Chapter 95 - Like Helen had come back

Stella's heartbeat had been steadily rising throughout the whole speech. But her heart almost stopped when Sharp said 'Not again.'

It was at that point Stella realized what was going on inside his heart, even if he didn't know it himself. At some level, he saw his Helen in Stella.

It would explain why he liked her so much at first. It would almost have been like Helen had been reborn. But when Stella came to know about Helen, Sharp had suddenly realized that she was not Helen. He still felt guilty about her death, Stella had seen that much in his mind, though she didn't know why. He had pushed her away for the exact reason that she was not Helen. But that incident with Mazata had probably been too close to the way Helen had died, and the shock of it had been so great that finding Stella alive had somehow made Den feel like Helen had come back to him.

While Stella sat there processing all this, Den came out of his thoughts and smiled, taking the empty coffee cup from her and said, "Anyway, to summarize. I'm glad my annoying brat is back."

Stella smiled as Sharp went to the kitchen to do the dishes. Once he was done, he walked into Stella's room to see her sprawled on the bed upside down, staring at the ceiling. Seeing that he was back, she sat up and said, "Sharp, I have a favor to ask."

"Of course." Den replied nonchalantly. Stella was surprised that he had not asked, 'what'. He really seemed to be making an effort. "I need to borrow some clothes." she said.

Sharp tilted her head and a small frown appeared on his face, "Clothes?" Stella rolled her eyes and spread out her free hand. The shirt she was wearing was Simon's and it was so large that the sleeves hung more than a few inches below her hands and it came upto a few inches above her knees, and the shorts she was supposed to be wearing were more like capri pants.

Sharp chuckled seeing the over-sized clothes. She almost looked like a doll who someone had dressed up in their own clothes. Seeing him laughing, Stella pouted and said, "What's so damn funny?"

Den shook his head and said, "Nothing. Those are Simon's right? Well, if Simon's clothes are so large for you, just imagine how big mine will be." Stella tilted her head as realization dawned on her face. Sharp was a few good inches taller than Simon, and though was quite lean, he was definitely more muscled than Simon, who was so lanky he seemed malnourished. "And anyway I have no extra clothes. Not anymore than you do." he added.

"But I still needs clothes." Stella whined, "And I can't go shopping in these. And I can't even borrow clothes from June!!" Den held his forehead and let out a sigh, "Girls." he muttered before looking up. "Okay I'll tell you what." he said, "I'll go out now and buy you a pair of something. I need to go out for some groceries anyway."

Stella nodded and turned towards the bathroom.

By the time Sharp returned, Stella had washed herself, the best she could manage with one hand.
