We were taken to the 14th floor, it was a dimly lit hall with three rooms, three training rooms. I noticed another two smaller rooms to the side; I can assume they're locker rooms. Mrs. Sun turned to us, "These are our top of the line training rooms, we can simulate any crime scene and manipulate any weather condition." I look it over it is indeed well designed, I look at my outfit, I was dressed in the same jeans as earlier, I put on my longish pink sweater from Thursday, matching pink heels, and a light covering of makeup. I look nice enough for a tour, but to fight; I need to change.
Mrs. Sun seemed to notice as well, "I have some outfits for you to wear during your session." We nod and take the small plies she had on a table. They were simple gym clothes you would see a sixth-grader or freshman wear, they had the school logo along with the shirt and shorts, I was at least smart enough to bring shoes and socks for the occasion in case I needed to change my shoes for a part of the tour. Vee frowns at the shirt, "What a gross color combination, brown and green, it's not even a cute green or brown." I pull my hair into a ponytail as Yukii pulled it back enough to keep it from her face. Vee had her hair braided before coming so she was fine. I put my belongings in the locker and shut it as the lock scanned my thumb.
I walk out as six new faces wearing something similar stood before us. Heath glares over to them as I continue to watch, "Oh, good you're all here." Dr. Kellie looked unamused, "Mrs. Sun I think you still set their levels too low, Lilia just handled a steroid-induced class 7 on her own. Without formal training, I think something higher like 42 or 50 would fit them." Mrs. Sun smiled, "The highest my six can go is to level 15, I've just gotten all of them there."
Dr. Kellie wasn't happy, "Alright, I'm paring you off, Miss Smith; you'll be fighting with Annabelle here." Mrs. Sun said pushing the dyed pink-haired girl over to her. "Mr. Nixon, you'll be with my friend Jason." The boy was a sharp-looking teen with straight blond hair and glasses. Yukii looked ill noticing how all the girls wore so much pink, even I don't wear this much and pink is the color of my powers. "Miss Yamada you'll working with Kathrin." The girl had freshly dyed blond hair and colored blue contacts in, she popped her gum and acted sweet like.
Mrs. Sun continued, "Mr. Simmons you'll be working with Russel." The meek boy crouched in Tucker's shadow. "Instructor, I would like a different partner." The boy, named Russel asked as Tucker smirked at him, "Come on man, it'll be fun you, me, and whatever this bad boy can do." Tucker said smacking the glass, I roll my eyes as Yukii glares at him, "Shut it, you're scarier than you look." Yukii said as Mrs. Sun continued, "Mr. Douglas, you can work with my son Elisha." The tall dark-skinned boy smiled a country boy smile, one could say they shared the same energy. Mrs. Sun stopped at me, "Miss Riverside, you can work with Hailey." The girl was on her phone but what I did notice was; her hair was naturally a blackish-purple and she cared all too much about the money, she did have green contacts in, I guess it's common here for girls to do that.
I nodded as; Mrs. Sun walked over to Dr. Kellie. "Student's this is Doctor Grace Kellie, she is a retired scientist, who used to work in our B.A.S.I.C.'s department with Dr. Riverside." Dr. Kellie paid them no heed, "Let's get this over with, I want them to enjoy their last day in the city before returning to the compound." Dr. Kellie clamped her hands over her mouth. "You are working in a compound?" Mrs. Sun asked as I realize Dr. Kellie lied about the Hero League sending her to watch us, "I'm feeling fatigued, can someone else do my training, I'm sure she can't even keep up with me in the first place." Hailey said as she's starting to get on my nerves.
Mrs. Sun stopped pressing, "No, you'll do this, or we'll kick you out of class one and put you in class three." The girl's head shot up, "But, you can't do that!" she whined as Mrs. Sun smiled wickedly, "Oh I can; your performance has been sloppy lately, in fact, all of your performances have been as well." She looked at her son with fire in her eyes. I watch as everyone waited as Dr. Kellie began to help set up the simulator. "Boys you'll go first since this is your second time." Dr. Kellie said as she worked her magic at the control panel, Mrs. Sun watched as the level was on 16.
Mrs. Sun cleared her throat, "I think level 15 is the easiest." Dr. Kellie glanced up, "With two of them fighting together, I'm sure they'll be fine." Mrs. Sun nodded looking worried, Heath walks to the first door as it opened, Elisha steps in Heath turns to me and plants a kiss on the lips. "People are watching," I stated curtly, "I don't care." He kissed me again, "Heath hurry up." Dr. Kellie said as she grew annoyed, "Hurry, I want to leave as soon as possible," I whisper into his ear. Heath gave a nod as I watch his window, the room changed into a burning city with a class 3 villain on a rampage.
Yukii had gotten excited, "A kaiju!" The boys had similar villains, but different states of the city; one was on fire, one was rainy or stormy, and the last one however had snow. Tucker was bouncing around his room as he throws a snowball at the window, "Look, it's your name!" Yukii was going to kill him. Dr. Kellie leaned into a microphone, "Okay boys, play nice." She smiled as the three students go to, the class 3 villain first, I turned to Heath to watch how he would play out his move. He watched as Elisha started to move the light to his liking like his mother when Heath finally made his move.
Heath didn't even fly as he walked over to where the teen was trying to destroy the monster. Heath opened his hand as he burned the monster and the walls went white, Yukii made a noise behind me, "Wait a minute! Tucker barely did anything!" Vee was nodding too, "Doesn't that seem odd?" I turn to the girls, "It seems that Mrs. Sun is making Dr. Kellie keep it on level 15, but I heard Dr. Kellie mentioning putting it on 16." The doors opened as Tucker whined, "Man that could have been fun if it wasn't using its own weakness." Ryan ignored him and walks to the little room, "I remember you put us through the same level when we were here as kids." Heath walks over, "Yes, that's right why would you make us do such a simple childish level."
I noticed that everyone behind us was upset as well, "We only step it to a simple level because we thought you needed a warm-up." Russel said with a quiver of nervousness in his voice as he lied. Jason was quiet, as Elisha looked worried, "Yeah, mom turn it up to 50 and we'll all do one villain." The woman was quiet as her son lied foolheartedly, "Alright if you kids want to do that then let's go." I stopped her, "Let, your top students go first, that way we can analyze their teamwork skills, and techniques for self-defense." Mrs. Sun wasn't happy; she knew I was going to point out their faults. "Ms. Riverside, are you sure? I think the boys working together and the girls working together will be best." I smile a closed eye smile, "I think you're wrong, teams of different genders happen in the real world don't act like it doesn't." I walk past her and sit next to Dr. Kellie, I notice the dial as still on 16, "Better turn that down some for them."
My smile said it all; I was going to be petty. They wanted a fight then let me set the numbering lower for you since you can't handle the real fights. The group walked in as I set the dial to 14, they should be able to handle that, Mrs. Sun stood behind me and Dr. Kellie as she started the machine. I watch as a smaller monster starts to visualize, and the city was being lasered down. The group moved for about forty minutes and finally had the monster defeated, but in that time frame for a monster whose weakness was its own laser to the eye it took them too long the city would have been destroyed and many people would have perished by the time it was under control.
I stand up as the doors open the group who smiled at their defeat. I turn the dial to 60 and walk over to my group ignoring Mrs. Sun who stated that even the best heroes struggle at 60. I walk in and turn to my friends, "I turned the dial up to 60, I believe we can handle it if you don't then turn it down." The group looked at the door as it faded, as a burned city stood in its wake. I turn my glace to the center of the room. There stood something I never expected, "Well, well, well; who are you six?" There before me was a middle-aged man dressed like a doctor or scientist, with salt and pepper hair, next to him was a young woman with pure white hair and blazing gold eyes she wore a skin-tight jumpsuit and matching boots. The color was black, "Hello, children I am Professor Robotic, and this is Madam Arachnid."
She smiled at us; this is not like any fight a hero would get into. "Do you children like our handy work?" she smiled pointing to the city, I turn back giving them a glare, "Oh, I see you're on the side of the fights for the laws, Madam you may do the honors." Webs flight towards us, as we all leap away. We run away from them, "Quick we need a plan boss lady!" Tucker yelled as I run through ideas, "I'm working on it, for now, Ryan, Yukii, and Tucker hold them off while I plan out, Heath you are backup, Vee tend to those who are hurt this might be a simulation but some debris from hitting the people of the city, I'm going to watch them and try to find they're weak point."
The group nodded as I hit the sky fast and hard. I watch them as Tucker and Yukii make their favorite combo from training the Electric Tornado. They use Tucker's wind and speed to create the tornado and Yukii all she has to do is follow the wind speed. Then you have a powerful and dangerous wind-tight cell. Ryan at any time can drop large lead balls on them and Heath can set it on fire. Vee's powers are for those who make a 100/200 threat level not simulation level, it's more of a catching power to turn them into the police, but some are so evil that returning them to civilization would be far too much hope for them to return to this life.
I notice it, Madam Arachnid had a simple weakness, she is a spider at heart. I fly over to the group Vee is still protecting the people but she comes closer to hear me out. "They need to be separated, Yukii you can form a team to help you defeat Professor Robotic, I'll take the other two and defeat the spider." Yukii nods, "Ryan, and I'll take Tucker, we're short critic him and crush his devices, he'll be a safe human by then." I nod as they left, I look at Heath and Vee, "She is a spider, so we need to make her feel like the threat is gone I'll use flowers and other greenery to make a safe webspace. Vee, I need you to create a forcefield around the safe zone once she's in it, it needs to be at least five miles long to keep it from showing too much. Then Heath I need you to set her ablaze, and don't worry about being charged with her death."
I pick up the wanted poster, 'Murderer wanted: Madam Arachnid, dead or alive.' Heath reads it over, "Alright, let's do this." We all broke away and lured our villain away from each other I made a soft green area near a trashed alleyway that 'bugs' would gather which made it a safe place for her trap for us. I watch for her until she disappears from sight, "Fu-fu-fu- did you think I would fall for that little trick?" I jump and see Madam Arachnid above me, "Don't make me out to be a fool; children, if you want to play with a foolish enemy, return to school where they have them pre-made for you. I dodge her fist as Vee dives down and engulfs her in one of her bubbles, Heath comes in with a mighty scream, "DIED!" the bubble was lit on fire. I let my vines creep inside the bubble and allows Heath to ignite them as well, as I wrap them as she dies close to the same way her victims do.
Her screams were hardly muffled with the vines, fire, and bubble. I turn as I cry; Vee's sobs were covering most of her ear blistering screams, "She was a heartless villainess who was using humans as her blood bags except for her creator. Don't pity this woman, the country wanted her dead away." Heath's words were heavy and crushing knowing it was true, dying by us was a much nicer way compared to what the government or the Hero League would have done to her. "We need to go help the others," I stated as we continued to cry for the one who should have never died, but she was more corrupt than her own state of mind was that of a spider.
I slowly walk over towards Yukii's group who had a similar picture like us, only he was in a puddle with his torn robot is being held down with a large metal cannon, the green electrical current ran over his body like a deadly covering. "Yukii," I look her in the eyes, as she glanced down at the dead man, "It's only a simulation." She said as she walked towards me, as the city and neighborhood faded as we were welcomed with white walls. Mrs. Sun opened the door, "You guys are quite powerful," I stopped her, "Dr. Kellie are we finished?" she looked at the screen, "150 points each you six are over the amount of normal class 10 hero." My eyes faded, "Mrs. Sun your group overall score was 33, my group has a score of 900." The teens looked white even Elisha Mrs. Sun's son.
Russel had a shaky voice, "That can't be, even the most powerful group is only at 190 points. Which they are only 10 points off from the highest scale number." I think Heath mentioned something like that to me a few months ago, 'The strongest hero ever had a score of 200, which is how they scale heroes now.' I feel worn, I guess I really wasn't ready for this. "Oh, what is this?" a large man walks in as his large bell wobbles as he walks, "Who are these lovely specimens?"
I feel my insides shiver, "Mr. Stone-head, I thought you had a meeting." Mrs. Sun looked over to us worried, as the man walks past her to Dr. Kellie, "Hmm…did these teens fight my super six?" he looked over at the board, "Wait who fought at level 60?" Dr. Kellie pointed to us, "These are Dr. Flint Riverside and mines creation, from about 10 years ago." The man was in shock, "You are the greatest creation, that everyone has spoken about, please let these useless teens show you around our schooling facility outside three blocks down. Dr. Kellie, you can come as well."
The man smiled over at Mrs. Sun, "I think you've finally done something right since you've been put on the council. Now let's go, I'll show you around myself, my sister runs the school." I step away from him as he smiles at Yukii, Vee, and I like a dog. "Let them change before you take them to school." Mrs. Sun said with a quiet smile before walking us into the locker.
