Chapter 102 - Running off

Allen chuckled as he watched a blur. "No one can replace her ever. Truly she's one of a kind." he spoke climbing out of the car.

"She shouldn't have gone like that. What if she hurts herself. Such a self-destructive person." Simon sighed, gathering up his things and stepping out.

"Is she the one you told madam about, young madam?" the middle-aged man asked, helping June from the car. "Yes she is, uncle Rob. And please call me June. It feels weird to be called 'young madam'." she replied. "And can you please send someone to fetch her uncle Rob? I'm sure she'll be lost very soon." June added, throwing a quick glance in the direction of Den.

Den's first instinct had been to worry about Stella as soon as she had run off, wondering if he should go after her. And after hearing June's words and realizing the hidden worry they held, Den rushed out of the car, tossed the keys to uncle Rob and ran behind Stella before anyone had a chance to react.

What June and Den were worried about was not exactly Stella getting lost. The mansion was huge and she surely would be able to make her way back to one of the many entrances. What they were worried about was the presence of others like them.

Many of June's relatives and friends had already arrived for her birthday and as she was a born vampire, to no one's surprise, they were all vampires. Though it was day time and most of them were inside, avoiding the sun, it wouldn't be surprising for someone to be out, enjoying the peace, covered in layers of cloth to protect themselves.

And Stella's scent was, very tempting, to say the least. Den had to follow it as she was much faster than him, and pray that no one came across it or her, before he caught up to Stella.

Unaware of all this, Stella stopped among what seemed to be some rose bushes. She let out a huge smile and for whatever reason, crawled into them. Stella was enjoying the fruits of her devil mind, soft petals and that awesome smell, along with getting various cuts on her arms and feet, when her ears suddenly perked up.

Stella slowly stood up from among the rose bush and frowned upon seeing the unfamiliar face in front of her. She quickly removed her barrier to read this person's mind before she even registered the face, but the words came to her mind and to her ears almost simultaneously. "Mmhh . . . What are you doing here darling? Is this some kind of treasure hunt?" the person spoke.

Treasure hunt? Stella wondered what this person was talking about as she looked at him for the first time. She could instantly tell that the man in front of her was a vampire, she could tell it without those dark red eyes staring at her hungrily. She could tell it from the handsome features and the aura of superiority.

Stella sighed as she remembered a line which seemed to be from a lifetime ago, "She's special." Of course, this vampire here had been attracted by her smell. Right now, Stella wanted to slap herself. How could she have been this stupid?
