Autumn
It's the last day of school and I can't help but to be bummed. I always enjoyed going to school, it was something that kept me from being in an empty house all day, and I had time to see my friends. This was an odd way to start off the morning, especially considering that my parents were both here to eat breakfast with me, a rare occurrence. Heading to my room, I begin to get ready for the day, applying a light coat of mascara and blush, simple stuff. Opening the doors of my closet, I pull out a pastel blue dress that pairs quite nicely with my gray eyes, I hadn't worn the thing in forever to be honest. Hoisting my ever-so-black backpack over my shoulder, double checking that I had everything I needed within it, I make my way out the front door to my closest friend, Stacy's, car which is parked by the curb. Once we arrive to the school, my feet carry me over to my locker, and Jake just so happens to pass by, offering a wink in my direction, causing me to roll my eyes in response, flipping him the bird. Jake Brooke, quarterback for the football team, chick magnet, he's as cliche as they come, and despite his efforts, I have yet to swoon for the guy. If anything, he's the kind of guy to forget an anniversary and try and buy a girl flowers days after to make up for it. Soon enough, Toby Kilhorn passes by, a blonde haired, blue eyed beauty. I fight back a smile as he walks past me, still unable to rid of the crush I've had on the male since third grade. Silly, I know. But it's not like I can help it, especially with how much he's been there for me when it comes to my dancing, always being there to cheer me on when I want to give up.
Speaking of dancing, class begins in five minutes, so I rush to the dance room in an effort to arrive on time, Bianca Lain already waiting there to roll her eyes at me once again. She's Jake's girlfriend, always hanging off his arm as though he's some sort of playground. I swear she's had it out for me forever, in the mindset that I'm here to take her "precious Jake away", if only she knew how much I hate the guy. Jake seems like he wants nothing to do with her, since she is so clingy and wants a "good reputation". Hanging my backpack onto the back of my chair, I take a seat as the dance teacher, Mrs. Omega, begins speaking of plans for the school show. Apparently we're going to be doing the dance that we learned the previous week at today's assembly. She actually even gives me the lead, something I can't help but to crack a smile about, this is amazing! But, Bianca on the other hand doesn't look too pleased about this news. After sitting through the rest of the class, going over the movements a couple of times to make sure we had it down, the bell rings and we're all dismissed. Everyone begins to make their way out of the classroom, but Mrs. Omega calls for me to stay behind, causing Bianca to glance at me with distaste as she made her way out. Omega tells me that the reason she gave me the lead in the first place was because I'm the best dancer she's seen in ages. This only causes the smile from before to return as I give her my thanks and she hands me a late slip, ushering me to get to my next class, math.
