
Ollivander:"Every Ollivander wand has a core of a powerful magical substance, Mr. Potter. We use mainly unicorn hairs, phoenix tail feathers, and the heartstrings of dragons. No two Ollivander wands are exactly the same, just as no two unicorns, dragons, or phoenixes are quite the same. And of course, you will never get such good results with another wizard's wand. So make sure to take good care of your wand."
After the mesuring, Ollivander whent to the back of the shop and started taking out some boxes.
Ollivander:"Right then, Mr. Potter. Try this one. Beechwood and dragon heartstring. Nine inches. Nice and flexible. just take it and give it a wave."
I took the wand and (feeling foolish) waved it around a bit, but Ollivander snatched it out of my hand almost at once.
Ollivander:"Maple and phoenix feather. Seven inches. Quite whippy. Try it."
I tried, but I had hardly raised the wand when it, too, was snatched back by Ollivander.
Ollivander:"No, no. Here, ebony and unicorn hair, eight and a half inches, springy. Go on, go on, try it out."
I tried. And tried. I have no idea what Ollivander was waiting for. The pile of tried wands was mounting higher and higher on the spindly chair, but the more wands Ollivander pulled from the shelves, the happier he seemed to become.
Ollivander:"Tricky customer, eh? Not to worry, we'll find the perfect match here somewhere. I wonder, now... Yes, why not?"
He fetched a box that was way in the back of the store. Weirdly enought, the box was shaking. Like the wand inside desparedly wanted to come out.
Ollivander:"Wow! It seems we found it! This is unheard of! Your wand sure is eager to be with you!"
When the box got sufficiantly close, I felt it.
A tug in my soul. A familiar one at that!
Me:'No way!'
As soon as Ollivander opened the box, the wand rapidly flew towards me. I similarly jumped towards it, not wanting to be apart for a fraction of a second longer.
As soon as the wand touched the palm of my hand, it exploded! Wood bits flew all over the store. And in my hands, a familiar friend.
Ollivander and Hagid, who had covered their eyes from the wooden shrapnel, now looked in both awe and confusion at the oversized sword in my hands.
It looked like a massive khyber knife. Black with a silver cutting edge, 1.75 meters long, no hand guard, no sheath, an improper handle that is just the blade's tang wraped in white cloth.
Me:"Zangetsu!"
I have tears in my eyes. I never thought I'd see my zampakto again.
Ollivander:"Well, that happened."
Hagrid:"Well, what the heck DID happened!?"
Ollivander:"You blind? The wand exploded and it's core turned into that."
Hagrid:"*Eye twitches* That much I've noticed! I'm asking how and why!?"
Ollivander:"*shrugs* Don't look at me. I made an eleven inches holly wand, not a godam sword! And I also have no clue as to why or how the phoenix feather inside would turn into it. The only thing I can say is that the wood of the wand had nothing to do with it, seeing as it got blasted to pieces instead of turning alongside the feather."
As the two of them kept arguing and trying to wrap their heads allong what happened, I just sit down on the floor in a meditative position, Zangetsu laying on my lap.
I enter my inner world.
Zangetsu:"Ichigo! Long time no see!"
I look arround my inner world till I find an almost pure white version of myself.
I hugged Zangetsu.
Me:" I missed you white."
Zangetsu:"I missed you too strawberry."(A/N:"My Ichigo and my Zangetsu are friends and don't fight for control of Ichigo's body. I imagine that all the 'I'll take your body if you are weak' thing was just Zangetsu trying to help Ichigo get stronger. So yeah, They solved their problems a wile ago before Ichigo transmigrated here.")
After the hug, we started talking. Caching up, Trying to figure out why and how we are here, why was he the core of my wand, etc.
Me:"So not only you are my zampakto, but you are also my wand now?"
Zangetsu:"Yup."
Me:"That will be akward."
I imagine myself in hogwarts, waving my gigantic sword arround while my classmates use sticks that are smaller then their forearm. I hope I don't acidently behead anyone important.
Zangetsu:"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Zangetsu started rolling on the floor laughting.
Zangetsu:"Don't worry strawberry, just use your fingers and cast spells like you do kido."
Me:"I've never cast a kido tho."
Zangetsu:"Yes, and that is something we will fix! I'll teach you."
I did not opose. I was never a kido guy, but now I am literaly going to a wizarding school.
Zangetsu:"Oh, right. I almost forgot."
Zangetsu started walking somewhere and gestured me to follow. When we arrived, I diden't fully understood what I was looking at.
It was a giant blob of black... stuff.... The aura it radiated reminded me of the siners I saw in hell. Evil and roten.
Hollows are evil spirites, yes, but they are not to blame for their souls getting corrupted. Hollows are mostly primal instinct made spiritual flesh, they eat everything in sight in an attempt to fill the void in their hearts, they are no better then starving animals. they can't diferenciate right from wrong. Because of this, their souls feel corrupted, twisted, lost, sad, hungry, erratic, agressive, chaotic, mad, and a lot more, but hardly ever staight up evil! For something to feel like this, it has to know that what it does is wrong, and continue to do it anyway!
Zangetsu:"I found it a while ago. It is a soul that got stuck to yours somehow."
Me:"Souls don't look like this normaly."
Zangetsu:"No, they don't. This one has been severely tempered with to become quite hollow like in nature. Whoever this soul bellonged to, sacrifieced a lot of their humanity in exchange for power. This thing here actualy seems to be a fragment, like why the hell would someone willingly break their soul apart? Did they wanted to become 2?"
Me:"If this is a fragment, where is the rest?"
Zangetsu:"Who knows? It is not here at least. Anyway, I wanted to eat it so it is destroyed, but I thought you'd like me to ask permission first."
Me:"Thanks. And yeah, you can eat it. I don't know if hell exists here and by the aura, this thing here totaly deserves it. So go ahead."
Zangetsu smiled.
Zangetsu:"You need to wake up now. Remember to come back for kido practice."
I nod and exit my inner world.
I got up from the floor and ask Ollivander(Who was still talking to Hagrid) how much I own him for the 'wand'.
Ollivander and Hagrid snaped out of it.
Ollivander:"Before that, there is something I need to tell you about your... 'wand'."
I raise an eyebrow.
Ollivander:"I remember every wand I've ever sold, Mr. Potter. Every single wand. It so happens that the phoenix whose tail feather is in your wand, gave another feather, just one other. It is very curious indeed that you should be destined for this wand when its brother why, its brother is the one that gave you that scar."
Hagrid:"You-Know-Who's wand!?"
Ollivander:"Yes, thirteen-and-a-half inches. Yew. Curious indeed how these things happen. The wand chooses the wizard, remember.... I think we must expect great things from you, Mr. Potter.... After all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things, terrible, yes, but great."
Ollivander gave us a moment to digest the news before informing us the wand's price(7 galleons).
I paid for the wand and exited the shop. Zangetsu on my shoulder.
Hagrid:" I guess now I can say I've seen it all. A wand turning into a sword... *sigh*. I'll message professor Dumbledore, so you won't get in trouble for carring a weapon arround school."
Me:'If only you knew all that I saw....*chuckes*'
Me:"Thank you Hagrid."
Hagrid:"No problem son."
The late afternoon sun hung low in the sky as we made our way back down Diagon Alley, and back to the Leaky Cauldron.
Hagrid:"I'll have some dinner now. Do you want anything Harry?"
Me and Hagrid ordered some food from Tom and eat scilently, until Hagrid broke it at some point.
Hagrid:"You all right, Harry? You seem very quiet."
I finish chewing before answearing.
Me:"Today was the best birthday of my lifes, but I'm still weirded out about how everyone thinks I'm so special. I don't know anything about magic at all. How can they expect great things from me? I'm famous for doing something I have no clue about. I don't know what happened when Vol-! S-sorry. I mean, the night my parents died."
Hagrid leaned across the table. Behind the wild beard and eyebrows he wore a very kind smile.
Hagrid:"Don' you worry, son. You'll learn magic soon enough. Everyone starts at the beginning at Hogwarts, you'll be just fine. just be yourself. I know it's hard. You've been singled out, and that's always hard. But you'll have a great time at Hogwarts. I know I did. Still do, matter of fact."
Hagrid finished eating and then handed me an envelope.
Hagrid:" That is Your ticket for Hogwarts. First of September. King's Cross. It's all on the ticket. Any thing you need, send me a letter with your owl, she'll know where to find me.... I'm afraid I have to go now. See you in Hogwarts."
Hagrid gave me a bear hug and then left the pub.
I stood there for a wile, just looking at the door from witch the giant man left from.
Me:'*sigh* First of September. I never thought the day would come where I would look foward to school.'
I finish my own food and head for my room for a good night of sleep.
Me:'But first! Kido training with Zangetsu.'
