What the what? a familiar? this birdy is mine now? does this make me her mum?... no, that last one was definitely uncalled for, I can't be a mother yet, I'm too young, too pretty, and far too disinterested in male birds! this Birdy is only into Chicks okay? haha... that was a bad pun... but the jokes really do help to process all the weird stuff in my life. seriously, can you imagine anyone without a sense of humour lasting five minutes in such a strange situation? I can't.
But back to Myr, I was not by any means unhappy with how this turned out, firstly, from our interactions so far she was nothing but nice to me, second, she literally asked for this, and last... I would be a lot less lonely with someone to share this life with. Myr was going to be good for me, I could feel it... and her, still that little warmth in my chest, but now with a little string like window connecting us and allowing us to share thoughts and feelings if we tried. or if we felt something strongly, like the surge of happiness and possessiveness that accidently slipped down the bond from me to her. whoops, didn't mean to let that slip, but she's mine now okay?
Then I suppose its time to check out the other gains from our trip into the 'spot of weather' yesterday, I'm certain that during the course of events the system must have sent me a dozen notifications, and since I didn't stop to read them, they probably have something important slipped in.

...Familiars, are usually gained by certain magic based classes at the Apprentice level. They are Life bound companions, growing with the owner, and help in myriad ways. All familiars grant their master access to their affinities, but each creatures is also assigned a classification based on their nature and the nature of the bond that was formed. In general creatures with a magic affinity give their master increased mana regeneration or other skill related to magic. Creatures with aura affinity grant skills or traits focused around body improvement and fortification.|
...Note that Familiars must be summoned to gain exp and provide their benefits.|
"but I'm not a magic class, I don't even have a class... wait, have I missed an entire class system or something?"
...The Class System is locked. System settings dictate that [Beast] species Users must fulfill two criteria for unlock; they must be considered a member of a Civilization, and they are required to have achieved their first evolution.|
Note to self, I can ignore that for a while. wait though, the flock has a ton of evolved petrels, probably second evolution too, have we unlocked the class system? Tribes are considered an early form of civilization so maybe we have? I should definitely find a way to communicate with the other birds, with the system around they should be smarter than me even!

"How do I learns spells? I don't have a class or anything, and I seem to have made some somehow?"
...Spells can be learned or discovered from external sources or they can be personally created. this is because spell itself is a special construct that converts pure Law power into a chosen form or to achieve a chosen function. A construct is established using mental visualization to craft the form, and mana or aura to empower it and turn it from thought into something that can interact with the siphoned Law power, it must be noted that if the traits of the construct do not align with the traits of a law they will clash, leading to severe backlash. spells can benefit from the use of suitable materials to act as a medium or focus of a construct to simplify any or all aspects of this process. "oh, I guess that makes sense. it gives me an edge against other magic users too now doesn't it... So if I take that info and apply it to Myr, then I guess the summoning and binding spells use the soul Law or something like that?"
"and If I want to summon her I'll have to come up with some sort of mental image and try and put mana in it. makes sense so far, but I might have to think about what to imagine, I can maybe start with how I can feel her and go from there?"
her little birdy eyes half squinted as she frowned in concentration, and it wasn't until a good 40 minutes later that she had finally come up with an idea she thought would work.
"So, I'll meditate, focus on her spark and then, imagine her coming out of me I guess? the hard part will be somehow putting mana into an idea... this is so weird..."
weird or not, she spent the rest of the day trying, and failing to 'make the magic happen'. but she could feel she was getting closer, and this could entirely be attributed to her meditation. it allowed her to get a better idea what she was doing wrong each time, and served as the best way to stabilize her mental construction of images. maybe it would take a few more days, but she was certain she was going to succeed! …But it was still slightly frustrating how hard the whole process was. urgh.
"Hey System didn't you say you downloaded information into peoples to help them learn skills and spells sometimes?"
