"But you have to be more careful McCartney. At least here. This place, it's . . . . . . " Den started, his face suddenly turning serious, but his voice trailed off.
"I understand. I'll not go anywhere without either you or June." Stella replied with a nod.
"By the way, Darius?" Stella asked with a frown as the two started on their way back to the mansion, keeping in the shade.
Sharp let out a groan and said, "Don't even ask."
Stella was tempted to take a peek into Sharp's mind, he wouldn't even know. But for some inexplicable reason she stayed out of it, constantly keeping a barrier around her mind and pushing him out of it.
Sharp opened her mouth to say something, and Stella was sure he was about to explain Darius, but just then the two of them heard some voices.
Stella turned and felt so guilty upon seeing Allen, June and Simon coming over. All three of them had covered themselves from head to toe, to avoid getting sunburns. Stella immediately began to apologise to all of them as they approached, Simon began to fuss over her and Sharp, checking if her arm was all right and looking over Sharp's burns. June tossed him a scarf, hat and gloves before turning to Stella with her hands on her hips.
"I'm sorry. No running off now." Stella said, putting her hands together and making the best puppy face she could manage.
June glared at her, but Allen walked over and ruffled her hair before saying, "Come on, stop apologising shortcake. What's a day without a death threat or two huh?" June glared at him for a few seconds before shaking her head with a smile and Stella knew it to be the end of it then.
Stella spent the day being dragged around the huge huge castle, which June called home, being shown around and introduced by June to many of her friends.
June's friends had different reactions upon seeing Stella, some were surprised, some disgusted and some confused. But every single one of them noticed how tasty Stella smelled and she saw in their minds how it took all of their self control not to pounce on her.
After a small breakfast, which only Stella took in that place full of vampires, they joined up with the boys.
Stella spent the rest of the day with them inside, though she was itching to explore the garden, playing one thing or another, with June dropping in for a few minutes to see how they were doing, and Allen and Sharp being continuously called by beautiful girls in pretty dresses, which left Stella feeling a weird pit in her stomach.
Stella looked at herself in a mirror across the room as another bunch of pretty girls walked out, pulling Sharp and Allen with themselves.
They all had marble or jade like skin, perfectly carved features, and bodies that could make the goddesses jealous. And they dressed in beautiful dresses of summery colours, with their hair falling down their backs like waterfalls of different colours.
All this Stella knew to be the reason of them being vampires, but still she couldn't help feeling a bit envious, they were all so perfect. Especially the one in the middle, the girl who had taken Sharp's arm and taken him out.
