For the next two days, Stella's head was in constant pain as she tried to block out other people's minds.
It was especially so when she was around Den as she tried harder than with anyone else to block out his mind.
Stella sighed in content as she drove through the city on her bike.
She did not have her helmet on and loved the feeling of the wind in her hair and on her face. Moreover, she did not have to block people out as their thoughts were only a blur as the city rushed past her.
"I should probably apologize to Sharp. Our relationship shouldn't be on the edge of a knife when we go to June's home." Stella thought to herself.
She really wished that her and Den's relationship would go back to what it used to be before she had gone into his room. She wished she could wipe away her memories of it, she wished she could run away from these memories and vampires itself.
Stella stopped the bike with a screech outside a shop. She shook her head to tune out the voices and tried to focus on one of her own memory, a memory from quite a few months back.
She had then just started to go out of the cottage and still needed help. June had been with her that day and she had pointed out to a locket in this shop, saying that she would probably get this to Sharp on his birthday.
When Stella had asked why, June had replied that he used to have a locket exactly like this one, and he loved it. But it had been broken for quite some time now.
Stella made up her mind as she parked the bike and rushed into the shop, running her fingers through her hair to make sure that she did not look like a cave person.
The shop was a gift shop and the locket Stella wanted to buy was quite cheap when considering it's looks. It looked to be made of pure gold but was actually not.
The shopkeeper showed Stella how the star shaped locket could be opened up to reveal two sides. On one side, there was a small frame to insert a picture. And on the other side, some words were inscribed that Stella could not read.
She pointed it out to the shopkeeper, who read the inscription out aloud. It read, 'hasta que nos volvamos a ver'.
The shopkeeper smiled and looked at Stella. "It's Spanish. It means 'till we meet again'."
Stella nodded as she paid for the locket.
It was a bit cheeky and definitely not a sorry present, but if June had said that Sharp would like it, then he would.
Stella was all smiles as she rode back to the cottage and walked in, fingering the locket in her pocket.
Stella walked in and she knew Sharp was in the living room. Her stomach churned as she checked her own mind to make sure that Stella could block out Sharp's mind for a conversation and bear the pain.
Once she was sure, Stella walked into the living room to see Den sitting with a book in his hands. She stood a few paces from the door, waiting for Den to give any reaction.
But he didn't, even though there could be no doubt that he heard her walk in, let alone the roar of her bike as she came back.
