Chapter 75 - Acceptance & Compatibility (Sep. 3, 2020)

The lady just arrived at their temporary home, a rented house.

Then, at that house, a guy and his sister were there also, renting in a different room. The guy saw the lady sitting in the dining area, and he walked towards her and sat beside her.

They talked and found herself very comfortable to talk to him. The guy was so cheerful, with that smiling face while talking to her. She found him easy to chat with, there's no heavy feeling within her heart unlike her past.

She remembered the past, the man she once loved and broke her heart as well. That man caused her a lot of pain and she had felt heaviness in her heart when she's around him; he's a total opposite of the man that's in front of him now.

The guy stood up for a moment to get something, and as he went back to her, he's already carrying a bowl with him. Then, he gave that bowl filled with food to her.

The lady, then, just accepted the food he gave her. The food was good and she enjoyed it. The guy just watched her while she's enjoying her food, with that bright smile, and she felt relaxed also as she watched his cheerful face.

Time passed by, they have finished their meal already. The lady sat across the table, across him. She opened a notebook, and was reading and writing something, when one of her friends approached her with that disappointed face.

Her friend, a girl, was carrying a burger and suddenly slammed it on the table in front of her. And with that disappointed face, she said this,

"I don't like the burger you gave me. I'm not satisfied with its stuffing, it's only a little and not so good to taste. So, I'll return it to you."

The lady just didn't react, as if her complaint had no effect on her. She continued writing, looking at her notebook.

Then, without looking at her, she spoke calmly,

"What would you expect, when it's only a cheap one costing 20pesos only? Just buy another one, the expensive one to the other stall if you want."

She finally realized that she was not a true friend after all. That woman looked like a sheep outwardly, but inwardly she's not.
