"How may I help you today, young lady?" says the vendor selling trinkets and little jewellery boxes. He has a raspy voice.
"Just looking," Atelier says with a small smile. Her fingers brush on a box adorned with rhinestones and her smile widens. She picks it up to take a closer look.
"Ah, you have good taste! That came all the way from Caror-qa."
Her ears prick at the mention of Kreiss' homeland. "Caror-qa, you say?"
"Yes, crafted by only the best. Those are noble gems – Litrea and Lazuli. They are found only in the caves of Caror-qa, as you know. Very rare. Very beautiful."
It would make a great gift for Kreiss, but she places the box back onto the table. "I'll have to pass. I don't have any money."
The man grins, his lips pulling apart to reveal his teeth. There is a strange glint in his dead-looking eyes. "Not a problem. I will gladly give it to you, in exchange for your necklace."
