"I'm not going away until you respond." he said again. Stella once again cursed under her breath. Didn't look like he was going away any time soon. She began to blink back the tears that were still falling and said, "What do you want?"
Stella cleared her throat as her voice had come out all raspy and croaky and waited for Sharp's answer.
She heard a loud sigh before Sharp's voice came, "I wanted to apologize."
Stella raised her eyebrows, all her sadness forgotten. She turned around and sat up in a flash and said, "Whatever for?" her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Den seemed a bit taken aback, probably at Stella's swollen red eyes and the dried tears on her face. He composed himself the next second and said, in his usual haughty voice, "No need to get all sarcastic. I'm apologizing. Aren't I?"
Stella rolled her eyes as she lay back down facing away from him, "Apology not accepted. Now scoot." "Damn you McCarteny!! Need I remind you under whose roof you are living?" Den cursed in anger upon Stella's behavior.
Stella still lay facing away from him as she said, "Oh really? Need I remind you who dragged who under this roof? And who wanted to move out from whose roof, but who wouldn't let who?"
Den led out a huge breath and said, "Please McCartney, can we just a simple conversation like normal people?" Stella frowned and sat up facing him in a flash.
She shouted, her voice getting louder with each word, "Simple conversation?!?! Normal people?!?! Which one of us is normal Sharp?!! The one who is a freak with weird superpowers that she isn't supposed to have and no one can figure out why she has them. Or the one who absolutely loathes humans and thinks that their opinion and wants are not worth even being listened too?!?!?!?! Tell me Sharp, how can such people ever have a simple conversation? When was the last time we talked without it ending up in me sustaining new injuries!?!?!?!? How much do you want to hurt me this time that you initiated this conversation yourself????" She was panting by the time she finished.
Den stood transfixed for a few seconds trying to comprehend Stella's words. He had believed up till now that Stella wasn't one to get bothered, or bottle things up inside. But now he realized how wrong he had been. Stella had been insanely hurt by how he treated her, which for some unexplainable reason she had endured. She had acted like it was all fine and bottled everything up inside, and it all had come bursting out right now.
Seeing Sharp standing like that, Stella realized what she had done. She shook her head with a sigh and said, "I'm sorry. You can go back to ignoring me now. I won't try to sneak out. You have my promise." Saying this, she was about to lie back down. She had expected Sharp to either explode in anger or start to ignore her like the previous times, but what he said next shocked her to her core.
"I'm so sorry McCartney." Den spoke in a small voice, his voice cracking.
