"Very good. And how are you, did you sleep well?" she asked, closing the book and giving Den a smile that lit up his day.
"I have been sleeping very good these past few days." Den spoke, making the woman blush, who smelled the roses to hide her red cheeks. Den laughed as he said, "You don't have to be so shy about it. Your presence helps me relax, is all." She stood up and went to put the roses in a vase as she spoke, "I understand that. But it would just be very scandalous if someone found out that you sleep in my bedroom every night."
Den chuckled as he moved with his full speed and reached over to the woman in a flash. His smile faltered as he saw her flinch and he spoke, "I'm sorry. I keep forgetting." "But it does sound scandalous when you say it like that." he continued, taking a lock of the woman's hair in his hand, making her blush even more.
"But can't we tell at least some people? Maybe just my parents and my sister? Penelope could protect their minds too." The woman spoke, turning to look at Den with pleading eyes. Den looked at those amber eyes and his heart melted. He was about to almost give in when an image flashed in his mind. The same face he was looking at with so much love, just with bright red eyes.
Den shook his head and let out an apologetic smile. He took hold of the woman's hand and led her to the balcony, where he made her sit on a chair and knelt down beside her. "Helen. . . . ." he said, still holding onto her hand "I know. I want to announce our love to everyone too. How I wish that I could place a ring on that beautiful finger of yours. How much I want to take you in my arms when you are out with Penelope. But. . . . ."
"I understand, my love." Helen said, squeezing his hand and giving him one of her loveliest smiles which made Den forget everything in the world. "We can wait as long as you want. We've still got a lot of time." she finished her sentence and Den planted a quick kiss on her hand before saying, "All the time in the world." and climbing on the railing.
He waved goodbye to a very surprised Helen and jumped down. By the time Helen understood what had happened, Den was already out of sight. She let out a sigh and slumped on the chair. "I just don't want our meetings to always be stolen moments." she muttered to herself. Down in the garden below, Den heard her sentence hidden a bush and whispered to himself, "They won't have to be, my love. I'll take care of everything."
Den opened his eyes with a start as he heard some sounds from the next room, Stella's bedroom. He listened and sighed after a few seconds. "I should go after her, it's not safe for her to be alone. But, I just don't want us to get in a fight again." he mumbled to himself before dialing a number on the phone.
"McCartney just ran off to somewhere. Keep an eye out." he said before tossing the phone aside and going into the bathroom.
