Chapter 5 - Chapter Four

Livian's POV

Dairon entered the courtyard with the girl from the previous day trailing behind him. It was still wondering why they had brought her here. Her reluctance and confusion were evident in her expression, and it was clear that she had not willingly chosen to be in this strange place, so she calls it .

She followed Dairon, listening to his explanations. Perhaps he was providing her with the tour suggested by Lord Kin. Dairon glanced my way for a moment, acknowledging the girl's presence. "This is the courtyard," he explained with a friendly smile, to which she nodded.

"I'm sorry for bringing you here. I know you must be very angry with me," Dairon offered, gauging her reaction. She responded by rolling her eyes, an expression of clear annoyance, and then shifted her gaze towards where I stood.

"Only that doesn't prove anything," I stated with a blank expression, my hands tucked behind my back. Dairon rolled his eyes for a moment, and then he looked at the girl before returning his attention to me.

"You're the guy from yesterday," she finally acknowledged, showing no comment about the conversation she had overheard. "I didn't get your name," she added.

I hesitated for a moment, reluctant to engage in conversation with her. "His name is Livian, and he is not that important," Dairon interjected, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder.

"Really?" she questioned with a frown. "Forget about what I said; let's not waste our time here," Dairon suggested, leading her away. As they walked off, I shook my head in disbelief. The entire situation seemed blown out of proportion, and it appeared to have originated from my disagreement.

I couldn't comprehend the reasoning behind bringing a girl with little knowledge of Valmore into this realm. Even if one of the reasons had been verified, it still made little sense. What if she couldn't withstand the forces present in Valmore?

She would likely not have survived, and the consequences of that hadn't been considered. None of them seemed to have thought about the risks of bringing someone with no identity in Valmore.

I made a mental note to inquire about this during the lunch meeting. It was a risky decision, as she could potentially be a threat. I left the courtyard to attend to my duties and also planned to visit the library later.

I received a message from Mrs. Helt regarding my absence in classes. Dairon,Aranya and the other students seemed to be the only ones present, and I anticipated that Aranya would eventually join them as she familiarized herself with the palace and its surroundings.

There was little reason for me to attend classes as I usually read ahead and had a good grasp of the material. Mrs. Helt, however, continued to insist on my presence, despite knowing my likely response.
