"I have arrived at the place you said." Jungkyu glanced at his car which was parked about five meters from where he was standing. "I've got the money. It's in the trunk."
He still kept the phone to his ear. He nodded his head once with a serious expression.
After a while, he frowned. "A shack?" He turned his body, looking around, before his eyes fell on an old shack behind. "I saw it. But why not just do it here? I'm in a hurry now."
He fell silent again. Not long after, his crooked smile was etched along with a small laugh. "Come on ... it's just a small thing. No one will ever know where we are. We've been doing this a lot, haven't we?" Jungkyu walked towards his car. "But, fine. If you're really afraid of getting caught, I'll do as you say. Wait for me there and make sure you bring the things I ordered."
After saying that, Jungkyu hung up the phone, then put it in his pocket. He turned to open the trunk and took out a black suitcase from there. Carrying the suitcase, he walked over to the shack he had seen earlier. Exploring the large yard where all of its parts are covered with thick snow.
It didn't take long for him to reach the door of the shack. He glanced around. After confirming that no one was around, he pushed open the door in front of him slowly, then entered without hesitation. He closed the door behind him before going deeper.
A few minutes later, among the snowflakes that were falling more and more heavily, someone appeared from behind the tree where he had been hiding all this time. With a black hoodie covering his head, he approached the shack slowly.
His hand reached out to open the door. But before he could create a gap wide enough for him to enter, the door was kicked from the opposite direction. Made that person fell really hard. Luckily, a pile of snow saved him from the impact.
He held his face and groaned. He could feel something rancid flowing from his nose. Maybe his nose is broken, but he didn't have time to confirm. Realizing that he had been caught red-handed, he staggered to his feet, trying to get as far away from there as possible before his life was at stake.
But of course, Jungkyu won't let him just run away. He tugged on the man's hoodie tightly. Pushed him against the wall, then grabbed him by the neck. Not really stifling, because he still needed to get information from this guy. If he was killed immediately, of course Jungkyu would not get any information.
With one hand pointing a gun at the temple of the person in front of him, Jungkyu said coldly, "You think you can get away easily?"
Jungkyu's gaze was fixed on the presence in front of him. The guy he was staring at trembled. His eyes flashed with extreme fear. He made strange gestures and made incoherent sounds. A second later, tears welled up in his eyes.
Jungkyu frowned in disbelief. What's going on with this guy? Was he crying because Jungkyu hit his face with the door before? Is that really painful?
Actually, Jungkyu didn't even intend to kick that hard. But it looks like he did expend too much energy earlier because the door was broken. Maybe after this, he should apologize for that.
Jungkook snorted. "Speak clearly."
He took down the bloodstained mask the man was wearing. But after that, his sharp gaze disappeared, replaced with a confused face mixed with shock. "You ...."
Petrified, Jungkyu stopped his words, unable to continue. His words were stuck in his throat because of the pity that slowly enveloped him when he saw the guy's condition. He doesn't have any idea who is the vile person that made the guy suffer like this.
Undeterred, he put the guy's mask back on. "Go." Jungkyu released his grip. Making the opponent immediately slumped with gasping breath. "Go as far as possible. Don't let the person who sent you, whoever it is, find and catch you."
The stranger nodded. He forced his weak knees to stand up.
Meanwhile, Jungkyu was putting his gun back into the holster hanging by his side. He felt his business was done. He will try to get information in other ways. So he decided to go home and discuss this incident with the others later.
Jungkyu was about to walk away. But suddenly, a gunshot was heard along with a bullet that shot fast right beside his face and made him shivering.
Jungkyu froze because of it.
The voice caught clearly in his ears. And when his gaze was fixed on the object in front of him, he was unable to speak. That person—whom he had just ordered to run away—was now lying with his eyes wide open and a hollow forehead. Jungkyu had thought he had seen the wrong thing, but the rancid smell of blood that had splashed on his face made him realize that everything was real.
He swallowed hard.
What just happened was not his doing. Realizing that he was not alone there, Jungkyu increased his vigilance. He pulled out his gun again with a very slow motion. He deliberately minimized the movement to sharpen his hearing.
A few seconds later, the sound of approaching footsteps was heard. It was vague at first, but became clearer as time went on.
When the sound stopped, Jungkyu turned around to find a gun pointed right at his forehead. There was no surprise on his face at all. He didn't even raise his hands behind his head, or do anything else so that he is given a chance to live. Instead of fear or trepidation, he looked at the perpetrator without expression.
The perpetrator held the phone to her ear. Her gaze did not leave Jungkyu at all. "Oppa, come to the location I sent you earlier. There's a corpse you need to clean up here."
She immediately hung up the phone. She kept her phone in her pocket, then took off the hat she was wearing. Her face was clearly visible in the moonlight.
It's Hyunji.
"So, Jungkyu Yoon," Hyunji stared intently with a flat expression, "Who are you actually?"
Jungkyu didn't answer right away. He took a short breath. His gaze was no less cold than the surrounding air. He raised one hand, also pointed a gun at the girl in front of him. "I think we have the same question."
