(Hiraeth describes a deep, inborn sense of yearning for a home, a feeling, a place or person that is beyond this plane of existence. It also hits in when people feel nostalgic and walk down the memory lane of their past life.)
--------------------
A human-like figure brought you out of your white like trance. Those were assumptions after all. You weren't dead yet. It actually made sense, you weren't dead, because your father didn't do anything yet. You were confused for about 15 seconds but then you recognised the female silhouette. It was no one but your best friend, Perrie.
Yess! You took a closer, better look, it indeed was her. Even in your current state, you couldn't help but notice her bandage clad arm and burns on her skin. She looked pale too but definitely better than you. You managed to now move your fingers rather vaguely and hinted her to come closer, and so she did. You tried to speak but all that left your mouth was a weak, tired moan. You gave up at the thought of trying to speak already. A tear left your eye. It slowly reached the tip of your nose. Perrie knew how irritating you felt once that happened, let alone the crying part, she immediately came even closer to you and wiped it off with her thumb and pecked your cheek. You both exchanged smiles with each other.
Your sister indeed.
After the long emo session, you were sure of one thing-you weren't dead.
Death wasn't something you were afraid of. It was just that you didn't want to die NOW, THIS way. Everything you did on your own by now would have gone in vain. Before dying, you had to prove it to someone significant much that you are worthy and deserving, actually, much more than them. Those people who treated you like a nobody emotionally but gave you everything financially.
It was all materialistic.
Nothing ever genuine or real, for you, to you, EVER!
You came back to the real world and looked around, the room you were in, the hospital room. You heard the monitor beeps, noticed the IV needle attached on the back of your hand with fluids getting inside your body, that tingling sensation, you felt it, your bloodstream would get cleansed of all the smoke residue, at least you weren't numb.
Perrie: Y/n, I'll get Dr Damien. Will you be okay by yourself for 5 minutes?
She asked you with a smiling face, in a low tone, half hovering on you with her hand on your shoulder for reassurance. You nodded and smiled back.
With that, she left, closing the door behind her.
You were alone now, although you felt that hawk's presence near you somewhere but didn't bother about it right now. You were too tired.
The television caught your interest, you turned on the news channel somehow and right there, it was-
BREAKING NEWS- HIGHLAND UNIVERSITY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES' PROFESSOR LOKI ELLISTER TURNER OF THE MASS COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT ALLEGEDLY SHOT WITHIN CAMPUS GROUNDS, ANNOUNCED DEAD!
Woah- So that gunshot you heard was- Someone really murdered Professor Loki in the university! Oh....Okay!
You were so dumbfounded right now. You couldn't process anything for a minute.
Then you tried to find out which date's broadcast it was or was it live?
You got to know this was a 2 days old news and the thing you were watching right now was a highlight of the same.
This was terrifying.
You closed your eyes and swam back into the ocean of your memory.
You recalled the table of events that occurred 2 days ago at the University. No such thing had ever happened there. It was a really safe and secure campus which was one of the main reasons your father allowed you to attend classes there 2 years ago.
You remembered that 2 days ago was Taehyun's first day there and that was when it all happened. All the girls were swooning over the man with an apparent tattoo on his right arm, that absolutely disgusted you. Such girls made you puke and quick. 90% of the girls in the university were like this, one of the several reasons your friend circle was restricted and actually non-existent.
That led you to the next room in your cerebrum, Pez and Cheeni's good, and Dad and his men's bad memories.....too much sh!t indeed!
Perrie and you were friends who met around grade 5, you both had a lot in common and became close as sisters real quick! Ever since then, you protected her and she protected you. One's weakness was apparently the other's strength. You were really thankful to Perrie for coming into your life. She was literally your soulmate. You too would often sneak yourself out of your house and hang out for some hours and have fun. From partying to the tiniest ''jinx'' moments, everything was so precious.
She was the only one whom you shared your family background with. She never got scared and always had your back. All those nights, when you had a bad exchange with your father, she would come over through the back door and comfort you. At times, you would walk away from your father's mansion and Perrie would take care of you that time. Her mother too used to live with just Perrie and was a beautiful soul who would treat you very well.
Both of you understood each other really well considering your similar circumstances as your father was nearly non-existent and hers was away due to work. You played with Dan and Omi, her younger brothers. They're angels as precious as chocolate brownies but they tease and trouble Perrie a lot....they were too adorable for you to give a scolding so you passed and played along, making Perrie fume.
This could actually be introduced as your family.....a family, a home, love and care.....but your fate was something else....you didn't deserve it.
You basically only had Perrie until you met Cheeni. She came into your friends list once you 3 entered college, that means, 3 years ago, you'd met her. She was a really calm, sweet soul but could get into savage mode real quick if someone messed with her....especially if someone said anything against her kpop idols- She was totally whipped for some of those whom you didn't even know existed. Yeah, you kinda lived under a rock.
You don't really know what you would do without these 2- Actually...you do know, you would just die-
Your life had lit up as they entered in. You were really thankful to them.
Although, after all these years, something you'd confirmed was that bad things happen to good people and vice versa.
You sunk your head in the over fluffy pillow and went back to cherishing some moments and giving yourself a walkthrough of what all had happened all these years. The pillow was soaked in your tears now though.....you didn't bother.
-----------------------
After a while, Dr Damien came in with Perrie and examined you a bit explaining about your condition following that.
You were a lucky one according to him, you had just been successful in avoiding a lung infection. You could be discharged by tomorrow.
-----------------------
(Your POV)
The doctor gets out of the room and you looked at Perrie to talk to her for a while. You talked about her condition and other stuff but she was quite reluctant. Then....
Y/n: ''Who paid though?''
Perrie widened her eyes
Perrie: ''Huh? For wh-what?''
Y/n:'' You haven't sold me yet, soo...the room...who paid for the medic expense and my stay?''
Perrie:''Haha meeeee...who else?''
Y/n: *chuckles* ''Such a bad job at lying babe, you get an F and yeah, spill now, who paid?''
Perrie:'' You don't believe me?''
Y/n:'' Receptionist here I come'' *you attempted to move in order to trick her*
''YOUR DAD!'', she blurted out in a loud voice, holding your arm.
You froze. That thought DID cross your mind but you didn't want to believe it.
''My da- dad-'', you mumbled.
Thats it. Something was bound to happen now that he was back.
You're totally conscious, doomed, no longer safe.
He clearly wants something, because that's why HE came.
NO WAY OUT
ITS YOUR DAD. HE'S BACK!
