Chapter-6
Two weeks have passed since Jack completed his first bits of training. It has been a total of four months since Jack had started his Training with Fighter as he was progressing at a fast pace,however memories of his past still eluded him. It was late at night around 11'0 clock when Jack was called into Fighter's office,
"What is it?"
Jack asked as Fighter turned on the tv. It showed breaking news as a reporter began to give details on what was going on. "Here we are outside Clockwork Tower where Mrs.Clockwork and her youngest son George have been taken hostage the kidnappers,reports say they were taken out of their own home,the kidnappers have demanded over 5 million dollars for their safe return of Mrs.Jennifer Clockwork and her son ,still no word from Mr.Clockwork as one can only assume the worst."
Fighter turned off the TV, Jack holding his hat in his hand. He put it on with rage burning in his eyes.
"Please excuse me Fighter, I have some business to take care of," Jack turned around and headed out.
When Fighter said
"Before you go there's something in the garage for you,it's design was based on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 only this one goes as fast as you can handle, but you wouldn't know what that is so,seeing how it's only 1998 in this world,but the technology in this world is growing fast,I don't why I told you that,all well have fun."
Fighter threw him the keys, Jack caught them, "I have no idea what you're talking about but thanks Fighter", Jack nodded and ran out towards the garage.
"Hey Jack where are you going?" Asked Dani ,as Jack quickly ran past him,
"What the,why was he in such a rush?" He asked as someone turned on the TV.
"Because of this" it was Loki as he showed everyone the situation,at Clockwork tower. As Sierra walked into the room and saw the TV and ran into Fighter's room.
"Where is he?" She asked Fighter
"I've already sent him," he said,
"We don't know if he's ready yet," she said. "Well only one way to find out."
Fighter said as he sat back in a chair and started to drink something.Sierra scoffs and runs after Jack. Jack arrived in the garage as he saw the bike was painted black and had a red techno design. Jack chuckled and got on the bike and started it and revved the engine. The engine roared at Jack's call.
"Oh yeah"
he said with excitement.
He quickly sped up and was on his way he had never felt something so fast, as a voice came from the bike "Hello Mr.Jack how may I be of service." The bike said
"Ejaba a talking bike,how is that possible?" Jack said,in complete shock.
"I was design by Fighter to be your personal vehicle, I can find you the quickest route to anywhere you want to go," the bike said.
"I've never seen technology like this before, your an interesting guy Fighter,take me to Clockwork tower fastest route," Jack said, "Calculating turn right." The bike said
as Jack turned right.
"Continue down this road for 2 miles then turn right."
Jack picked up the speed and was there in under a minute and turned left with ease.
"This thing has great speed and handling,I'll have to ask Fighter more about this bike when I get back," he said to himself.
"Turn right," it said Jack turned right but around the corner was a jeep.
"Crap" Jack swayed as much as he could and only scratched the side of it. "Close one," he said looking back.
"Continue down this road and you will arrive in less than 5 minutes," it said.
"Hang on mom, hang on George I'm on my way," he said to himself as he thought back to when he was younger. Still learning how to read, write and talk with the family that adopted him. He thought back to a certain
memory,when he was still a boy. His black hair was cut short and he wore that hat that he always does. As a little girl was trying to get a cat out of a tree.
"Mr.Fluffer come down," she said, stomping her foot as her mother held her baby son with Jack right by her side.
"What's the problem dear?"
She asked her,the woman's voice was gentle and calm,with just a few words she could defuse any situation.
"It's Fluffer momma,he won't come down," she said pointing up
"Hmm let see if Charles can help," she said holding out her hand.
"Okay," she said with a sniffle as she ran over and grabbed her hand.
Young Jack didn't know why but seeing his adoptive sister sad made his heartache for some reason. He looked up and saw that the cat was halfway up the tree. While the two of them were walking away Jack jumped up the tree and grabbed Fluffer. As he jumped down back.
"H-he-re" he said as best he could.
The two turned around and with a big smile and laugh Jessica came running back. She grabbed and hugged Fluffer.
"Thank you, Jack," she said with a smile and without even realizing it Jack too was smiling.
"Oh my,"
Mrs.Clockwork said,
"What is it, mom?" Asked Jessica
"I believe this is the first time I've seen you smile Jack."
Jessica gasps, "your right" Mrs.Clockwork knelt down towards Jack and said, "Jack does helping people making you happy".
Jack shrugged he didn't really know
"Well how about helping your family?"
She said as Jack looked at her surprised that she called him family. He did not quite understand the notion of family,but how could someone so kind like this exist he thought to himself. The baby in her arms began to giggle and reach out for Jack. Mrs.Clockwork smiled and said.
"Here" as she handed him to Jack. He was nervous he reached out and held him as the baby giggled and held on to him.
"He likes you,"
she said as Jack continued to smile.
"Come now children,let's head inside",
As they began to walk inside they heard someone shouted.
"Lookout the horses" ,as a horse came running at them.
"Quickly children get out of the way" as they ran to get out of the way Jessica tripped and fell,
"Jessica!" Mrs.Clockwork shouted as suddenly she saw the baby was back in her arms and Jack was running towards Jessica
"Jack!"
shouted Mrs.Clockwork.
"F-f-fa-family" he said running towards her. Just before the horse ran over her Jack tackled her and the two rolled over and away from the horse. Men quickly ran over and pulled the horse,as one apologizes to Mrs.Clockwork. She said it was okay as he walked. She quickly ran over to her children and hugged them both closely.
"Are you two alright?"
She asked as they both nodded,she looked at Jack.
"You ran into harm's way and protected your sister." She said with a smile on her face,
Jack looked away because he thought that she would treat him differently now,that she knew he was different. She gently grabbed his chimed and pulled his face back towards her.
"Your special Jack so very special,your kind and brave,and you protect those you care about,your special my son,don't let anyone tell you differently."
She said as Jack was surprised as he felt this warmth inside his heart and a slap on the back. He looked to his left and saw that it was Jessica who had slapped his back.
"Heck, yeah you are. I've never seen any kid do that before running as fast as you,you're freaking awesome dude!"
She said with a laugh.
"Jessica,I think you're forgetting something" ,her mom said.
"Oh right my bad,thank you Jack,but come on mom it's true Jack is the coolest."
She said to her mother, Mrs.Clockwork began to laugh.
"Right you are my dear."
She said as the two began to laugh. As they laughed they noticed Jack attempted to laugh as well,which only made the laughter go on for longer. He came out of his phase and
sped up his bike as he was almost at the tower.
"I'm coming just hang on you guys I'm coming." He said to himself as he saw
Jessica. She was right outside the building with police trying to get a hold of her father when Jack pulled up. "Jack?"
She said as the two hugged
"Are you okay?"
He asked as he looked at her "I'm fine but dad being the stupid ignorant no good father he is,he is had yet to say anything to me or the police."
She said with tears in her eyes,Jack sat her down and said "It's going to be alright I'm going to get them" he said.
"You but how?
There are tons of guys in there with guns and all kinds of weapons Jack"
she said.
"Trust me I can save them"
as he got up and started walking towards the building.
"Jack!"
She shouted as he looked back and gave her a thumbs up,"Trust your big brother"
he said as she smiled, and said,
"Go get em Uppercut."
Jack turned away and walked towards the door with a serious look on his face and rage in his eyes. As the police tried to stop him but he was too fast for them. As he sped past them and into the building where there were 15 guys inside. As he ran into the middle as they were all taken by surprise and surrounded him. They all pointed their guns at him as one of them shot at him from the left as Jack dodged it,and looked the man in the eyes.
"Impossible"
he said as suddenly there was a commotion outside.
"Lookout"
a policeman said,
"it's coming this way",another man said.
As suddenly a Jeep came crashing through the lobby Jack jumped out of the way as it crashed into the wall. As everyone was surprised as the driver door of the car was kicked open and the man inside shouted. "THERE YOU ARE YOU CAR WRECKER!"
As a man came jumping out of the car and landed in front of Jack. He stood up to meet him at eye level. "Car wrecker?"
Jack asked the man as he grabbed him by the jacket collar.
"YEAH CAR WRECKER,DON'T REMEMBER YOU AND THAT FANCY BIKE SCRATCHED MY JEEP." He said pointing at it,as Jack thought back and remembered the jeep he had scratched on his way here.
"YOU MEAN THAT JEEP I SCRATCHED BELONGED TO YOU."
He shouted at him.
"YES THAT WAS MIND NOW YOUR GONNA PAY FOR DAMAGES"
he said to Jack.
"ME YOU JUST BUSTED THROUGH THE FRONT, DOOR PASSED MULTIP POLICE AND WRECKED YOUR CAR IN THE PROCESS", Jack said grabbing his jacket collar.
"Well that's a good point, except for the fact that I,DON'T CARE your gonna pay what you owe," he said to Jack.
As a man started to clap
"As entertaining as all this is I'm gonna have to ask you, boys, to get on your knees and surrender or we may have to kill ya,see me and these boys are part of a very high budget group that only takes on a high quality mission,so if you two would stop arguing like a couple of schoolgirls we can-agh." He stopped and fell back in pain as he was shot in the arm,by the man who was holding Jack jacket collar.
"SHUT UP"
they both said,
"THANK YOU HE WAS GETTING ON MY NERVES" Jack said.
"HE WAS GETTING ON MY MY NERVES,TOO I'M GARRIT WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" He asked Jack,
"I'M JACK HEY LISTEN I'LL FEEL BAD ABOUT YOUR JEEP,SO I'LL TAKE IT TO ONE OF MY SHOPS AND HAVE IT FIXED UP,"
Jack said.
"THANK YOU HEY THE REST OF THESE GUYS HAVE SOME ANNOYING FACES MIND IF I TAG ALONG," he asked.
"The more the merrier." He said to him
the two shook hands and stood back to back.
"You ready for this Jack-o," Garrit said
"Always."
The two smiled and chuckled as they heard screams and grunts coming from the front door as men went flying through the air and one towards them as they ducked for cover. They quickly looked to see what was happening as Jack took a closer look and saw someone literally tossing bodies. As he recognized who it was and shouted.
"Sierra!!"
Jack surprised,
You know that monster woman?"
Said Garrit
"Yep and if you know what's good for you you'll never say that again,especially around her"
Jack said to Gerrit
"OH JACK!"
Sierra shouted at him.
"STOP STANDING AROUND AND GET UP THERE" Jack smiled
"THANKS SIERRA I OWE YOU again," he said as two quickly ran towards the stairs
"No you don't," said two guards.
"JACK DUCK" Jack and Garrit both ducked as a large table came flying towards them and crashed into the men.
"Thanks Sierra"
said Jack.
"What about me she didn't warn me I could have been crushed," said Garrit
As Jack continued to run ahead.
"Come on Garrit",
he said as Garrit follows behind with a somber look. "Fine," he said, As upstairs the man in charge of this group hears about what has been transpiring downstairs.
"Two of the intruders are heading up now through the stairwell bossman what do we do?"
The man stood in the main office looking out of a window.
"Bring me the prisoners"
he said as two men brought in Mrs.Clockwork holding her son close to her they were brought towards the man as he turned around.
"Looks like someone has come to rescue you Mrs.Clockwork they're making quick work of my man,and I was wondering if you happen to know who they might be?"
He asked but she remained silent
"Hm well guess I'll just take a look myself,"
he said as he pressed a button on the desk which opened a wall of security screens,as one showed Jack and Garret running up the staircase as Mrs.Clockwork expression quickly switched to surprised.
"So you do know them so tell me who they are?" He asked again Mrs.Clockwork smiled and said
"The one in back I don't know but the other one is my son."
The man was confused at first, and then called one of his men over.
"I want you to find everything we can on her son and anything on the others,"
he told him.
"Yes sir, but if I may, why not just ask her we can take her son and threaten her."
The man grabbed him by the throat "Did you forget we were ordered only to hold them,no harm is to come to understand them?"
He said,releasing him, "Yes boss sorry boss."
He said as he got up rubbing his throat as he left the room.
"Roger,"
the boss said to the man next to him, "Alert all the men tell them to have two men on heading towards the 15th floor and tell the rest to take defense positions."
The man nodded and pulled out a radio and relayed the orders. As Jack and Garrit continued up the stairs.
"Hey Jack I just remembered could we take care of these guys quickly?" He asked him
"That was kind of the plan how come?" Jack asked him
"My wife and son are expecting me," he said, "hm hm WIFE AND SON YOUR MARRIED AND HAVE A KID!" Jack shouted.
"OH WOW WHY DID THAT SURPRISE YOU HUH? MOMMAS BOY"
Gerrit said.
"Well, I just thought that well...that you were single, sad and kind of lonely,and who are you calling mama's boy?!"
He said slightly frustrated,as Gerrit kicked him in the but.
"HEY WHAT WAS THAT FOR?"
He asked looking back at Gerrit
"Oh I'm sorry maybe this sad lonor WILL AIM CLOSER TO HOME NEXT TIME!"
Gerrit said,getting ready to kick him again.
"YOU KNOW THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT," Jack said.
"WELL I DON'T CARE I'M HELPING YOU OUT AND,THAT'S WHAT YOU THINK OF ME"
"Well what was your personification of me?"
Jack asked him.
"An arrogant rich jerk,"
Gerrit said with his arms crossed.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?"
Jack shouted,
"What?" Gerrit said with a shrug
"WHY ARE YOU GETTING MAD AT ME WHEN YOU ALSO THOUGHT I WAS TERRIBLE PERSON."
Garrit rubbed his chin.
"I guess you're right."
"YOU GUESS?" Jack shouted
"Man I could go for some pie right now,"
Garrit said. "wait hold on what kind of pie?"
Jack asked
"Apple pie," Garrit said.
"With whip cream?"
Jack asked,
"Yeah"
Gerrit responded,
"And ice cream on the side?"
Gerrit asked,
Jack looked back and the two stared at each other and then Garrit said.
"Okay when I say go say your favorite drink don't think just say it ready GO."
He shouted as they both said
"SUGAR BOMB BLUE EXPLOSION VERSION 4," they both said at the same time
"WHAT," Garrit said.
"So wait,are we like best friends now?"
Jack said.
"Oh you bet we are,also do you know what floor your family is on?"
Garrit asked as Jack stopped and slowly turned his head back with a nervous look in his eyes.
"Ahaha uuuuh I uh never figured that part out"
Jack said nervously.
"Great now we have to check every floor"
he said.
"Not necessarily" said Jack
"All we have to do is get to the security room and check the cameras should be on 15th floor."
The two nodded their head as they continued up towards the higher floor until they reached floor 15. "This is it"
Jack said,
"There's probably some guys behind that door"
Jack said.
"I'll check" Gerrit said as he opened the door "OH WAIT YOU, IDIOT!"
Jack shouted.
Soon after bullets came flying through the door Gerrit quickly closed.
"Yep there are definitely guys on the other side of the door"
he said with a nod.
"YOU IDIOT THERE GOES THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE"
Jack shouted at him.
"Yes but since we know where they are they have also lost the element of surprise,"
As he smiled brightly.
"U-u-ugh I don't think you know how the element of surprise works,"
Jack said.
"And since we know their positions it should only take me half a clip to get them all."
Gerrit said pulling out a pistol.
"Wait, are you telling me that just after 2 seconds you could tell where they all were?"
Jack asked.
"Yes"
Gerrit said while loading a gun.
"There's one guy on the left side of the door sitting behind the water cooler,two in the second-row ,cubicle,one behind the far left wall two inside ,the security room which they forgot to close the door,and based on the shadows and the lighting there's one more on the far right by the file cabinets,based on how many we saw downstairs and what building were and who it belongs to,this organization were fighting consist of a small army."
Jack's jaw dropped.
"You could tell that much after a 2-second glance?"
He asked Gerrit
"1.02 seconds but yeah should be easy stay here" Gerrit duel wielding two pistols. He rolled out of the door and leaped out of the door and shot the guy behind the water cooler. when the other two in the cubicles heard this they rose to their feet. They opened fire through the door. Gerrit, keeping low to the ground, shot through the cubicles and straight into their heads. The guy behind the filing cabinets leapt out but was quickly shot through the chest. the two guys in the security room both ran out standing right next to each other. With one bullet Gerrit shot through both their heads at once Gerrit rose to his feet and hustler his guns.
"HOLLY CRAP MAN"
Jack shouted, running through the door as Gerrit chuckled.
"I'm the best gunslinger in the world,"
he said,spinning his guns around.
"What's going on here?!"
Someone said behind them.
"AAAAAH,FIGHTING POSITIONS" Gerrit shouted and as Jack stood still,since he knew who it was. As they both turned around. Gerrit in a fighting stance as it was Sierra who had appeared behind them.
"What are you two doing?"
She asked
"Hey Sierra"
Jack said,as Gerrit drops his stance in embarrassment.
"We're here to check the cameras to figure out what floor they are keeping my mother and brother on,"
Jack said.
"I see,"
she said.
"Also I expected you to catch up sooner,"
Jack said.
"You think I only beat up the guys on the first floor I've been beating the crap out of every person I came across from floor 1st floor all the way to this floor although it seems you beat me to it,"
she said.
"Actuality it was,just me who took these punks down."
Gerrit said pointing at himself ,as Sierra walked straight passed him completely ignoring him. Jack pats him on the back and says
"It's alright buddy."
He said patting him on the back
"Fine whatever"
Gerrit said with a sigh.
The three walked into the security room. In Front of them was a wall of computers and security footage showing all the important rooms.
"I don't see what floor there is on," said Sierra.
"One second I got it,"
Jack said as he walked up to the desk, pressed a few buttons, and pulled the main office fed.
"As I suspected there in Clockwork's office, that's on the 100th floor,"
Jack said as he looked at his watch.
"One second here a 200th floor,what kind of egotistical maniac builds 200 floors."
Jack continued to look at the screen.
"Clockwork is a man who feels the need to look down on everyone,regardless of who they are as long as he's on top he couldn't care less about anyone," Jack said.
"Geez your pops got a serious issue."
Jack clenched his fist slightly
"He's not my father."
He said as he walked out of the room.
"Clockwork for some reason has always hated Jack, the last time Jack saw him Clockwork tried to kill him,the two have always hated each other."
Gerrit looked confused
"Why do they hate each other?"
Gerrit asked Sierra shook her head
"That I do not know he has yet to tell me that."
She said with her arms crossed.
Jack walked towards the stairs thinking back to life growing up in the Clockwork household. He thought back to the first time he meant Mr.Clockwork. He was outside reading a book by a tree by himself. While Mrs.Clockwork, his sister, and brother all went out for a bit. When suddenly there were footsteps and bullet went right past Jack's head into the tree. Jack, in pure shock, looked at the tree and saw the hole in the tree, he looked back and saw a man standing there with a gun in his hand walking towards him. "I just used this to get your attention,you looked like you were enjoying that book and honestly it made me mad to see low life reading,but where are my manners,Greetings there boy I am William R.Clockwork you will call me Mr.Clockwork."
Clockwork tossed the gun to side and walked up to Jack.
Jack nodded and continued to sit.
"So you're the little runt my wife decided to adopt."
Jack looked up as the man stood in front of Jack. And with one swing of his left leg, Clockwork kicked Jack across the face and again with the right.
"Listen here boy you are nothing, you will never be anything ever, just because my foolish wife adopted you,honestly I don't why I married that whence,she's not good for much ya know."
He raised his foot and as he was about to slam Jack's face in, Jack caught his foot.
"I've been living with Mrs.Clockwork for a year now, I've never once met you. I've seen you in pictures; along with people briefly talking about you."
He threw him off and stood up.
"Foolish is what you call her. I've spent a year with her and "foolish" is the last thing I would call her,along with as you put it a "whence"she brought me into her home,showed me love and kindness,I will not allow to speak ill of her,so tell me how much time have you spent with her,your wife,with your own children."
He said to Mr.Clockwork,clenching his fist.
Clockwork scoffed and turned away and started to walk away.
"102 hours in total is how much time I've spent with her, I haven't spent a second with those things you refer to be my children. This won't be the last time you see me, Jack,you and I have so much to do,remember this,you will never be a match for me." He said with a chilling warning and threat. Jack thought to himself.
"How, how could someone so kind marry someone so cruel and heartless."
Jack had wondered his entire life,how the two had ended up together. They were complete opposites,she was good and pure hearted. While he was cruel and didn't care for anyone,Jack had always thought that he didn't have soul.
"Hey, you okay?"
Jack looked to his left and it was Sierra, he came out his daze and nodded at her.
"The question is how do we get there in one piece?" said Gerrit.
"I have an idea,"
Said Sierra as she walked over to the elevator doors. And with one hand opened.
"We'll use the elevator,"said Sierra
Gerrit ran over and looked into the shaft.
"You want us to climb up the shaft."
said Gerrit
"No the plan I'm going to call up the elevator you two jump on top, I'll climb inside and press the 200-floor button"
She said pointing up.
Jack walked over and looked down as well
"Will you join us on top?"
Jack asked,
"No, I'm going to clear this building then I will join."
Jack shook his head while Gerrit was in complete shock.
"Wait hold on a second there's no way you could take them all out by yourself,"
said Gerrit.
Sierra chuckles and says
"You wanna bet?"
She said as she pressed the button and the elevator started to come up. Jack jumped on and Sierra put her foot on top of it to stop it,as Gerrit stayed behind.
"Gerrit what are you doing?"
Jack asked, Gerrit smiles and starts Stretching.
"Me and you,let's see who can take out the most people."
Gerrit said smiling,Sierra smiles and nods.
"You're on,you gonna be fine on your own?"
She asks Jack,
as he tips Jack tips his hat.
"I'll be fine,you two take care,and Sierra try not to beat him too badly."
Jack said as he and Sierra smiled and chuckled.
"Yeah,yeah get going already, your mom's waiting for you,mamas boy."
Gerrit smiles and gives him a thumbs up. The three all give each other thumbs up as Sierra took her foot off and the elevator came up.
Sierra and Gerrit got in the elevator. As she pressed the 200th floor button.
They went up and the elevator stopped on the 110th floor. The doors opened and on the other side was a huge group of men all armed.
"Ready men",
one man said as they all aimed at Gerrit and Sierra.
"You ready gunman?"
Sierra said tauntingly,Gerrit pulled out two pistols and smiled.
"Bring it on!!"
The two charged in head first.
The elevator doors closed and the elevator began to go up to the 200th floor.
"Good luck you too."
Jack said to himself,as he sat down on top of the elevator. He shut his eyes and his mind drifted off to a few weeks ago
